Selten habe ich einen so schönen, herzerwärmenden Film gesehen. Da kann kein Hollywood-Schmalz mithalten. Park Chan-Wook ist ein Könner. Abgefahrene Ausgangsstory, wahnsinnig (im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes) gute Charaktere, liebevolle Details und Nebenstorys. Dieser Film ist so unglaublich anders und dabei so gut.

Joss Whedon hat noch nie enttäuscht und tut es auch mit diesem Film nicht. Großartige Idee und noch bessere Umsetzung. Was man bei Horrorfilmen sonst oft vermisst, ist hier vorhanden, z. B. der Witz (andere nehmen sich zu ernst) und die Charaktere (bei anderen ist man froh, wenn sie endlich sterben). Das Low Budget sieht man dem Film nicht an, die Effekte überzeugen, die liebevolle Detailliertheit der Monster ebenfalls.
