For reference, I would define an action movie as a film that centers itself around violence, explosions, gun/sword/fist fights, and bombastic displays of badassery. This includes gun toting shoot em ups, martial arts films, or any other type of movie that values style over all else. This is NOT a list of the best movies that happen to have action-oriented scenes, these are movies that are defined by their well-choreographed and entertaining violence.
