1. The Borgias (2011–2013)

TV-MA | 50 min | Crime, Drama, History

In the fifteenth century, Pope Alexander VI tries to control all power in Italy with the help of his several sons, through murder, intrigue, war, and marriage alliances.

Stars: Jeremy Irons, François Arnaud, Holliday Grainger, Peter Sullivan

Votes: 53,953

Fantastic Renaissance, Italian, political crime drama spearheaded by Irons as a corrupt and licentious pope - what's not to love? My favourite show of all time now and it ended too quickly once it was axed. Even though Showtime released a screenplay to tie it up, the ending of both the screenplay and the third season were tear-jerking moments of sadness.

2. Firefly (2002–2003)

TV-14 | 45 min | Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi

Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them.

Stars: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin

Votes: 281,739

The epitome of networks (Damn you, Fox!) gone crazy and stupid! This exquisitely made Joss Whedon sci-fi/western series only got 13 episodes . Fans worldwide went nuclear - that's how fantastic this show is - and yet because it's sci-fi and therefore part of a niche genre attracting a smaller demographic than most of the other crap that's on TV nowadays, it got cancelled. More, more, more!

3. Serenity (2005)

PG-13 | 119 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

74 Metascore

The crew of the ship Serenity try to evade an assassin sent to recapture telepath River.

Director: Joss Whedon | Stars: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alan Tudyk

Votes: 305,690 | Gross: $25.51M

The movie that was eventually produced due to fan uproar and interest. See above! A sequel that doesn't involve the deaths of two major characters would be lovely. Please and thank you! :P
