Amazing female actors... The BEST, where best is a relative term. *in almost no specific order. **in some sort of narrative order, it turns out.

From the Gloriously Brilliant (Please have my babies, Olivia), to the Beautiful Losers (Love you, Tara)... female actors I am absolutely in love with... and will watch in anything.

1. Olivia Wilde

Actress and activist Olivia Wilde is a modern day renaissance woman, starring in many acclaimed film productions, while simultaneously giving back to the community.

She was born on March 10, 1984 in New York City. Her parents are Leslie Cockburn (née Leslie Corkill Redlich) and Andrew Cockburn. Her ...

Producer, Director, Actor, and Good Lord! Look at her! That figure and face... she can literally make my heart skip with her eyes... and then run off and direct some of the best sci-fi made in a very long time... while driving me crazy in a simple sundress.

You're doing good stuff, Olive.

2. Tara Reid

Actress | American Pie

Born in Wyckoff, New Jersey, USA on November 8, 1975. She got her career start at six, when she appeared on a children's game show called Child's Play (1982). I will forever be in love with Danni Sullivan. Namaste, Buttlicks!

3. Amelia Clay

Actress | Beyond Existence

Amelia Clay is known for Beyond Existence (2022), Wash (2019) and The Philosopher King (2014).

Literally in the middle of watching Beyond Existence when I started this whole mess... I came here to say something about Amelia Clay...

What an amazing Ice Princess... an Alabaster Winter Goddess, who looks to be carved straight out of the wall of a glacier... love at first sight!

I'm going to have to introduce her to the Tilda Swinton who lives in my head... put some David Sylvian on the Stereo, and see where the evening takes us.

What a beauty.

I can't wait to see what she does next.

4. Lizzy Caplan

Actress | Hot Tub Time Machine

Actress Elizabeth Anne "Lizzy" Caplan was born in Los Angeles, California, to Barbara (Bragman), a political aide, and Richard Caplan, a lawyer. She has two older siblings, Julie and Benjamin, and was raised in a Jewish household. Her mother was a cousin of publicist Howard Bragman. Caplan was ...

So beautiful, and so freaking funny. Lizzy had my heart instantly. It was tough to watch her explode. What a heartbreaker.

Lizzy is the kind of woman who refers to you as her boyfriend, and your sphincter contracts with pride that you dare not show in front of her or she will make fun of you.

I wish I were man enough for Lizzy Caplan.

5. Robin Tunney

Actress | The Craft

Robin Tunney studied acting at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, spending her summer performing in such plays as "Bus Stop" and "Agnes of God". She moved to Los Angeles at the age of eighteen and shortly landed roles in such television shows as Life Goes On (1989), Class of '96 (1993) (recurring), ...

If, beyond my belief, Olive and Lizzy were vying for my attention, Robin might be the only woman who could turn my head.

6. Katja Herbers

Actress | Westworld

Katja Herbers is the daughter of violinist Vera Beths and oboist Werner Herbers. Growing up she spent time in America, accompanying her mother on tour with the chamber music group L'Archibudelli. Her mother remarried cellist Anner Bylsma and her father remarried costume designer Leonie Polak, who ...

Katja's transformative abilities she's displayed in EVIL are beyond belief... I fell in love with her in Manhattan, and she appears to be able to do ANYTHING. If Robin could turn my head, I'm afraid, Katja might be able to kindly and sweetly ask me to climb into the trunk of her car... and I'd ask if she'd like me to organize things while I'm in there.

7. Eva Green

Actress | Casino Royale

French actress and model Eva Gaëlle Green was born on July 6, 1980, in Paris, France. Her father, Walter Green, is a dentist who appeared in the 1966 film Au hasard Balthazar (1966). Her mother, Marlène Jobert, is an actress turned children's book writer. Eva's mother was born in Algeria, of French...

...and then Eva would preside above us all from her throne of ebony antlers, dripping in blood... draped in bone white innocence.

Eva, in Penny Dreadful, was able to be sweet, innocent, pleading, frightening, sexy, demonic, malevolent, and terrifying simultaneously. I'm sorry, Dear, I have the most confusing erection at the moment.

A true goddess, and incredible actor.

8. Olivia Williams

Actress | The Ghost Writer

Olivia began her career on the stage at the RSC and The National Theatre, breaking into TV with the Andrew Davies adaptation of Emma (1996).

From a damp basement in Camden Town she won the role of Abby in the $120 million blockbuster The Postman (1997) starring alongside Kevin Costner. In the ...

I want to be lounging in a cool, morning Sun dappled room, with no plans or responsibilities with Olivia Williams.

9. Amanda Tapping

Actress | Stargate SG-1

Born In England, raised in Canada. BFA Acting University of Windsor. Amanda spent 12 seasons on Stargate SG-1 (1997) and its spin-offs, Stargate: Atlantis (2004) and Stargate Universe (2009), as "Samantha Carter". She then took on the lead role of "Dr. Helen Magnus" on the television series ...

For all those folks who like to say there are no roles for strong, competent, POWERFUL (fuck yeah Sam!) women... I say, may I introduce you to (last I heard anything from under the mountain) Colonel Doctor Samantha Carter... beautiful, genius, warrior, engineer, physicist, explorer, diplomat, loving, compassionate, feminine, adorable woman.

Next to Sigourney Weaver; undisputed Queen of ALL Science Fiction... I'd say Amanda Tapping and Claudia Black should be strutting, shoulder to shoulder down the dark, steamy, Michael Mann, neon glowing streets of a dystopian present, with the faces of the amazing number of actors... MAINLY WOMEN, who got their start in horror and sci-fi, surrounding them...

There is no King of all Sci-Fi... There is a Queen... Sigourney Weaver... and she has an ever expanding court.

Weaver Tapping Black Jovovich Steel Curtis Etc...

Stargate SG-1 made an effort, in the beginning, to have a scene where Dr. Samantha Carter told a conference room of MEN that her opinion was just as valid as theirs, despite the fact her reproductive organs are on the inside... and it was as cringe-worthy, and embarrassing as you'd expect... then they "hung a lamp on it" and eventually the character acknowledged that she put that barrier in her own way, and is surrounded by MEN who count on her being smarter than them, to save their asses.

Colonel Doctor Samantha Carter may well be the best developed female character in history.

Amanda Tapping... Producer, Director, Actor, with a smile that can melt men's hearts.

10. Sigourney Weaver

Actress | Alien Resurrection

Sigourney Weaver has created a host of memorable characters, both dramatic and comic, ranging from Ripley in Alien to Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist to Gwen/Tawny in Galaxy Quest and most recently, 14-year-old Kiri in Avatar: The Way of Water. With a career spanning over 50 years, Weaver has ...

The undisputed Queen of all science fiction...

Alien, Ghostbusters, Galaxy Quest, Futurama, Avatar, Paul, The Cabin in the Woods, Chappie, etc, etc, etc... that's at least 15 films right there, and by no means a complete list.

There is no male actor to compare Sigourney to... there is no King.

Sigourney is a HERO!

...and damn, your tiny little cotton space underpants and shirt will live rent-free in my head for the rest of my life. Thank you for that.

I love you, Sugar!

11. Anne Heche

Actress | Six Days Seven Nights

Anne Celeste Heche was an American actress, director, and screenwriter. She came to recognition portraying Vicky Hudson and Marley Love in the soap opera Another World (1964), which won her a Daytime Emmy Award and two Soap Opera Digest Awards. She came to mainstream prominence in the late 1990s ...

Sweet Anne.

I'm sorry you never ended up in an environment of people capable of understanding your perception of reality. People capable of understanding you, so they could guide you to clarity.

You were a stunning, glorious little elf. You are missed. If you don't get that reference, go find Brian Doyle Murry and ask him about it... oh shit! He's still alive... so, no, don't go ask him...

I'm sure he'd be glad to talk to you about grief and loss but, you haunting him might kill him at his age... so maybe we find a better, slightly less shocking way to address the matter at hand?

I hope that little bit of humor tells you how much I think I got you.

Thank you for your honest, if not humorized... or perhaps humanized, portrayals of mental illness. The stigma will fall away once EVERYONE considers they, at the very least, have cPTSD, if not some genetic, neurological personality disorder. *read a book about cPTSD and tell me I'm wrong. DBT, folks.

You glorious little thing. *poop!*

12. Barbara Babcock

Great, stuffy old lady character? No!... Look at her in Star Trek... What a stunning beauty. Good God!

I so want to get drunk and stoned with Betty Gilpin, hang out on the couch watching Mst3k/Rifftrax, eating Chili Cheese Dogs with Onions until we end up in a farting contest.

How can One NOT love this woman?

14. Elizabeth Banks

Actress | The Hunger Games

Elizabeth Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell in Pittsfield, a small city in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts near the New York border, on February 10, 1974. She is the daughter of Anne Marie (Wallace), who worked in a bank, and Mark Phineas Mitchell, a factory worker. Elizabeth describes ...

There is so much to say about Elizabeth Banks, and absolutely none of it has anything to do with The Hunger Games.

Walk of Shame... A woman I was already in love with became a full blown goddess in this film. Her character is not mean, or spiteful, or crappy and rude to people, or expecting of anything but human decency... and she's finding it in strange places. You want to see an outstanding confluence of Hilarious, Sexy, Beautiful, Smart, and Funny... Elizabeth trying to maintain her dignity while trying to lap a damn, much needed, drink of water from the garden spigot is pure comedy gold. It's Gold Jerry! What an actor!

On a side-note: In my opinion this Barbara Streisand, female, protagonist role, if no one minds me making the comparison, is exactly what whomever was handling Jenifer Aniston's career should have been cultivating. I hope Elizabeth continues to cultivate it in hers.

I have much more to say about her... but that's a start.

15. Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Actress | 10 Cloverfield Lane

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is an actress known for her versatile work in a variety of film and television projects. Possibly most known for her role as Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), she has also starred in critically acclaimed independent films such as Smashed (2012), for which...

If you're going to go anywhere near a Carpenter film, you had better know what the hell you are doing.

If you're going after The Thing, and making a prequel, you had better REALLY know what you are doing.

John Carpenter's The Thing is without question the greatest horror/scifi ever made. Beyond that, it's as close to a perfect film as you are going to get in any genre. Carpenter is NTBFW... he did more with less money than anyone since Corman.

Though I had seen her before, it was The Thing prequel that made me SEE her. Being juxtaposed to Kurt Russell as MacReady... that takes balls. Or as is more appropriate to say in the name of representation... a powerful vagina!

So... Mary Elizabeth, beautiful badass... show me what you got... I have zero doubt in you.

16. Rosamund Pike

Actress | Gone Girl

Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the only child of a classical violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and an opera singer father, Julian Pike. ...another fearless spell caster.

Think about how willing to look ridiculous and stupid you have to be to do what Elizabeth and Rosamund make amazing on film. Absolutely FEARLESS! Nicolas Cage and Michael Caine would be proud.

Glorious beings.

Holy good God, Grace Jones... A woman who dated Dolf Lungren. An hilarious actor, who gave her all to roles in films that are classic by their quality and tone.

Also, IMHO, an outstanding singer who released some of the most amazing music ever recorded. Put on some Grace, Roxy Music, and The Best of Tim Curry, and you have a great evening.

I don't know why, or how... but Mary-Louise Parker is the sexiest woman alive.

Pure animal magnetism, like she's sending pheromones through the TV screen.

Like seriously... I would not trust myself to be in control of my actions once caught up in her Queen Bee like allure... I want to protect and mate with her.

It's a bit frightening and amazing at the same time.

24. Linda Fiorentino

She graduated from San Francisco State University and began her acting career with the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, ...

Please, don't insult me by assuming intelligent, strong, Adult, women don't turn me on.

Annette Bening's character, certainly not an employee of the C.I.A., Elise Kraft, in The Siege is so hot.

And look at Captain Marvel... she's still hot.

Annette paved the way for demonstrating a strong woman in an action role without sacrificing her womanhood, or femininity. Without becoming a caricature of a male action hero, but defining the role for a woman.

She is in that class with Sigourney Weaver, Amanda Tapping, & Claudia Black.

On a tangentially related matter... Bruce Willis, you are Loved.

26. Claudia Black

Born ...

So very smart, so very hot, so very Irish... and a devastating acerbic wit that can tear you to ribbons like being dragged though a South Boston back alley.

Even in small parts like feeding Pacino lines in Insomnia she puts this real person on screen.

Who's not completely in love with Abby Lockhart?

30. Yvonne Strahovski

Actress | Stateless

Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski was born and raised in Australia. Her parents were Polish immigrants. She attended the Santa Sabina College for her high school education. She then went on to study Performance at the University of Western Sydney's School of Contemporary Arts, graduating in 2003. ...

Yvonne is a great example of an unexplainable, let's face it, perfection in a woman that just can't be quantified, but you know it when you see it.

Like Helen Hunt's back... the slope of her shoulders, the dimples of her vertebrae, the angle of her "stringed instrument" waist turning into hip... Helen Hunt's back should be carved delicately into alabaster by someone worthy of the stone.

In Yvonne that magical quality is very weirdly her teeth. I could say her mouth... and yes, the whole package is certainly working there... but the "skyline" and "reflection" of her teeth is so freaking unexplainably cute, and sweet, and sexy in a straight to the heart kind of way.

She came into my view funny, and adorable in Chuck, and she has matured as a woman and an actor... whose age looks great on her. She's a smoking hot 40 year old, and she's going to be a smoking hot 70 year old.

Thanks to all the great women of the "fantasy industry" who don't go overboard, and sacrifice their bodies to the futile fight to hold back time.
