If Robin could turn my head, I'm afraid, Katja might be able to kindly and sweetly ask me to climb into the trunk of her car... and I'd ask if she'd like me to organize things while I'm in there.

...and then Eva would preside above us all from her throne of ebony antlers, dripping in blood... draped in bone white innocence.

Eva, in Penny Dreadful, was able to be sweet, innocent, pleading, frightening, sexy, demonic, malevolent, and terrifying simultaneously. I'm sorry, Dear, I have the most confusing erection at the moment.

I'd say Amanda Tapping and Claudia Black should be strutting, shoulder to shoulder down the dark, steamy, Michael Mann, neon glowing streets of a dystopian present, with the faces of the amazing number of actors... MAINLY WOMEN, who got their start in horror and sci-fi, surrounding them...

There is no King of all Sci-Fi... There is a Queen... Sigourney Weaver... and she has an ever expanding court.

Stargate SG-1 made an effort, in the beginning, to have a scene where Dr. Samantha Carter told a conference room of MEN that her opinion was just as valid as theirs, despite the fact her reproductive organs are on the inside... and it was as cringe-worthy, and embarrassing as you'd expect... then they "hung a lamp on it" and eventually the character acknowledged that she put that barrier in her own way, and is surrounded by MEN who count on her being smarter than them, to save their asses.

Colonel Doctor Samantha Carter may well be the best developed female character in history.

Amanda Tapping... Producer, Director, Actor, with a smile that can melt men's hearts.

The undisputed Queen of all science fiction...

Alien, Ghostbusters, Galaxy Quest, Futurama, Avatar, Paul, The Cabin in the Woods, Chappie, etc, etc, etc... that's at least 15 films right there, and by no means a complete list.

There is no male actor to compare Sigourney to... there is no King.

Sigourney is a HERO!

There is so much to say about Elizabeth Banks, and absolutely none of it has anything to do with The Hunger Games.

Walk of Shame... A woman I was already in love with became a full blown goddess in this film. Her character is not mean, or spiteful, or crappy and rude to people, or expecting of anything but human decency... and she's finding it in strange places. You want to see an outstanding confluence of Hilarious, Sexy, Beautiful, Smart, and Funny... Elizabeth trying to maintain her dignity while trying to lap a damn, much needed, drink of water from the garden spigot is pure comedy gold. It's Gold Jerry! What an actor!

On a side-note: In my opinion this Barbara Streisand, female, protagonist role, if no one minds me making the comparison, is exactly what whomever was handling Jenifer Aniston's career should have been cultivating. I hope Elizabeth continues to cultivate it in hers.

If you're going to go anywhere near a Carpenter film, you had better know what the hell you are doing.

If you're going after The Thing, and making a prequel, you had better REALLY know what you are doing.

John Carpenter's The Thing is without question the greatest horror/scifi ever made. Beyond that, it's as close to a perfect film as you are going to get in any genre. Carpenter is NTBFW... he did more with less money than anyone since Corman.

Though I had seen her before, it was The Thing prequel that made me SEE her. Being juxtaposed to Kurt Russell as MacReady... that takes balls. Or as is more appropriate to say in the name of representation... a powerful vagina!

So... Mary Elizabeth, beautiful badass... show me what you got... I have zero doubt in you.

Goodness... her eyes in Doom. I'm so digging Wheel of Time... cast those spells sweetheart.

Annette Bening's character, certainly not an employee of the C.I.A., Elise Kraft, in The Siege is so hot.

And look at Captain Marvel... she's still hot.

Annette paved the way for demonstrating a strong woman in an action role without sacrificing her womanhood, or femininity. Without becoming a caricature of a male action hero, but defining the role for a woman.

She is in that class with Sigourney Weaver, Amanda Tapping, & Claudia Black.

On a tangentially related matter... Bruce Willis, you are Loved.

So very smart, so very hot, so very Irish... and a devastating acerbic wit that can tear you to ribbons like being dragged though a South Boston back alley.

Even in small parts like feeding Pacino lines in Insomnia she puts this real person on screen.

Who's not completely in love with Abby Lockhart?

Yvonne is a great example of an unexplainable, let's face it, perfection in a woman that just can't be quantified, but you know it when you see it.

Like Helen Hunt's back... the slope of her shoulders, the dimples of her vertebrae, the angle of her "stringed instrument" waist turning into hip... Helen Hunt's back should be carved delicately into alabaster by someone worthy of the stone.

In Yvonne that magical quality is very weirdly her teeth. I could say her mouth... and yes, the whole package is certainly working there... but the "skyline" and "reflection" of her teeth is so freaking unexplainably cute, and sweet, and sexy in a straight to the heart kind of way.

She came into my view funny, and adorable in Chuck, and she has matured as a woman and an actor... whose age looks great on her. She's a smoking hot 40 year old, and she's going to be a smoking hot 70 year old.

Damsel is one of the best fantasy films I've ever seen... and when I say that understand that I do not like the fantasy genre... The Hobbit, LOTR... bore the crap out of me, The fantasy genre for me is Tim Curry in Legend. So for me to have anything to say about the fantasy genre means that I even tried to sit through it in the first place.

Damsel is a well made film... it is tight, to the point, and maintains pacing. Very much more than "watchable" to me. So someone who actually likes fantasy... you do the fuzzy math.

So... brilliant little beauty who shares Winona's dorky adorableness... the universe is a wonderful place.
