USA Network has canceled both “The Purge” and “Treadstone,” TheWrap has confirmed.
The decisions come as the network shifts its programming strategy to focus on live and unscripted programming such as WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” or the network’s reboots of “Temptation Island” and “Biggest Loser.”
USA also recently opted to cancel another of its scripted series, “Dare Me,” after one season.

Both “The Purge” and “Treadstone” have been canceled at USA Network, Variety has confirmed.
“The Purge” aired two seasons on the cabler while “Treadstone” had aired one. Both were produced at least in part by Ucp and based on Universal film franchises, with “Treadstone” being set in the “Bourne” universe.
The cancellations come roughly two weeks after USA canceled freshman drama “Dare Me.” Like many cable networks of late, USA is moving more toward unscripted programming like “Temptation Island” and “The Biggest Loser,” as well as the network’s flagship show “Monday Night Raw” from WWE. The network is also focusing on more event-style scripted programming, like its upcoming Evel Knievel limited series starring Milo Ventimiglia. USA will also air the upcoming second season of “Dirty John,” with Season 1 having aired on fellow NBCUniversal network Bravo.

James DeMonaco and company have slowly been filling in all the gaps regarding The Purge. We've seen how it ended, and we've seen how it has begun, but one of the few things that hasn't been revealed is what happens on the other 364 days in between Purges. The focus has been on the killing and mayhem, but what happens during the hangover period? That's the question that season two of The Purge seems to be focusing on, offering up an all-new cast of characters and discussing just how they deal with all that time when you aren't allowed to kill anyone who bothers you.

USA dropped the first trailer for the second season of “The Purge” on Friday, and it seems like the powers-that-be may be realizing that letting people slaughter each other without consequence may not have been their best idea.
Based on the hit movie franchise, “The Purge” revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Season 2 explores how a single Purge night affects the lives of four interconnected characters over the course of the ensuing year, all inevitably leading up to the next Purge.
“The Purge is making people more violent, not just on Purge but every day of the year,” one character warns in the trailer. Who could possibly have seen that coming?

The stars of USA Network's thriller Falling Water met with reporters during a set visit this fall, and they were passionate about what lies ahead on Season 2.
Lizzy Brochere (Tess), David Ajala (Burton), Will Yun Lee (Taka), and Sepideh Moafi (Taka's new partner, Alex) took time out of their shooting schedule to discuss the solid foundation Falling Water set for their characters as well as what to expect as the season kicks off tonight at 9/8c on USA.
Lee thinks it's refreshing that they were able to come back to work with such a foundation for their characters and impressive that Tim Andrew and Raimi Obershon worked with the seeds laid during Falling Water Season 1.
He said, "It's one of those shows where it's character building in the first season, but they dropped so many different seeds. And what they've done is taken those seeds and created a world of rules,...

Showrunner Raimi Obershon and director Tim Andrew consider themselves Team Falling Water, and even though they are new to the series beginning with the upcoming second season, I'm inclined to agree.
Going into its second season, Falling Water follows the story of three unrelated people who discover they are sharing different parts of the same dream. They are all invested in it for different reasons and it the dream has different waking life repercussions for each. The stakes are high.
According to Obershon and Andrew, Falling Water is going to receive a shot of adrenaline, and in the first of two pieces before the premiere on USA Network tomorrow night, you'll find out for yourself what to expect from the one of a kind drama during Falling Water Season 2.
The way Obershon explains it, he and Andrew were "brought in to kind of take what was wonderfully done in the...

5.19 The Beast Of Beacon Hills
One of the reasons why the fifth season of Teen Wolf has been a little bit disappointing was the lack of humour. However, with the brief return of Coach, it seems like Teen Wolf has decided to add a little more comedy back into its mix of comedy and horror. It's still a show full of rampaging monsters, blood splattering, and weird steampunk torture devices, but occasionally the show cracks jokes, too. This week felt like a bit more like what we got from the second season of Teen Wolf, right down to Stiles being a bit bumbling and adorable, with plenty of tension with Lydia.

Teen Wolf has been good television this season. Good, but not great. There's been a definitely sense of something missing this year, and I haven't been quite sure what it is. There's been a significant elevation of violence, and a significant elevation in stakes—it's not just one werewolf looking to kill another werewolf or two and get some revenge anymore, it's a Hellhound and a Beast battling over the fate of Beacon Hills, if not all of humanity. We're not just dealing with four main cast members, we're up to at least twelve main cast members, and probably another six to eight regularly recurring characters who have names, personalities, and relationships with each other.

Teen Wolf's latest episode is overstuffed with characters and unconvincing CGI, making it a rare misstep for the show...
This review contains spoilers.
5.12 Damnatio Memoriae
One of the rare places where Teen Wolf is let down is in the show's use of CGI. They do their best to keep it rare, to save it for sweetening moments, but very rarely do they just build creatures whole hog out of digital effects. That's probably a good move; if movies, which have tens of millions of dollars to spend, can't make convincing CGI creatures, why would a television show think they could shoot around digital effects? Teen Wolf indulges in it rarely, because it doesn't really work on their scale, and that's part of the problem with Damnatio Memoriae.
One of the things that the Dread Doctors have been attempting to do with all their experiments is to create the ultimate killing machine.

The first promo has been released for next week’s brand new episode of Supernatural, the amusingly titled “Plush.” I feel that it really is worth a viewing or two because it somewhat harkens back to the earlier years of the show when each new trailer was tailored for that specific episode, making it look like a unique horror movie. This is not entirely in that vein, but fans of the show will certainly be able to see why I drew that parallel.
As for the content of the episode, Sheriff Donna, who seems to be developing a cult following of her own, calls upon the Winchester boys when a bizarre murder occurs in her hamlet that may require their expertise. The trailer leads us to believe that ghost possession is the cause of the matter, though we must consider other possibilities because trailers often employ the art of misdirection.

Sheriff Donna Returns — Sheriff Donna (guest star Briana Buckmaster) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help after a horrific murder with supernatural elements happens in her town. Sam continues to have visions and asks God for help, which frustrates Dean. Tim Andrew directed the episode written by Eric Charmleo & Nicole Snyder (#1107). In the show’s tenth season, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles) faced their most personal threat yet. The all-powerful Mark of Cain threatened to consume Dean, turning him into one of the monsters he has spent his life hunting. Meanwhile, a formidable witch, Rowena (Ruth Connell), rose to power to claim her position at the right hand of the King of Hell, Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard). Once Rowena revealed herself to be Crowley’s mother, the King was forced to choose between his family and the Winchesters — all while Sam, with the...

5.9 Lies Of Omission
Splitting a season into two parts is kind of a bold move for a television show. When The Walking Dead does it, it works out because they're only taking a short break to bypass the holiday season and the Super Bowl, which would eat all of its viewers much like the titular walking dead want to eat all of its cast members. Teen Wolf tried a split season in the third series, but rather than doing one plot stretched out over two different time periods, the show was divided into two ten-episode 3A and 3B seasons, which ended up being very entertaining (particularly 3B). The fourth season was a standard run, but the fifth season is going to be something different—a 20-episode season stretched over two parts,...

5.5. A Novel Approach
I love it when an episode ends on a cliffhanger, then we go right into that very spot we left in the next episode. I don't like waiting around for closure; I want something immediate, and in the case of Teen Wolf this episode, I wasn't left wanting. Indeed, the “last week on” montage ended with Stiles getting grabbed, and then seamlessly the episode starts with Stiles after being grabbed by Donovan and his new toothy leech-like mouth-hand. It's an immediate shot of adrenaline, both for the viewer and for Stiles, who escapes his tormentor and saves his own life by breaking one of Scott McCall's only rules: Stiles killed Donovan. Sure, he killed him by dropping a bunch of metal pieces on him and impaling him,...

Teen Wolf season 5 has found its feet early on, delivering new awesome villains and dynamic storylines...

5.2 Parasomnia
One of the things Teen Wolf struggles with is introducing new characters. Sometimes they can feel a little bit forced, and there's always a little chemistry difficulty when a new element is added to a cast we've been with for five seasons at this point. Liam was a little difficult last season, and Kira was (and continues to be) a little problematic from a chemistry standpoint. While Kira might not yet feel like she's fitting in, Liam seems to be adapting nicely to the Teen Wolf world, even if the character seems very different from the angry kid we were introduced to last year.
Liam, from a character standpoint, seems a little inconsistent. From last season's little bundle of rage to this season's bouncy, friendly, kind of fun Stiles Jr.

Throughout the duration of Z Nation there have been some gaping flaws and shaky plot turns, and the culminating two episodes suffer because of this, despite being stronger installments in the series. We follow the survivors to the end of their journey, after narrowly escaping another group of foes in “Murphy’s Law”, to the government laboratory where Murphy’s antidotal blood was to be rendered into a vaccine to save the human race, and as to be expected, nothing goes according to plan. It is immediately discovered that instead of a team of good-natured scientists awaiting them, there is a group of deranged mad men lead by the maniacal Dr. Kurian.

Airs Fridays at 10pm Est on Syfy
Z Nation came out of the gates in its first few episodes with unapologetic force. Seemingly promising a series that stood firmly against anything melodramatic or clichéd by actively making fun at every turn, the show appeared as though it would be a great palate cleanser for those who are sick of stories about the undead. Unfortunately, the episodes that comprise the last half of this first season have been fairly meager attempts at achieving drama or tension, and “Die, Zombie, Die…Again” is yet another disappointing installment.

He's clearly becoming the bad guy, and probably has been for a while, but he's just so funny and charming that you can't help but appreciate him and be thankful that he's out there plotting to kill pretty much everyone not himself. He has a lot in common with Kate Argent in that way.

Knowing a little bit about how television production works, Teen Wolf's latest episode seems like it could almost be a 'ripped from the headlines' sort of affair. While not intended to capitalize on the Ebola outbreak in western Africa and the fact that the United States is currently bringing two Ebola-infected people to Atlanta (Teen Wolf's old stomping grounds) in an effort to treat the insanely unpleasant and deadly disease, it could not have been timed more perfectly. The United States government is importing fatal diseases and Beacon Hills High School is ground zero for an entirely new disease that's spreading like the gross rashes on the bodies of its victims.

It's been a long time since Teen Wolf paid more than cursory attention to the fact that its central characters are all high school students. There were moments during Kira's introduction in season 3B where the classroom gained some focus, mostly in Mr Yukimura's history classes, but aside from that there's been a lot of Wolf and not a lot of Teen. In particular, when's the last time the Beacon Hills lacrosse team has been a plot point? I think that hasn't been a real factor since season two, if not season one. It turns out, Teen Wolf still has a thing for its version of quidditch, and lacrosse can still be a plot point, especially when it comes to the introduction of new characters.

Lots of California teenagers sneak across the border to Mexico for underage drinking and partying, but very rarely do teenagers sneak across the border to infiltrate a cadre of dangerous killers and hunt down their missing friend/mentor. The teens of Teen Wolf get involved in some crazy shenanigans, and it looks like those shenanigans aren't getting any less crazy as the show enters its fourth season.

“Insatiable”
Written By: Jeff Davis
Directed By: Tim Andrew
Original Airdate: 17 March 2014
In This Episode…
Deaton forcefully removes the demon flies from Isaac and the twins, while Scott heads up the “is it Stiles or is it not?” brigade. Noshiko is there with her oni footmen. They inspect Stiles, then disappear. This Stiles is more Stiles than nogitsune. So now the search begins for nogitsune-Stiles, and Lydia.
The sheriff is relieved to see Stiles and Scott come to the station, but that relief is short-lived, because there is still an evil clone out there. Stiles makes a link in his brain. He remembers Meredith from Echo House and thinks she is the key to finding Lydia. Though no one draws the conclusion that Meredith is also a banshee, it seems fairly obvious from the start. Anyway, the sheriff goes to Echo House and finds out that Meredith...

3.21 The Fox And The Wolf
It's odd to see Teen Wolf tackling a topic like the Japanese internment camps of World War II, if only because Teen Wolf doesn't seem like a particularly topical or historically-oriented show. There's an emphasis on mythology to be sure, but it's not like werewolves are a real thing (as far as I know) and it's not like people really suffer from the effects of lycanthropy like actual Japanese-Americans suffered during internment. However, this week's Teen Wolf spent more time at the internment camp than it has at the high school, and it's kind of beneficial to the show.
The show opens in 1943, with soldiers dumping bodies into a pit. However from the pit rises the illustrious nogitsune, and he's...

Teen Wolf Episode 320
“Echo House”
Written By: Jeff Davis
Directed By: Tim Andrew
Original Airdate: 24 February 2014
In This Episode…
Stiles is being committed to the Echo House for 72 hours. It is a mental institution (the same one Barrow was locked up in), and it is his choice to do this - and his dad is freaking out about it (also because Stiles forgot his pillow, and he can’t sleep without it). Stiles hugs him assuredly and he is taken to his room. On the way, a patient hangs himself in the stairway. Stiles desperately wants to use the phone - he is starting to have second thoughts - but patients are not allowed phone calls for the first 72 hours of their internment. Stiles meets his new roommate, Oliver, who seems friendly enough, even though he sleeps in restraints. Stiles doesn’t sleep - he can’t sleep without his pillow.

Isn't it about time they changed the name to Stiles Wolf? Here's Ron's review of another impressive episode of the supernatural drama...
This review contains spoilers.
3.20 Echo House
One of the easiest creepy locations for any television show to execute is the insane asylum. Call it the crazy house, call it the nut hatch, call it whatever you'd like; having crazy people on television is a nearly-effortless way for any show to generate fright. You don't have to be particularly good at crafting horror for that location, you just throw in some crazy-acting extras, some restrains, some creepy barred doors, and boom, mood achieved.
However, that's a normal television show, not Teen Wolf. I've talked before about how well Teen Wolf does when it brings horror to television. When it wants to be scary, it's a legitimately unnerving programme. When you take that dedication...

Katy Perry did kiss a girl afterall. That girl is none other than Miley Cyrus and it happened on Miley's 'Bangerz Tour' over the weekend in Los Angeles. Reminiscent of the Madonna/ Britney Vma liplock in 2003, Perry staged a kiss with Cyrus in front of cameras during Miley's latest single "Adore You". However, what cameras also caught was Perry pulling away from a more heated make out attempt made by Miley. Perry later tweeted “I adore you @MileyCyrus” including a photo of Perry wiping her mouth after the kiss with Miley open mouthed in the background. Beat that, Liam Hemsworth.

Sneak Peek footage from Season 3 of MTV's "Teen Wolf" and the episode titled "Echo House", airing February 24, 2014, written by Jeff Davis and directed by Tim Andrew.
The series was developed by Jeff Davis for MTV, loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name. The show's central character is 'Scott McCall' (Tyler Posey), a high school student and social outcast who is bitten by a werewolf while looking for a missing girl in the woods.
Scott attempts to maintain a normal life, keeping the fact of his being a werewolf secret from everyone, with the exception of his best friend 'Stiles Stilinski' (Dylan O'Brien), who helps him through the changes in his life and body, and another mysterious werewolf, 'Derek Hale' (Tyler Hoechlin):
"...in 'Echo House', 'Stiles' lands himself in a crazy house after getting drugged..."
Cast also includes Crystal Reed as 'Allison Argent', Scott's love interest and a 'werewolf-hunter',...

Written By: Christian Taylor

Scott gets a panicked call from Stiles in the middle of the night. Something is wrong with him, he doesn’t know where he is, he thinks there is something wrong with his leg, and there is a stench so strong that his eyes water. He begs Scott to come find him, but makes him swear not to tell his dad.
At the same time, Aidan is modeling for Lydia in the art studio at school. He is disappointed because he thought he would be modeling nude. As he begins to strip, Lydia starts to hear whispered voices coming from a speaker where Aidan only hears music.

Whatever Teen Wolf's crazy schemes, it remains a consistently entertaining and well-made show...
This review contains spoilers.
3.18 Riddled
When you get an unexpected phone call in the middle of the night, it's rarely good news. When that phone call is from Stiles, the best friend and erratic voice of the audience on MTV's Teen Wolf, then you're definitely in trouble. As it turns out, Stiles is in a bit of a pickle, or rather, a basement with some sort of bear trap on his foot, and it's up to Scott and the usual gang of teenagers to help find and rescue Stiles before his dad finds out and gets too worried.
It seems weird to be so full of praise for Dylan O'Brien, but of all the young actors on the show, he's the one that remains the most impressive, week in and week out.

“More Bad Than Good”
Written By: Jeff Davis
Directed By: Tim Andrew
Original Airdate: 13 January 2014
In This Episode…
Picking up where we left off last week, Stiles and Scott are in the woods and they find a coyote den, filled with belongings that were last seen on Malia. She is a were-coyote, not a werewolf, but so far, it seems that all the hallmarks of the condition are the same. Scott is still scared that if he goes full-wolf, he won’t be able to return to human, so they call in the sheriff - after all, this is essentially a crime scene. Naturally Agent McCall shows up as well - with Tate, who confirms that these are his daughter’s belongings. Stiles’ theory is that Malia was always a were-coyote, and the night of the accident she shifted, killed her mom and sister, then was so...

The inhabitants of Beacon Hills are psychologically unravelling. Here's Ron's review of More Bad Than Good...
This review contains spoilers.
3.14 More Bad Than Good
Teen Wolf has proven that it can do psychological horror effectively, both in last week's head-tripping return to television (for season 3B) and over the course of its history. That's what makes the show so interesting; it's a good use of the werewolf as a stand-in for teenage angst and puberty, but it's also a good psychological exploration of just what it would mean to go from being a normal teenager in a normal teenage world to someone capable of ripping the average human in half like a phone book, or worse, to be living in a world where every supernatural nightmare creature from folk lore just might end up being true.
Certainly, some people have a harder time handling the transition than others.
