Usually, when writing these lists, we set the halfway point to define the good versus bad. But while “Gilmore Girls” does not lack for adversaries and antagonists, the fact is that so many of these characters have such charms that ranking them was a real challenge.

Only characters who appeared in more than three episodes are included below; even with that said, there are probably some we missed. (That’s what happens with a seven-season show with a rich collection of supporting characters.) Here’s everyone we’ve missed during “Gilmore Girls'” long hiatus — and everyone we haven’t.
72. Mitchum Huntzberger
Hey, remember when this asshole decided to crush the spirits of a talented young woman, because he could? Yeah, this guy can burn in hell.
71. Dean Forester

On March 24th, 1975, struggling actor Sylvester Stallone spent his last few dollars to see boxing champ Muhammad Ali fight Chuck Wepner. Thought to be an easy win, Ali surprisingly met his match: a career brawler who was having the fight of his life. Fifteen rounds and an Ali knockdown later, Wepner lost. But the scrappy no name fighter inspired Stallone, who emerged from a twenty-hour writing binge with a screenplay and an underdog character named Rocky Balboa.
The script quickly became a hot property in Hollywood, and several attempts were made to purchase it for stars like Burt Reynolds and Ryan O’Neal. But Stallone refused, knowing full well that no one could play the part like he could. Stallone eventually got his wish at United Artists, and under director John G. Avildsen, the rest became movie history. Released in 1976, Rocky was a global sensation, winning a Best Picture Oscar...

Jimmy Fallon enlisted Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Short and comedian Colleen Ballinger — who appeared in character as YouTube star Miranda Sings — for a game of Pictionary on The Tonight Show Monday night. It was a ridiculous, heated battle that proved once and for all that the quick-draw game is the ultimate in family fun and fracas.
The team of Seinfeld and Sings went first, with the latter slowly drawing a small piece of mistletoe that left the former so flustered he reverted to his classic exasperated Seinfeld voice, which Fallon quickly...

Kristen Bell is returning to TV in a new comedy series that just got picked up by Showtime called House of Lies which will also star Don Cheadle. Bell is most famous for her role in the hit TV series Veronica Mars. If you haven't watched this show yet, it's time. The whole series is available on Instant Netflix. It's seriously a fantastic show. Since then she's starred in a handful of forgettable romantic comedies.
The new series is based on "Martin Kihn’s hit tell-all book How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time. The story revolves around dueling corporate management consulting firms. Bell plays Jeannie, a razor-sharp Brown grad who reluctantly finds herself attracted to her co-worker Marty (Cheadle). This sounds like a perfect role for Bell to tackle,...

Chicago – There are few character actors in the history of cinema more mesmerizing and fearless than Philip Seymour Hoffman. He’s created some of the most memorable characters ever to grace the screen: from the sexually arrested Allen in “Happiness” and the obsessed playwright Caden Cotard in “Synecdoche, New York” to the electrifying title role in “Capote.”
His brilliant acting career obviously caused the excitement surrounding his feature filmmaking debut to be more than mildly palpable. Yet “Jack Goes Boating” is an unexpectedly benign morsel, with bittersweet tones reminiscent of Jeff Garlin’s equally “Marty”-like, “I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With.” Hoffman’s sweet, shy, schlubby-looking protagonist sports a nearly childlike naïveté that’s as lovable as it is disconcerting.
DVD Rating: 3.0/5.0
Based on Bob Glaudini’s play of the same name, the film centers on the hesitant romance that begins to blossom between two lost souls in New York City.

This week: Will There Be a Third Another Gay Movie? How great is Martha Plimpton? Was Quantum Leap controversial? What was up with the effeminate villain on The Powerpuff Girls?
Have a question about gay male entertainment? Contact me here (and be sure and include your city and state and/or country!)
Q: I’m excited by the new show Raising Hope, mostly because it stars Martha Plimpton, who I think has never gotten her due, and also because it’s created by Greg Garcia, who was responsible for the fantastic My Name is Earl (which also never got its due!). Are my expectations too high? Is there anything gay in it? – Ryan, Albuquerque, Nm
Martha Plimpton
A: Interestingly, Martha Plimpton once sat with her back up against mine in a restaurant booth, along with then-boyfriend, the late River Phoenix, and also Keanu Reeves, who were both just as popular as they could possibly be.
