Following its recent theatrical run, Organ Trail will be available on digital May 12th, and we caught up with co-stars Zoé De Grand’Maison and Olivia Applegate, who talked about preparing for their roles, their favorite on-set experiences, and more!
How did you get involved with Organ Trail and what interested you in being a part of this film?
Zoé De Grand’Maison: I taped the audition in my kitchen, while my best friend read the other characters’ lines with me over Zoom. I do remember having a lot of fun with this audition, though; I put patches of brown eyeshadow all over myself to mimic dirt, and blush around my eyes to give me a “tired” sort of look. I then did a callback over Zoom, and was really excited when I was offered the role. I was interested in being a part of this film because I was really...

Plot: The surviving member of a family massacred by bandits tries to escape from the killers with her family’s horse.
Review: Studios and production companies will often try to get around marketing their horror releases as straightforward horror movies. This is how we get the term “elevated horror”. It’s a marketer’s way of trying to get across the idea that the horror movie they’re promoting isn’t your average horror movie. This is something special, a movie to be held up above that other trash called horror. Given this aversion to accepting the horror label, it’s surprising to see that Paramount has chosen to market director Michael Patrick Jann’s cleverly titled Organ Trail as a “Horror Western”… because by doing so, they have slapped the horror brand on a movie that I wouldn’t have considered to be a horror movie otherwise.

"Who are you running from!?" "Devil..." Paramount Movies has revealed the trailer for an indie western horror thriller titled Organ Trail – yes that title is a purposeful riff on the ol' Oregon Trail. Hopefully no one dies of dysentery watching this junk film... Abigale and her family fall victim to a ruthless gang while making their way across the Oregon Trail. As the only survivor, she will do whatever it takes to retrieve her one earthly possession, her family's horse, from the clutches of the bloodthirsty bandits. Oh yeah, bring it on! Take them down! If she can? Starring Zoé De Grand Maison, Nicholas Logan, Mather Zickel and Olivia Applegate, with Clé Bennett, Sam Trammell, and Jessica Frances Dukes. This seems like a mess of a genre film, with tons of tropes & twists thrown in for no good reason. Probably not worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›...

Last year, we heard the awesome news that Paramount Pictures had given the greenlight to a horror Western project with the brilliant title Organ Trail (inspired by the real life Oregon Trail, a wagon route that connected the Missouri River to valleys in Oregon back in the 1800s). The film has since made its way through production, and while we still don’t know when exactly Paramount intends to release Organ Trail, it has taken an important step toward its release: it has secured a rating from the Motion Picture Association. Organ Trail has earned an R rating for “strong violence, language and some sexual references.”

This article contains She-Hulk spoilers
Apart from Wanda Maximoff, few people have had as much trouble in love as Jennifer Walters in the Marvel Cinematic. Across eight episodes of She-Hulk, we’ve watched Tatiana Maslany’s hotshot lawyer be mocked as little more than a “specimen” by a rogue’s gallery of mediocre males. However, in October 6’s “Ribbit and Rip It,” we saw Jen stick a middle finger to the patriarchy with a deep cut to toxic tropes in pop culture.
Apart from winks like Eternals’ Ikaris bring compared to Superman, the MCU tends to avoid Easter eggs to DC. She-Hulk already walked the line with a nippled costume from Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews) being a potential nod to the infamous Batman & Robin suits, but if you were listening carefully, you might’ve heard a Green Lantern Easter egg. After doing the deed with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jen...

The head writer of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier explains the reasoning behind Lemar Hoskins’ fate in the show.
“In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s fourth episode, the titular pair of former Avengers are on a mission to stop Karli Morgenthau (Erin Kellyman) and her fellow Flag-Smashers. The group’s ill-defined plan puts them at odds with John Walker (Wyatt Russell), the U.S. government’s newly christened Captain America, and his fellow soldier, Lemar Hoskins (Clé Bennett). Head writer Malcolm Spellman recently discussed the implications of their big fight.”

On National Superhero Day, let’s take a look at the various phones of some of pop culture’s favorite superheroes.
“In comic books, telepathy is commonplace. In superhero TV shows and movies, heroes are more likely to whip out a phone. And it’s often not a high-tech, imaginary phone, but one that really exists.

Spoiler Warning: Do not read if you have not seen Season 1, Episode 4 of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” streaming now on Disney Plus.
Arguably one of the grittiest moments in the MCU films — or what counts for gritty in this world, anyway — comes in the form of Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes and Tony Stark duking it out at the end of “Captain America: Civil War.”
After Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl) reveals that a brainwashed Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) had years ago murdered Tony’s parents, Tony is furious to learn that Captain America had known about it all along, pummeling Steve and blasting off Bucky’s bionic arm. The protracted fight culminates in a question, as Steve wrenches off Tony’s Iron Man mask and raises his shield high above his head, seemingly ready to bring it down on a prone, helmet-less Tony: Could Captain America actually bring himself to deliberately murder someone?...

The new Captain America in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is going over about as well as New Coke. Wyatt Russell, who plays John Walker on the Disney+ series, was hoping to stir such a negative response from fans.
“That’s the goal,” he told TheWrap. “I think people had a fun reaction.”
Walker fully stepped into the role of Captain America during last week’s episode, which included frequent tenuous moments with a not-very-happy Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and an even-angrier Bucky (Sebastian Stan). The lack of respect the two give John in his early days with the shield plays into his own insecurities. “He doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel good anytime ever you don’t get accepted by somebody,” Russell adds. “You feel s—y about yourself. Right?”

Already, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ has demonstrated the immense potential of expanding big comic book stories to a serialized weekly format. The first episode introduced two potential antagonists to the titular heroes: the ‘Flag Smashers’ and John Walker, the new Captain America. Yet, the second episode opens right off the bat with a softer side of Walker. We see him nervously preparing for his introduction, receiving pep talks from both his loving wife Olivia (Gabrielle Byndloss) and his devoted ally Lemar Hoskins a.k.a. Battlestar (Clé Bennett). We might have expected Walker to come across as arrogant and hyper-aggressive, but he’s nervous and self-effacing. Related article: Episode...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” Episode 2, “The Star-Spangled Man.”]
Finally! After the table setting of the premiere, viewers simply had to wait seven minutes and 25 seconds into the second episode of Disney+’s “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” to see its titular heroes reunite… and immediately begin bickering like a sitcom couple. James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) have long been the most consistent comedic duo in the MCU, and this episode showcased not only the obvious chemistry they have whilst bantering, but the potential emotional depths they might mine together over the course of the series.
So, what’s the inciting event that brings them together? Well, it’s the reappearance of Steve Rogers’ Vibranium Shield in the arms of a new Captain America, John Walker (Wyatt Russell). That’s right, Cap is Back (as the posters plastered all over the Air...

The Man in the High Castle season 4 may be the show’s final run, but the alt-history implications this year may bring the best story yet.

This spoiler-free review of The Man in the High Castle is based on viewing the first five episodes.
The Man in the High Castle has had its ups and downs over the past three seasons, but if the first episodes of season 4 made available for review are any indication of the season to come, this may be one of those rare instances where a series improves with age. Although the political plot of the Pacific States is stuck on repeat, storylines involving John Smith and Juliana Crain are, as usual, the highlight of the series, and a new twist on the Resistance provides plenty of action and intrigue. Luckily, the opening of possibilities for trans-dimensional travel is treated with admirable subtlety,...

I got the opportunity this week to watch the film Lucky Day, which was written and directed by Roger Avary, who wrote alongside Tarantino for Pulp Fiction, which this film felt like an homage or distant cousin to. The action/revenge flick stars Luke Bracey as Red, a safe-cracking thief who has just gotten out of prison, his beautiful wife, a french artist played by Nina Dobrev, their daughter, Ella Ryan Quinn, his best friend and literal partner in crime, Clé Bennett, their nanny, Nadia Farès, and Red’s hardened parole officer, Clifton Collins Jr., and Crispin Glover plays Luc, the assassin hellbent on a revenge mission that includes taking Red out for good.
Each portrayal was quirky, honest, and darkly funny. I was able to interview the actors Nina Dobrev and Crispin Glover about their experiences in portraying these characters, and we spoke a bit about what they each have coming up.

Lionsgate has released a super fun red-band trailer for an awesome looking action revenge thriller called Lucky Day. The movie comes from writer and director Roger Avary, who is best known as the co-writer of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
The story for the film follows Red (Luke Bracey), a safe cracker who has just been released from prison. As he is trying to hold his family together his past catches up with him in the form of Luc (Crispin Glover), a psychopathic contract killer who's seeking revenge for the death of his brother.
It’s always great to see Glover get great weird roles, and the character he plays in Lucky Day is a fantastic role for him! Just wait till you see him in action and what his character is like. The film also stars Nina Dobrev, Ella Ryan Quinn, Clé Bennett, Nadia Farès, and Clifton Collins Jr....

"Ugh I just got out of the joint, mate, literally this morning." Lionsgate has released one final red band trailer for the Us release of Lucky Day, the latest from the infamous writer / director Roger Avary (best known as the co-writer of Tarantino's Pulp Fiction). We've featured two other trailers for this already, but one more can't hurt. Right? If anyone even cares. Lucky Day stars Luke Bracey as Red, a safe cracker who has just been released from prison, trying to hold his family together as his past catches up to him in the form of Luc, played by Crispin Glover, a psychopathic contract killer who's seeking revenge for the death of his brother. The Private Eyes TV show is the first Ion TV series we've tracked, so we're still getting a feel for what its ratings mean to the cable network. The Canadian series' success on Canada's Global Television means more to its overall cancellation or renewal chances, and it has already been renewed for season three north of the border, so that's one hurdle cleared. Now, will Private Eyes be cancelled or renewed for season three on Ion? Stay tuned.

When bodies start turning up around the city, it seems that Jigsaw may have returned. With him being dead though, is it the work of a copycat, or has Kramer somehow returned from the grave ten years after his reign of terror?

Some lucky moviegoers in several countries around the world will get to see Thor: Ragnorak this weekend. American audiences, however, will have to choose between another movie in the Saw franchise and a race-themed drama from George Clooney. Jigsaw should have no trouble outpacing Clooney's Suburbicon as American moviegoers, for the most part, wait for Thor's domestic release next week.

Get ready for horror to once again top the North American box office, while George Clooney's star-studded, dark satire Suburbicon may find little pre-Halloween love from audiences.
Lionsgate's fright-fest Jigsaw — reviving the marquee Saw franchise — is the clear favorite to win the weekend with a debut of $20 million or more from 2,800 theaters, including Imax locations. Horror has been the big headline of the 2017 box office so far, led by New Line's blockbuster It.

‘Jigsaw‘ has revealed it’s first trailer and a new teaser poster. It’s been seven whole long years since we were last graced with the release of a Saw film, with the previous entry in the franchise ‘Saw 3D‘ released in 2010. Although Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell, is set to return — we still don’t know to what capacity.
The film was originally titled ‘Saw: Legacy‘ but was then changed to ‘Jigsaw‘ after principal photography was completed. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger wrote the script, and Michael and Peter Spierig directed the film, which is due for an October 2017 release. The sequel stars Callum Keith Rennie as “Halloran”, Clé Bennett as “Det. Keith”, and Laura Vandervoort as “Anna”.
Here’s the official trailer and poster for ‘Jigsaw‘:
