It’s no surprise that when the social experiment of “Survivor” began in 2000, it would produce some of reality TV’s sexiest flings ever. When Colleen Haskell and Greg Buis began flirting on Season 1 it was a bit of a surprise to viewers, but now the terms “showmance” and “power couple” are as common as “immunity challenge” and “tribal council.” Over the course of 44 seasons and more than two decades, contestants have put aside bad breath, limbs scarred from bug bites and their saggy, dirty swimsuits in order to find each other attractive enough to, yes, fall in love. In our photo gallery above, we detail 15 of the most iconic “Survivor” showmances of all time.

Even though more than 600 castaways have played the game of “Survivor” over the past two decades, fans have never forgotten B.B. Andersen. This original cast member from the iconic first season was the second person voted off the island when he was 64 years old. After the show wrapped, B.B. lived for another 13 years until his death at age 77 from brain cancer. (He’s one of six dead “Survivor” castaways — see photos above.) Let’s all raise a torch to the late B.B. Andersen, who was voted out of “Survivor: Borneo” 20 years ago this week.

This week marks the 20th anniversary of one of the most iconic gross-out moments in reality TV: Gervase Peterson eating grub worms on the second episode of the first season of “Survivor.” The date was June 7, 2000. Gervase’s Pagong tribe had won the previous week’s inaugural immunity challenge and was spared from voting someone out at tribal council, so they came into this second challenge with a lot to lose. All they had to do was eat grub worms faster than their Tagi tribe counterparts, and a fresh-faced Jeff Probst would give them the immunity idol again. How did it all play out? Watch the “Survivor: Borneo” flashback video above.

Warning: The following story contains spoilers from the Season 37 finale of “Survivor.”
On December 19, 2018 Nick Wilson became the 37th winner of CBS’s reality TV show, joining such iconic champs as Richard Hatch (Season 1), Sandra Diaz-Twine (Season 7 and 20) and Wendell Holland (Season 36). In all 22 men have prevailed while women have accounted for 15 victories. For a refresher on the complete list, click through our photo gallery above that highlights all of the past “Survivor” winners through the years.

The show’s original champ made history in 2000 when he beat Kelly Wiglesworth by a narrow 4-3 vote thanks in part to Greg Buis asking them to pick a number between 1 and 10. After a memorable tribal council in which Sue Hawk called Richard a rat and Kelly a snake, novice host Jeff Probst named Richard as the first-ever Sole Survivor.

They often wear glasses. Their brain power generally compensates for any lack of brawn. They can be quite handy when it comes to strategizing and puzzle solving. And self-deprecating humor is often their secret weapon. Let’s hear it for the “Survivor” super nerds and give them some love.
There are two endearing prime examples of this species on the current Season 37, “David vs. Goliath”: Christian Hubicki, 32, a bespectacled robotics scientist, 32, from Florida and his female counterpart, Gabby Pascuzzi, 25, a bookish Colorado-based technical writer. So far, both members of the David fellowship have played a good enough social and mental game to form a connection to the alpha males and others on the Goliath team now that both tribes have merged. In fact, last week’s cliff-hanger of a Tribal Council with multiple versions of immunity idols saved Christian’s neck.

“Survivor” has made many changes to its game over the past 30 seasons. Those range from the introduction of the hidden immunity idol to twists such as Redemption Island. The CBS show has cast the same people three or four times, and it has cast people related to returning players. Now, “Survivor” is about to make its most dramatic casting change in its history: allowing viewers to vote for returning "Survivor" players for one of the two seasons that will air next year. This takes the show farther down a dangerous path than it has ever gone before. Here’s how it will work. There is a pool of 40 returning "Survivor" contestants, identified by a “Survivor” spoiler known as Redmond on Twitter, who will be narrowed in half by viewer votes. They include season-one players such as Kelly Wiglesworth and Greg Buis; season two’s Jeff Varner and Kimmi Kappenberg; and...

There have been few cinematic creations quite like Dom Hemingway this year, a character portrayed by Jude Law by such intensity, convulsion and effervescence – making it a real joy to meet the man behind him, as we caught up with Dom Hemingway’s writer and director, Richard Shepard.
The American filmmaker discusses his moulding of such an explosive role, and the challenge in taking Law, and stripping him of his inherent charm and good looks. He also speaks about Law’s role behind the scenes, striking the balance between comedy and tragedy, and explain that opening scene…
So I’ll start by asking about the very first scene…
What about it?
Well, it was somewhat surprising, a quite in-you-face introduction. Can you tell us the reason for starting your film so boldly?
When I was writing my script, I almost didn’t know what the movie would be about, I...

Rupert Boneham came into Survivor: Blood vs. Water predicting a one-two finish for him and his wife Laura. He got first, alright. Unfortunately for him, it ended up being first one out. Rupert called into Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) to talk with Jessica Shaw and me all about his short stint on the island, and we now present that interview for you here on the InsideTV Podcast. Does he regret swapping places with wife Laura and sending himself to Redemption Island? How was his time there with non-Rupert fan Candice? Are other Survivors jealous of his popularity with fans?...

Since the Marvel Universe was conceived of in the much less diverse days of the early 1960s, the majority of the characters that have risen to prominence are straight, white and male (looking your way, every member of The Avengers other than Black Widow). And while Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't completely lacking in diversity, most of the women there served as a love interests (Pepper Potts, Betty Ross, Jane Foster and Peggy Carter) and there were even fewer characters of color (James Rhodes as War Machine and the Ultimate version of Nick Fury, himself previously Caucasian in the comics).
Things look to be improving for Phase Two, with characters like Sif and War Machine getting prominent placement and Falcon and Sharon Carter suiting up for action. But we think Marvel can really strive for diversity by utilizing some of the great characters mentioned below in Phase Three.

During Wednesday's Survivor recap show, we learned that NaOnka has a heart, that Kelly Purple has a voice, that Sash has a final-two deal with every lady in New York, and that Fabio has surpassed Boo as the most injury-prone Survivor ever. But because no strategy played out, there will be no Fishies. Instead, I'm going to present my five nominees for Fancast's upcoming Survivor Hall of Fame. I'm ambivalent about these Hall of Fame shenanigans. For one thing, an enormous amount of luck goes into Survivor. Sometimes an amazing player will simply be at the mercy of events [Guatemala's Brian Corridan comes to mind]. For another,...
