This episode of Broadway Rewind has BroadwayWorld'sRichard Ridge dropping by Kleinfeld Bridalto meet the cast of one of Ridge's favorite musicals, A Catered Affair, which featured a book by Harvey Fierstein and a beautiful score by John Bucchino. The musical welcomed back to Broadway Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein, and the guests were treated to a number from the show by co-stars Leslie Kritzer and Matt Cavanaugh. Fierstein told Ridge, 'The whole experience has been joyful. You bring in these actors who have so easily taken over these roles. Between you and me, you know when you have a show that has a breakout performance, it's unbelievable. We've got three in the show. You've got Faith Prince, who is playing a role she was born to play. No one has seen her do anything like this. Tom Wopat, who has never created a role on Broadway, he has only done revivals,...

Jenn Colella is a bona fide Broadway leading lady. She has starred in numerous shows on and off Broadway including High Fidelity, Chaplin, and The Beebo Brinker Chronicles. Hey, not many people get to say that their Broadway debut (Urban Cowboy) also happened to be in a leading role. Jenn is a true triple threat whose star is always on the rise. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jenn a few times over the years, and she is as lovely as she is talented. Her performances are show stealers, and her powerhouse belt and comedic timing easily make her one of Broadway’s great, young stars. The out actress talked to AfterEllen recently about her life on the boards.

A little over two years ago, AfterElton.com brought readers a list of the 37 Hottest Guys in Theater, and since then, the New York Stage has only become increasingly sexified. The lines between Broadway and Hollywood continue to blur, and as young men come to recognition in NYC, they're often quickly whisked away to Tinseltown to showcase not only their amazing talent, but often they're breathtaking good looks.
While it's tempting to include every Hollywood hottie who graces the stage on this list (a certain Lee Pace and Luke Macfarlane spring to mind), the point here is to honor the men who are mostly known for rockin' the live stages here in New York.
And so, without further ado, we present, in alphabetical order, the list (39!) of this year's hottest guys in theater!

Kyle Dean Massey in Next to Normal (Photo credit Joan Marcus)
Kyle Dean Massey, one of Broadway’s brightest young stars, is illuminating and electrifying in Next to Normal, the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical about a bipolar mom and her family. The out and proud, 5-foot-10 hunk plays Gabe, the dashing and dynamic 18-year-old son, and Massey reaches new heights whether he’s racing up the show’s three-level jungle gym of a set, or hitting a high B when he belts Gabe’s big solo, “I’m Alive.”
So far, he has racked up about 500 performances and won Broadway.com’s award for Favorite Male Replacement.
Tom Kitt, the show’s Tony-winning composer, raves, “It would be challenging for anyone to take over a role from Aaron Tveit [who’s gone on to do TV’s Gossip Girl and the film Howl], but Kyle Dean’s made the role his own. He’s a beautiful actor with an exquisite voice and he’s incredibly moving.

Thanks to the Internet, a headshot and résumé don't have to be an actor's sole calling card anymore. A website can help you raise your visibility and spotlight your talent. And just as a quality headshot and résumé can brand you an astute pro, so can a top-notch website. But the opposite is also true: A confusing or inferior site can frustrate casting directors. So consider the following advice from some Web-savvy sources.Cost Not only is there the cost of designing and building your website to consider; there's also the fee for registering the domain name (the www.yournamehere.com address) and another for hosting your site on a server, as well as the cost to update the site regularly—unless you're tech-savvy enough to do it yourself. Expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars to $1,000 or more, depending on the designer and how much content you have,...

Was Tom Jones a chicken thief? A Welsh village thought he ran off with their prize chicken, and had banned the crooner for forty years. They just lifted the ban this week. No word from Jones on the subject.

Broadway will be well represented on the musical front in 2011. Add Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which is casting up for a March opening, most likely at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on W. 46th Street. I'm told that West Side Story's Matt Cavenaugh is in talks to play Adam/Felicia, the role played by Guy Pearce in the 1994 film, with Hair's Will Swenson in talks to play Tick/Mitzy, the role played onscreen by Hugo Weaving. Tony Sheldon will play Bernadette, the role originated onscreen by Terence Stamp. The stage musical originated in Australia, with book by Stephan Elliott and [...]...

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, yesterday!
My birthday festivities usually fall close to Tony Awards night. So today I can let my inner theater geek out -- is it "inner" if everyone knows about it?. I'll probably tweet the actual ceremony... but if you're into Broadway and you don't mind spoilers there's already people tweeting from the dress rehearsal including Jane Fonda, Just Jared and Broadway World's Robert Diamond . In the meantime I thought I'd catch you up on a few recent stage shows that I haven't really discussed. As per usual, many of them have movie connections. But mostly I'm here to talk about West Side Story which is up for four TONYs tonight: Best Musical Revival, Best Actress, Best Featured Actress (Karen Olivo as "Anita") and Best Lighting Design.
Anita center (she's gonna get her kicks tonii-iiii-iight. she'll have
a private little mix tonii-iii-iight) and her fellow PRs.

When you're in a hit Broadway musical that both fans and critics are crazy about, there's nothing like it. A movie can keep piling up huge grosses, but Broadway stars get to go out onstage night after night and actually feel the wave of excitement from fans. For actor Matt Cavenaugh, who stars as Tony in West Side Story, it's also a moment he fully appreciates. "I started off my career in what Entertainment Weekly called the worst show of 2003," laughs the 30 year old from Jonesboro, Arkansas about his debut in the musical version of Urban Cowboy. So he is savoring the moment of appearing on Broadway in the show that he saw as a kid and first got him excited about the theater. "Tuesdays can be a drag sometimes in the theater," says Cavenaugh about the beginning of...

Hollywood is famous for its abundance of hot actors, but the New York theater has its own cadre of guys who are seething with sex appeal. Here's our tribute to some of the fabulous fellows you're likely to find performing on stage in NYC. We tried to cast a wide net, so in addition to such pretty Broadway faces as Cheyenne Jackson and Matt Cavenaugh, you'll find less well-known but no less smokin' hot men who have made their mark Off- and Off-Off-Broadway.
We'd love to have your feedback, but before you begin noting who we left out, please know the criteria we used for our selections. We wanted to focus on men who are truly part of the fabric of New York theater, so we leaned toward those who've been consistently active in this arena over the past few years and/or have had two or more major roles during that time.

West Side Story returned to where it all began for the show in 1957, the National Theatre in Washington, DC. official out of town performance period. West Side Story played a limited engagement at the National with the final "Somewhere" being sung "Tonight" (forgive us-but too easy) January 17th, 2009. The cast will next bring the classic story to life on the stage of The Palace Theatre on Febuary 23rd, the first scheduled preview performance. West Side Story's official Opening Night on Broadway is set for March 19th, 2009. The producers of West Side Story have assembled a dynamic cast for the new Broadway production. The cast of 37 stars Matt Cavenaugh (A Catered Affair, Grey Gardens) as "Tony," Karen Olivo (In the Heights) as "Anita," Cody Green (Movin' Out) as "Riff" and George Akram (The Farrelly's Stuck on You) as "Bernardo." The role of "Maria" will be played by Broadway newcomer Josefina Scaglione.
