Exclusive: Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is partnering with Ben and Max Berkowitz of Not a Billionaire and Starburns Industries (Rick & Morty) to construct The Forever House, an eerie showcase described as a “high-concept anthology series inspired by international folklore.”
The live-action show will center on the title abode, a mysterious piece of un-real estate and a one-of-a-kind repository for otherworldly objects and international artifacts with dark histories. The logline: “Existing somewhere between reality and nightmares, The Forever House will encapsulate the feeling of an ancient tale told by the fire as we explore the disturbing and the macabre from the mind and sketchbook of Mike Mignola.”
Mignola is a superstar artist and IP creator in the comic book world thanks in large part to Hellboy, the hard-luck supernatural hero introduced in the pages of Dark Horse Comics in 1994. The pimento-colored Hellboy has been the title character of three theatrically released feature films,...

Living in the world of Charlie Kaufman, as we all do, everything is ultimately Charlie Kaufman – as if to prove this, Charlie Kaufman is to adapt the Charlie Kaufman play Anomalisa, written and directed by Charlie Kaufman. The play concerns Michael, a motivational speaker who experiences great success in motivating others while leading a completely worthless and pointless life himself.
Of the original cast, David Thewlis, Tom Noonan and Jennifer Jason Leigh will appear in the 50 minute film, scripted and co-directed by Charlie Kaufman alongside Duke Johnson. The film is notable for being financed entirely through crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, raising double the required budget of $200,000 (making $400,000, maths whizz) and ensuring great times for all. HanWay will be taking the film to Cannes, and Duke Johnson has promised to “bring a new style of animation to an audience for whom animated films are not usually made – adultineers,” whatever that means.

Community's December 9 animated Christmas episode, in which Abed (Danny Pudi) learns the meaning of Christmas (and which featured a shout-out to TV Guide Magazine!), is a holiday miracle in itself. As overseen by 23D Films owners James Fino (who previously worked on King of the Hill) and Joe Russo (The Simpsons), the stop-motion animation was completed in four months, less than half the time it takes to produce an episode of The Simpsons.
"We needed every ounce of that time," Fino says. "It couldn't be whipped off. We had to be at the top of our games." Animators from the movies Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas also contributed their talents.
