Since the February 2nd episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock has made a return to WWE programming, hinting at his regular appearances leading up to WrestleMania 40. His ongoing feud with Cody Rhodes implies that The Great One will play a significant role in WWE in the coming weeks. With that said, there was also a time when The Great One refused to travel with his old tag team partner, due to one big reason.
The Rock
Fans are eagerly anticipating a potential showdown between The Rock and Roman Reigns, but there’s also a collective desire to ensure that Cody Rhodes’ storyline isn’t overshadowed. Initially, there were concerns about this imbalance, but a more balanced approach has been adopted. As a result, there has been a shift in the trajectory of WrestleMania 40’s storyline. However, fans are now genuinely enjoying the direction it has taken, especially after the initial backlash.

Well, well, well, it seems that Dwayne Johnson might be allegedly misusing his powers in the WWE, and the act was witnessed by millions. However, it is unsure whether the statements were part of a story or whether The Rock was really threatening WWE stars. All we know is that things are about to get interesting.
With Dwayne Johnson becoming a board member of the Tko group, The Rock has some powers to his name. Charging as an authoritative figure, The Rock threatened Seth Rollins that he could take the title of the World Champion away from him and according to a source, Triple H is also allegedly involved in the scene!
Dwayne Johnson tackling John Cena at WrestleMania 27
Is The Rock Threatening WWE Stars Now?
Let us make our points a bit more clearly. This could all be a part of a script. Well. script or not, The Rock...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Ruby Soho & Skye Blue def. Nikki Victory & Megan Meyers
My Thoughts: You would’ve expected a squash match here but that’s not what we got. Victory and Meyers instead held their own, for the most part, against Soho and Blue. I really dig Megan Meyers look – the horror fan in me can appreciate another genre fan for sure!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Parker Boudreaux def. Casey Carrington
My Thoughts: Now This was a squash match! Former Nxt star Parker Boudreaux played the Brock Lesnar card and made short work of Carrington, who only got two hits in before Boudreaux finished him off.

Welcome to this review of a special Thursday night episode of Aew Dark: Elevation, which precedes this week’s Rampage And Saturday’s Battle of the Belts 3 show. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Hikaru Shida def. Emi Sakura
My Thoughts: This was a hard-hitting women’s match between two ladies who have the experience in the ring and with each other to make this one look super-competitive. This one went back and forth, with Sakura seemingly getting the upper hand before Shida stole the win in her usual inimitable style!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Mance Warner def. Serpentico
My Thoughts: Mance Warner makes his Aew debut on this special episode of Elevation before facing Jon Moxley on Rampage! Nice tune-up for Warner, against an opponent...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Julia Hart def. Lmk
My Thoughts: Julia Hart’s transformation continues… Like last week, ere her character work was at the fore, with a determined walk to the ring, a stalking of her opponent (which I think is Really working for Hart) and a vicious streak that saw her slap the crap out of Lmk. Onwards and upwards for Hart methinks!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Leila Grey def. Jc
My Thoughts: It’s clear Aew see something in Leila Grey, given that she’s had numerous matches now And she’s been lined up as a baddie replacement on the main shows too.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Angelico and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) def. Ar Fox, Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis
My Thoughts: There was nothing remarkable about this match as Private Party continue to coast along and not live up to the hype of their signing back at the beginning of Aew. In fact, Private Party on Being the Elite is Better than Private Party in the ring! So in the end we get an average score for an average match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Angelica Risk...

This time around we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Bobby Fish def. Blake Li
My Thoughts: This felt very much like Bobby Fish getting back into the swing of things after not being on TV for a few weeks. Other than that this was your typical Aew quasi-squash match.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Skye Blue and Brittany

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which was filmed prior to Blood and Guts last Wednesday. We’ve got Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary and a mere six matches to cover. So let’s get to it!
Match #1: Anna Jay def. Megan Meyers
My Thoughts: Megan Meyers looks the part that’s for sure. She reminded me of Abadon but less monstrous and terrifying. She showed some promise too, taking it to Anna Jay – which means this was, you guessed it, an Aew quasi-squash match!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Best Friends def. Isaiah Broner and Gpa
My Thoughts: This was another quasi-squash with Broner and Gpa given enough room by Best Friends to put in some offence. Broner looked impressive both in size and strength whilst Gpa brought the skills. Nice to see Chuck Taylor get the pin this week too!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur, Anthony Ogogo and Mark Henry on commentary once again… Let’s get into it!
Match #1: Anna Jay def. Heather Reckless
My Thoughts: This was a quasi-squash, with Heather Reckless given a couple of chances to get a shot in on Anna Jay, otherwise this was all Anna – a woman who’s literally getting better and better each and every time she wrestles. It helps that you’ve got someone like Reckless as an opponent – she can really sell a move!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Powerhouse Hobbs & Rocky Starks def. Jordan Kross & Joey Jett
My Thoughts: What’s not to love about Hobbs & Starks? Plus this week we actually get Taz come out with them and stand ringside! Kross...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur, Anthony Ogogo and Mark Henry on commentary and Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez re-teaming for more women’s tag action! Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez def. Heather Reckless and Tootie Lynn
My Thoughts: Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez are re-teaming once again for more tempestuous women’s tag team wrestling. The duo work together on a knife-edge and it has brought an interesting air of tension to their matches so far – and this one’s no different. Like their last pairing, this was an example of an Aew quasi-squash match, with Deeb and Martinez giving Heather Reckless and Tootie Lynn a modicum of space to Try and get some offence in!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which sees the show get back to a longer card, featuring seven matches this week. We’ve got Excalibur and Mark Henry on commentary and the Dark Order in Another main event! Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Nyla Rose def. Max the Impaler
My Thoughts: Well Max the Impaler certainly has an interesting look! Max was also a fantastic foil for Nyla, seemingly matching her beat for beat. This one could have done with more time and a not-so-quick ending. But hey ho, we’re back to quick matches packed in a short amount of time on Dark and Elevation it seems.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Private Party def. Camaro Jackson and Sk Bishop
My Thoughts: I’m not the biggest fan of Private Party but I do like it when they treat matches more seriously.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation which has a short run time and a four-match card. I could honestly get used to these shorter shows! On commentary this week we have Paul Wight, Mark Henry And Tony Schiavone. Let’s get right into the action, which comes from the Kia Forum (aka The Forum) in Los Angeles, California.
Match #1: The Factory def. Dark Order
My Thoughts: This was a good, but not great, match. The kind of match you can watch without really paying attention to it and still know exactly what’s going on. Can’t believe Dark Order lost to The factory though, it looks like the faction are back to losing match after match, week after week. Do we need an injection of new blood into Dark Order? Probably.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’re back to just Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and this week’s show is another short card, featuring 6 matches this week. Let’s get right into the action!
Match #1: Ethan Page def. Jd Griffey
My Thoughts: Griffey had a decent showing here in this quasi-squash match, but this one was Ethan Page’s to lose. It’s good to see Page actually wrestling on Aew television and not just cutting promos. Maybe now Scorpio Sky has the TNT Title spotlight that some of the spotlight will rub off on Page. Here’s Hoping!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Roh Women’s Title Match – Mercedes Martinez def. Hyan
My Thoughts: Mercedes Martinez gave Texas local Hyan a Lot of room here. It even looked like she was doing Hyan’s moves for her at one point!

Match #1: Bear Bronson def. Brandon Cutler
My Thoughts: This was the usual Brandon Cutler match. A squash but one that saw Cutler up to his usual antics and comedy wrestling style. Unfortunately for Cutler Bear Bronson took this one a bit more seriously and got the quick win.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Brody King def. Alex Reynolds
My Thoughts: Another quick squash match for Elevation as Brodie King. Well it wasn’t a Total squash, with Reynolds at least getting some good offence in against the more powerful Brody King. And it was power that won the day here.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #3: Anna Jay and Yuka Sakazaki def.

My Thoughts: Dark Order opens the show this week rather than closes but we still get the same squash match from them. Though given their opponents that’s to be expected. I’m guessing we have to get used to this new finisher from 10 and Evil Uno too given that Stu Grayson has left Aew and his long-term tag teammate.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’ve got Excalibur, Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and an 8-match card. Let’s get right into the action!
Match #1: Julia Hart def. Abby Jane
My Thoughts: Abby Jane makes her Aew debut in a squash match against Julia Hart, who’s clearly been taking lessons from someone in the back – unleashing a couple of chops on Jane that sounded like they really hurt! Hart is still selling the black mist, this week the dark patch under her eye is significantly bigger than previously; and she’s getting more and more aggressive. Perhaps we’re due the final turn for Hart real soon?
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Anthony Ogogo def. Goldy
My Thoughts: Another squash match for Anthony Ogogo. Though it looks like, as with Julia Hart, some improvements have been since his last televised match.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’ve got Excalibur, Mark Henry and Paul Wight on commentary and an 8-match card featuring some of Aew’s biggest stars in yet another stacked show!
Match #1: Dark Order def. Luther, Bulk Nasty, Jake Omen, Tito Oric, and Rc Dupree
My Thoughts: No idea why this was a match. A total squash by Dark Order and opponents that were so rag-tag that they were unremarkable. This was a waste of screen time even for Dark Order!
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Kris Statlander def. Julia Hart

Match #1: Lee Moriarty def. Serpentico
My Thoughts: Nice to see Serpentico back in singles action and nice to Not hear too much from Luther in his corner. As I’ve said before, Serpentico is great as a singles competitor though he had some really stiff competition in Lee Moriarty, whose skill and Taiga style eventually got the better of his opponent.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def. Danni Bee
My Thoughts: Another squash match for Abadon, this time against a debuting Danni Bee. As I said last week, seeing Abadon obliterate her opponents in a solid squash is so satisfying!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, once again we’ve got Paul Wight and Mark Henry on commentary and only a 6-match card. Let’s get right into the review… and the action!
Match #1: Nyla Rose def. Katalina Perez
My Thoughts: We’ve got Nyla Rose filling the Lance Archer role on Elevation this week, quickly squashing her opponent in this one. Nothing much else to say really!
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Frankie Kazarian def. Tiger Ruas
My Thoughts: Tiger Ruas returns to Aew in his first match since November last year, in another brilliant display of technical wrestling. Ruas looked badass and Kazarian gave him ample time and space to do so. This was a superb example of Aew stars giving enhancement, or unsigned, talent a real chance to chine on Aew programming and Ruas certainly delivered on that opportunity.
My Score:...
Match #1: Nyla Rose def. Katalina Perez
My Thoughts: We’ve got Nyla Rose filling the Lance Archer role on Elevation this week, quickly squashing her opponent in this one. Nothing much else to say really!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which is the first of this weeks post-Revolution Aew shows and features a mere six matches in an episode that is the shortest (I think) we’ve seen in a while. We’ve also only got Paul Wight and Mark Henry on commentary this week too… Interesting. Let’s get right into the review… and the action!
Match #1: Lance Archer def. Cameron Stewart
My Thoughts: Do I really need to repeat myself when it comes to Lance Archer’s matches against enhancement talent on Elevation and/or Dark? Archer drags his opponent out of the back, throws them in, and then around, the ring then gets the win. Same old, same old. Though Archer dragged this “match” out for far too long this week.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho vs. Session Moth Martina

Both have received 10 nominations.
Colm Bairéad’s debut The Quiet Girl (An Cailín Ciúin) and Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast are the joint frontrunners for the 2022 Irish Film And Television Academy (IFTA) awards, with 10 nominations each.

Nominations have been announced for this year’s Irish Film And TV Academy Awards (IFTAs). Scroll down for the full list.
Leading the way with ten apiece are Kenneth Branagh’s much-fancied awards contender Beflast and Irish-language feature An Cailín Ciúin, which recently won the Grand Prix of the Generation Kplus program at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Both titles are up for Best Film, alongside Deadly Cuts, Swan Song, Who We Love, and You Are Not My Mother. Of those six, four are debut features.
For Belfast, Branagh will also contend for the Best Director and Best Script prizes. The film is up for seven Oscars this year.
On the TV Side, crime drama Kin dominated the field with 13 nominations, including Best Drama, as well as director, script, actor (twice) and actress. Vikings:Valhalla, the Netflix sequel of the popular historical show, received seven noms, as did BBC show Hidden Assets.

Welcome to this weeks review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which comes from Chicago, Illinois. We’ve got Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight, and Mark Henry on commentary and seven matches to cover. So let’s get right into the action and this review!
Match #1: Bobby Fish def. Robert Anthony
My Thoughts: Well that was unexpected. Commentary gave Anthony props on a “good showing” in Aew despite losing all six of his matches so far… I should have known then that we weren’t going to get a squash match tonight from Fish. In fact, Robert Anthony had a really good outing here – taking it to Fish at points and looking like he was just on the cusp of getting the upper hand. Of course, it was sold as Fish “playing” with his opponent after he got the win…
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Emi Sakura, The Bunny & Diamante def.

Match #1: Lance Archer def. Chase Oliver
My Thoughts: We’re back to Lance Archer throwing his opponents to, and around, the ring in a total squash match. This was essentially another win-record building match and an excuse for Archer to get on the mic afterwards.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brandi Rhodes def. KiLynn King

My Thoughts: Always glad to see Leyla Hirsch in a match, no matter the show. Here she takes on Brittany Blake, making her Aew debut, in a match that saw Hirsch feel more like a babyface than the heel she’s being pushed as in her feud with Kris Statlander. Not that she didn’t have a mean streak here – as she always does =- but it felt like commentary were behind her rather than Blake, who should have been this matches babyface.

This article contains spoilers for Hawkeye episode 6 and wider speculation about the future of the MCU.
Hawkeye has finally wrapped up and it certainly ended its juggling act with a flourish. The series had so much going on that some would argue that too much was on its plate. Not only were there so many subplots weaving through each other, but the show brought in Yelena Belova from Black Widow and the Kingpin from Daredevil as the mystery villain and used them as closure instead of just giving them some cameos and hinting towards their next MCU appearances.
Between Clint Barton finally overcoming his personal demons, Kate Bishop ascending as a superhero, and the payoff to a certain MacGuffin, here’s what went down in the Hawkeye finale.

Match #1: Thunder Rosa def. Gabby Ortiz
My Thoughts: This was, yet again, another of Thunder Rosa trademark matches. She was in control b ut let her opponent get in a few moves – in this case some hard-looking hits from Gabby Ortiz – before taking charge again and getting the win. Ortiz actually looked good in this one, managing to show off her skills And personality in the short time this match had.

Blumhouse Television and WWE are grappling with a scripted series about wrestling chief Vince McMahon.
The two companies have teamed up to develop The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon – the first scripted portrayal of the Chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment.
It is the latest project featuring the colorful character – WWE is working with The Ringer’s Bill Simmons to produce a multi-part docuseries about McMahon for Netflix.
The United States of America Vs. Vince McMahon will delve into WWE during the 1990s, at the time Rupert Murdoch had purchased the New York Post. For years, Post writer Phil Mushnick regularly hammered McMahon in his column with headlines like ‘Legislators Give WWE A Free Pass On ‘Roids’ and ‘McMahon Skips Through the Cemetery’ eventually capturing the attention of the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York.

Well, Royal Rumble has passed us by, WrestleMania is in the distance, SummerSlam is in the rear-view, and so it leaves that final member of the original “Big Four” WWE shows left for the year, with Survivor Series on the horizon for this November. I thought, then, that it might be fun to go back through the annals of Survivor Series history and pluck out ten of the very best matches from the event. Now, this wasn’t going to be a cake-walk. It wouldn’t be easy, afterall, there have been hundreds of matches at the event since its inception back in 1987. Still… I like a challenge, and I like pro-wrestling, so here we go. The ten best (in my modest little view at least) matches in Survivor Series history.

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Gloria Allred disappoints me when she wears any blue. Adam Cole has now been Nxt Champion for more than a year, the longest streak in the history of the brand. That could end on Sunday, when Cole puts his title on the line against Velveteen Dream in a “Backlot Brawl” match. Should Dream score a win by submission or pin fall, he would become the second-ever black Nxt Champion. WWE Superstar Big E of The New Day is the only black man to have held the Nxt Championship, a singles title that dates back to Summer 2012.
One week later, “Raw” Superstar Bobby Lashley challenges the Scottish Drew McIntyre for the company’s top and most historic title, the WWE Championship. Should Lashley win the belt, he will be the third black WWE Champion out of 137 WWE (and Wwwf/WWF) Champions, or 52 unique performers when you factor out repeat champions. One of those men is The Rock, who is half black and half Samoan.

One of the many things fans are looking forward to the most about the long-awaited Snyder Cut of Justice League is the chance to finally see Darkseid appear in live-action. The character was heavily teased for a future appearance during Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Knightmare sequence, as well as a deleted scene featuring Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor.

The world now knows what WWE fans knew all along: The Big Show was destined to become the star of a hit Netflix sitcom. Ok, it’s a bit of a shock to everyone including Big Show himself. Nonetheless, The Big Show Show was one of the top trending shows on the streaming service when it debuted in March.

Big Show also has some hijinx with the owner of his local gym, played by Jaleel White. There are also cameo appearances from WWE stars Mark Henry, Mick Foley and Rikishi.

Sometimes you just need an escape – and The Big Show Show, being all about fun, is just that. This is not a serious programme filled with hard-hitting drama but instead is a handful of episodes of a comedic, fun, silly, series which is exactly what we need right now in the lockdown we are experiencing.
The important thing I need to state as early as possible (if you don’t already know), is that Paul Wight is a famous wrestler famously known for playing the ‘character’ of Big Show, who – in the years since his debut – has become one of the most iconic wrestlers ever. What is clever is that The Big Show Show developers have clearly kept this in the back of their mind throughout the whole series as Paul Wight/Big Show is playing a “version” of himself. The Table for Three format is one that WWE seem to be keeping going, and I like it, although I always feel like they should be longer. The three people chosen to chat for twenty minutes or so hardly get the conversation going before the show ends. I think this could easily be an hour long. Oh well.

In terms of both total viewers and the key 18-49 demographic, last night’s “Raw” was actually the highest-rated episode since the April 16, 2018 Superstar Shakeup.
Yes, that means it did even better than the “Raw” after WrestleMania 35, which is a big performer annually and marks the start of World Wrestling Entertainment’s new “season.” Monday’s episode was 5% higher among adults 18-49 than that April 8, 2019 fallout show, and did 6% better overall.

Welcome to this week’s Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the second week where Paul Heyman is booking (kind of). Also, my friend told me that Pat Patterson’s boys club is up and running again and Mae Young’s hand has been hired to wrestle at Summerslam against Mark Henry in a Rock, Paper, Scissors Match. I’ve got a pretty weird friend. Any-way, I hope this episode is good, because Extreme Rules needs some great build before it debuts on the WWE Network.

So, after talking with local organizations,...

Join our newsletter to get more stories like this A lot of WWE fans seem to really hate Baron Corbin right now, but not just as a villain. Many fans are threatening to quit watching Monday Night Raw because of Corbin. This past Monday’s episode of Raw was the lowest rated in history with only 2.194 million viewers. However, it can’t just be Corbin because SmackDown Live had its second-lowest viewers ever with 1.977 million — despite its second week in a row of critically praised action.
