Don Murray, the venturesome actor who earned an Oscar nomination for playing a rodeo cowboy smitten by Marilyn Monroe in Bus Stop, then spurned Hollywood’s attempts to mold him, has died. He was 94.
Murray’s son Christopher announced his dad’s death to The New York Times without providing details.
The actor was also known for the interesting parts he went after in such serious films as A Hatful of Rain (1957), The Hoodlum Priest (1961) and Advise & Consent (1962).
Fresh off a starring role in a 1955 Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth, Murray was sought by director Joshua Logan to portray Bo Decker, the naive Montana man who falls for the chanteuse Chérie (Monroe), in Bus Stop (1956). It was his first movie, and he was 26 at the time.

Blood & Treasure Season 2 will finally see the light of day.
As previously reported, Paramount+ will air the long-delayed second season, beginning Sunday, July 17th with two episodes.
Subsequent episodes will drop weekly on Sundays.
The decision means that viewers who watched on CBS will no longer be able to keep up to speed unless they watch on the streaming service.
The move to streaming worked for both Seal Team and Evil, with both shows scoring renewals following their launch on the streaming service.
It's unclear whether the long wait between seasons will affect the negotiations for a third season.
It's hard to believe any of the cast is still under contract, so it might be difficult to get everyone back together.
Blood & Treasure is a globe-trotting action-adventure drama about a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure.

It was a night of record-making firsts and honoring legends from Hollywood’s Golden Era. John Forsythe and Marlo Thomas hosted the 34th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC on September 19, 1982 — before cable TV and streaming services took over and network TV still ruled the small screen. Read on for our Emmys flashback 40 years ago to 1982.
One of the most celebrated dramas of all time set new records and dominated the acting categories. “Hill Street Blues” received 16 major nominations, breaking the two-decade record of 14 for “Playhouse 90” in 1959. It’s also the first series to receive nine acting noms in one ceremony. It would end the evening tied with “Fame” for the most wins with four, including Best Drama Series, a writing win (it received four out of the five bids in that category) and two acting trophies.

The journey from page to screen for Pachinko began in 2017, on a plane ride from London to New York.
The transatlantic flight was a typical commute for Soo Hugh, who at the time served as executive producer and co-showrunner on the first season of AMC’s The Terror. Nearly seven hours in the air provided an opportunity for Hugh to finally—though somewhat hesitantly—dig into Min Jin Lee’s recently released New York Times bestseller. Theresa Kang-Lowe, Hugh’s former agent and friend, had sent it her way.

Update: After reports that Madame Tussauds had chosen to remove one of its Beyoncé wax figures amid criticism for its appearance, Entertainment Weekly has stated that the statue is back in action on the museum floor - but with a few changes. "We love, respect, and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé," Madame Tussauds told EW in an official statement. "We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure, and she is on display at Madame Tussauds New York." Original Story: Whereas Kylie Jenner's wax figure is a spot-on duplicate of her, one of Beyoncé's artificial "look-alikes" bears literally no resemblance to the singer. A Twitter user recently shared a picture of Bey's supposed dopplegänger at the Madame Tussauds museum located in Midtown Manhattan, noting how "fierce" it is, and a sh*tstorm of backlash ensued. Not so fast Savant — with the help of correspondent input, DVD Savant presents more information on David Swift’s adaptation of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying — correcting and modifying some assumptions in my first review. Don’t worry — it’s good reading.
A Savant article
This is an odd circumstance. I routinely update, modify, correct and de-stupidify DVD Savant reviews, but this time I’m taking a more radical step. In my March 25 coverage of Twilight Time’s Blu-ray of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, I made a big point of the fact that David Swift’s film adaptation had not made many changes. Broadway’s delightful — but wickedly accurate — satire of big business was brought to movie screens almost intact, with the story, the stars, the styles and dances kept as they were in the long-running show that won a Pulitzer Prize. This is the place to see Robert Morse and Michele Lee at their best — it’s one of the best, and least appreciated movie musicals of the 1960s.

Former Viacom CEO Tom Freston thinks his successor Philippe Dauman is the cause of the company’s current struggles, and called on its board to replace him.
