22 years ago today, Nirvana delivered what would remain one of their most memorable performances. It was on December 16, 1993 that Nirvana’s “MTV Unplugged” show first aired. Taped in New York in November 1993, the acoustic show featured a set consisting mostly of covers, including of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” and of a few songs by Meat Puppets, who joined the Aberdeen, Wash.-born grunge band onstage at the “Unplugged” taping. Among their few hits played for the MTV show were “All Apologies” and “Come As You Are.” The live album from the event ended up being the band’s first album release following Kurt Cobain’s death. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and became the band’s most successful posthumous release. Other notable December 16 happenings in pop culture history: • 1962: “Lawrence of Arabia” made its U.S. debut. • 1966: The Jimi Hendrix Experience...

Sooner or later, every musical act ends up in Las Vegas. Now, like Frank Sinatra and Celine Dion and so many more, R&B group Boyz II Men will headline at the Mirage in Las Vegas.
The group announced the new show on Thursday (Jan. 3). The singers will perform two shows each weekend at the Terry Fator Theater, starting on March 1, 2013 and running for a total of 78 performances. Organizers of the new show have only hinted at the content: Boyz II Men's 1991 hit, "Motownphilly," will definitely be a part of the act, but other aspects will be a surprise.
With 60 million records, Boyz II Men counts as the best-selling R&B group of all time. Its members -- Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman (the fourth member, bass singer Michael McCary, left the group in 2003 for health reasons) -- leapt to fame with 1991's hit album, "Cooleyhighharmony." Boyz II Men is back on the music scene with their 10th studio album, released 20 years after their debut record "Cooleyhighharmony." The album is appropriately titled "Twenty" and is a combination of eight of their previous hits and 12 new tracks, including "One Up For Love," the music video for which has just been released.
Tenor Wanya Morris tells MTV News, "'Twenty' is our latest effort. It consists of the span of 20 years of our career. It's been seven years since we did an album with our own music; it felt like it was time to put our efforts and our maturity and all of the things we gained through the 20 years on this album. We're trying our best to transcend time, but at the same time maintain our integrity and allow people to see the maturity as well."
Baritone Nathan Morris adds, "Music is who we are. Our concepts may be different; obviously,...

On Tuesday night (August 31), '90s R&B sensations Boyz II Men hit the stage to give Justin Bieber a little back-up on his tune "U Smile." Bieber has admitted that they are kind of his heroes, so it must have been kind of amazing to have the guys join him on stage at his Madison Square Garden show, where he also happened to be taping his 3-D concert flick.
For those of you who may not be familiar with the Boyz, we here at the MTV Newsroom have compiled a little list of some of the guys' best songs for your listening pleasure.
In what had to be one of the most epic collaborations of the '90s, the guys of Boyz II Men hooked up with Mariah Carey for the "One Sweet Day," off her 1995 release Daydream. The track about loosing a loved one was inescapable that following...

Boyz II Men have confirmed that they are continuing without former bass singer Michael McCary. McCary, who left the quartet in 2003 due to chronic health problems, was unable to join his bandmates on their 20th anniversary tour. Band member Wanya Morris revealed that the group would continue as a trio for the live joint, which kicked off earlier this week. "Unfortunately, it's a situation that we can't actually control - we, as a group, would have loved to put the project together and make it a big event with Mike, but (more)...
