“Outer Range,” TV’s craziest sci-fi Western, is finally coming back for Season 2. On Monday, on the two-year anniversary of the series premiere, Prime Video dropped a trailer for the new season, which arrives on May 16.
“Outer Range” stars Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher who is having problems holding on to his land and his family. One day, he finds a mysterious hole on his property that might be some sort of portal through time. So now he has another, even bigger problem.
According to Amazon, Season 2 “propels its characters deeper into the void with profound and unforeseen circumstances that could shake the very foundations of time itself.” The trailer is packed with wild imagery, like Autumn (Imogen Poots) eating some black mineral dust and then her eyes turning the same color, and even wilder dialogue, like Royal Abbott musing about how it’s impossible to know...

Josh Brolin has posed nude to emphasise a point regarding a new project he’s currently filming.
The Avengers: Endgame actor is currently shooting season 2 of TV series Outer Range, in which he plays a Wyoming rancher fighting to keep his land.
Brolin wants fans to know that the new episodes will “take things in a different direction”, and to highlight this, he posted a photo on Instagram showing him wearing no clothes whatsoever – save for a necklace and a cowboy hat.
Outer Range season two had a showrunner overhaul when creator Brian Watkins stepped down following the show’s renewal in October. Charles Murray, whose credits include Sons of Anarchy and Luke Cage, is now overseeing the show.

Full of pathos and lore, "Tales of the Jedi" returns us to the CGI style of "The Clone Wars" animated series and resituates us in the decline of the Republic era. Guiding fans through a cycle of births, deaths, and rebirths, Dave Filoni's six-episode anthology miniseries differ in spirit from the often-breakneck movement of "The Clone Wars," with each episode running shorter in average length but brimming with a distinctive emotional breadth and quieter introspection.
For many fans, these episodes fill the corners of curiosity for the history of established characters: the infanthood of Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku's fall from the light, Qui-Gon Jinn's apprenticeship, and the devotion of the ever-elusive Yaddle to her friend Dooku. Though revealing their youthful days and their fates brings much heartache and sorrow — and Kevin Kiner's pensive scoring — these chapters are necessary to understand how these characters grew up (or regressed). Somehow, Palpatine returned. Again. Okay, that’s not a real surprise, especially for an animated series like Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, which is set in the Prequel Trilogy era. Created by Dave Filoni and Charles Murray, the Disney+ series tells the story of young Jedi Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku before he abandoned the Jedi and fell to the dark side. Along the way, Ahsoka and Dooku encounter many familiar faces, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and yes, Senator-turned-Chancellor-turned-Emperor Sheev Palpatine.
As one would hope, the series features a number of fan-favorite actors returning to their signiture roles. Although Rosario Dawson has put her own stamp on the live-action version of Ahsoka, first seen in The Mandalorian, the character will be once again voiced by Ashley Eckstein, who originally played the character for the 2008 movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent series. There’s good and bad news on the “Outer Range” front, Prime Video’s excellent, Western/metaphysical sci-fi show starring Josh Brolin, Imogen Poots, and an outstanding supporting cast. The good news: the critically acclaimed “The Outer Range”—which we adored, it’s one of the best shows of the year—but the bad news is that its original showrunner and creator Brian Watkins has been replaced. Instead, Charles Murray, who has an overall deal with Amazon Studios, will come aboard as showrunner and executive producer for season two.

The trippy Outer Range is coming back. Prime Video has renewed the Josh Brolin-led drama for a second season. Charles Murray, who has an overall deal with Amazon Studios, is joining as showrunner and an executive producer for Season 2. The series follows Brolin’s Royal Abbott, a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness. Outer Range is described as a thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery and examines how we grapple with the unknown. When the eight-episode first season began, the Abbotts were coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. Also pushing them to the brink were the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) making a play for their land. An untimely death in the community set off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles came to...

Prime Video has ordered a second season of Outer Range, a neo-Western that stars Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and family. Charles Murray, who has an overall deal with Amazon Studios, will take over for creator Brian Watkins as showrunner.
The eight-episode first season kicked off in April and followed the Abbotts as they coped with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They were pushed closer to the brink when the Tillersons, owners of the profit-driven neighboring ranch, made a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture.

Lucasfilm has just debuted the first trailer for “Tales of the Jedi,” the new microseries from Lucasfilm Animation, set to debut on Disney+ October 26. All six 15-minute episodes will be available at once.
The series will follow two different paths: the story of how Ahsoka Tano left her Togruta family to join the Jedi order near infancy and her life as told in key moments in the years after that, and also the story of young Count Dooku and his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn (voiced once more by Liam Neeson) as Dooku warns about “the rising darkness” he foretells will take over the galaxy. Of course, he ultimately chooses to join that darkness, becoming the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus and leading the Separatist movement in the Clone Wars. Both Ahsoka and Dooku are Jedi who left the Order, so contrasting their stories makes sense — especially as a setup for the live-action “Ahsoka” series starring Rosario Dawson.

Exclusive: Charles Murray, a writer and producer whose wide-ranging credits include Sons of Anarchy, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Luke Cage, has set a slate deal with Redbox Entertainment spanning six films over three years.
The pact centers on Command Films, a new production company founded by Murray and Marc Danon, a veteran film exec who also has headed original content at Redbox since 2019. The pair’s collaboration predates the arrival of Danon at Redbox. He had previous exec stints at Broad Green Pictures, Lionsgate and Netflix.
Command’s mandate is to create content amplifying Black voices and experiences within commercial genres through the Redbox affiliation.
The deal marks Redbox’s latest move in the original film realm as it continues to expand beyond its well-established network of kiosks. In September 2020, Redbox set a long-term deal with established producer Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road for the formation of Asbury Park Pictures.

Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes will star as two brothers in Netflix’s upcoming fictional limited series “True Story,” the streamer announced Wednesday.
Hart will play Kid, a world-famous comedian who makes a tour stop in his hometown of Philadelphia and visits his older brother Carlton, played by Snipes. However, the events of one lost evening turn into matters of life or death that threaten to destroy Kid’s career and everything he has built.
“I’ve never been more excited about an acting project in my career. I’ve always been a fan of Wesley Snipes and working with him is mind-blowing,” said Hart in a statement. “Having HartBeat Productions at the helm and working alongside Eric Newman as a partner and creative arm has been unreal, nobody is ready for what this show is going to be.”
The series will mark a dramatic turn for Hart, who also serves as an executive producer.
