The “Mean Girls” musical has cast “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm as Coach Carr. The Emmy-winning actor and star of “Confess, Fletch” and “Beirut” will play the school’s gym teacher and sex-ed instructor. The film will adapt the Broadway musical, which in turn was an adaptation of the 2004 theatrical comedy “Mean Girls.”
The Paramount film, about a teen girl who moves from Africa with her anthropologist parents and finds herself unprepared for the community dynamics of an American public high school earned solid reviews and grossed $130 million worldwide on a $17 million budget in early 2004, becoming a generational touchstone on par with “Clueless” and “Heathers.” This live-action musical version will debut on Paramount+.

On Wednesday, Jon Hamm wears pink! The Mad Men and Tag alum is joining the Mean Girls Musical adaptation for Paramount+ as Coach Carr, the gym coach and a grossly misinformed sex-ed teacher at North Shore High School. Quantum Leap Episode 16
Quantum Leap’s “Ben, Interrupted” warrants a heartfelt, Oh boy! This episode embodies all the scary intensity one can imagine in a trip to a mental institution in 1954, an era rife with the torture and murder of patients in the name of science. At the height of malpractice, a spouse, typically a husband, could easily have their “loved one” committed. Such is the situation of Judith; the young woman Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) is supposed to save.
Judith’s husband brought her to the George’s Island Asylum where she is diagnosed and “treated” for hysteria, which translates, in Judith’s case, to a woman who is unable to bear children. Ben’s host is a private detective, Liam O’Connor, who is paid handsomely by Judith’s sister to go undercover and help Judith escape by becoming a patient himself.

It takes some mental flexibility to keep up with the twists and turns of Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 16, wherein Ben initially looks like a patient, turns out to be a detective, but then has to call upon some superhuman abilities.
With only two weeks to the finale, new revelations are flying fast and thick, and everyone's understandably on edge.
Janis's return is a catalyst for some strong feelings and her strident conviction that she knows best conflicts mightily with how Magic and Addison see things.
Like on Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 7, where Ben encounters what appears to be the supernatural, his foray into a mental institution in 1954 is fraught with elements of horror and sadism that smack of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and, most obviously, Girl, Interrupted (from which the episode's title is drawn.)
The production team does a chillingly impressive job of creating an atmosphere of...

Pink was once in the running to play Janis Joplin in a movie about the classic rock musician’s life. She withdrew from the project because she heard other stars like Lindsay Lohan and Scarlett Johansson were also being considered for the part. Here’s why it has been so difficult for filmmakers to create a Janis Joplin biopic and what Pink said about the casting process.
Pink | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic Pink was going to play Janis Joplin in a movie, but she dropped out because Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, and others were considered for the role
For decades, filmmakers have been trying to put together a biopic about legendary rock singer Janis Joplin. Several entertainers have attempted to snag the coveted lead role, including pop star Pink. Director Penelope Spheeris, who has been called a “rock ‘n roll anthropologist,” reportedly said that Pink was the frontrunner to star in...

While recognizing that time travel sci-fi television has a requisite level of suspended disbelief, Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 10 has moments of utter surrealism regarding medical functionality.
Aside from that, I can appreciate the problem-solving skills Ben uses to bring about satisfactory closure to all three patients' stories.
Meanwhile, at headquarters, Magic and Jenn are forced to play ball by Janis's rules, which doesn't put any points on the board until Janis gets Addison in play.
Louis's story is the most bittersweet of the trio of rescue stories since Ben's involvement saves his life, only to break his heart when his wife is pronounced brain-dead.
Of course, that puts him in the position to be able to agree to donate his wife's heart to Kimberley Cole for transplant.
What bugs me here is how Louis's wife's heart could be a match considering a search of the entire donor registry only turned up one match,...

Quantum Leap Episode 10
The Quantum Leap revival has led fans on a journey from the criminal back alley (twice) to outer space, the boxing ring, backstage at a rock concert, the Wild West, a “haunted” house, a youth camp, and a natural disaster. At the end of last week’s midseason premiere, Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) finds himself in the body of Alexandra Tomkinson and in a dark parking lot helping to deliver a crowning baby that is arriving a month too soon. Fortunately, Alexandra is a medical resident at a Seattle area hospital and in the right place at the right time to help this mama in distress.
Ben, on the other hand, lacks medical skills beyond catching the child and keeping the infant off the asphalt. At the outset of this episode, viewers are implicitly reminded that Ben didn’t train for this.

Knives Out: Rian Johnson addresses whether the Muppets could star in another chapter of the whodunit
Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is still making waves on the Netflix streaming chart, and fans of the whodunit franchise featuring Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc want to know what’s next for the character. Johnson has already made two films in the series, each starring an ensemble cast of A-list actors, now a question remains: Who can Johnson get for the third film that would blow everyone away? How about the Muppets? You heard me. What if Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo the Great, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and other Muppets cast members joined Blanc for a murder mystery? It could be the best idea in cinema history, but Johnson doubts it’s the right move for the series.
An article by John Dilillo of Netflix Tudum is making the rounds, in which the writer talks about the Muppets starring in a new Knives Out mystery.

For an adventure that pushes the narrative forward significantly, Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 9 spends a lot of time with thoughtful scenarios examining the past in order to move ahead.
In Ben's case, his pop star client, Carly Farmer, has been led to believe her sister's a danger to her, and they've been estranged for six years, manipulated by people who were meant to take care of her.
In the team's case, Janis Calavicci is physically in custody, bringing to a head all the questions as to why Ben couldn't trust them with his plans.
And, of course, there's the fallout from Ben's last disclosure to Addison on Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 8 that he took the unauthorized leap to save her.
That's not something that's going to sit well with Addison.
And it's pretty on the nose that Ben's leap immediately after that revelation is into a bodyguard of a woman in danger.

Fetch: still not happening. But the Mean Girls movie musical adaptation? Definitely a thing. Casting continues on the film, with Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey all joining the ensemble,.
Tina Fey, who wrote and appeared in the 2004 cinematic version, and oversaw the writing of the musical, is still at the forefront here, though Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne are directing, with music from Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.
In the film, Lindsay Lohan played Cady Heron, who goes to a regular American high school after years of homeschooling from her zoologist parents on a research trip in Africa. Concerned she won't make friends, she eventually forms a connection with the ruling clique the "Plastics" and things go well until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett), the ex-boyfriend of queen Plastic Regina George (Rachel McAdams), and it all spirals from there.
