The biblical thriller Mary has reportedly wrapped production in Morocco, and Deadline reveals that the film will feature Sir Anthony Hopkins in another royal role after portraying the former King of Asgard, Odin, as well as Lear in the Prime original film, King Lear. Hopkins plays King Herod in the thriller that’s directed by DJ Caruso, whose credits include Disturbia, Eagle Eye and the Vin Diesel actioner xXx: Return of Xander Cage. He joins newcomer Noa Cohen, who plays the titular role. Cohen was chosen after a worldwide casting search and happened to grow up an hour away from where Mary was born in Israel. Cohen can be seen in the Israeli YA series My Nephew Bentz, Infinity and the 2022 feature Silent Game.
The plot synopsis, per Deadline, reads,
“In coming-of-age story Mary, the title character is shunned following the otherworldly conception of her child and forced into hiding.

Elden Ring and God of War: Ragnarok are two vastly popular action video games that are great in their own way. One is a role-playing game with a massive open world to explore and hard-as-nails enemies to fight. The other is an action-adventure fantasy title with a very cinematic story. One tells its story through its environments and item descriptions, while the other employs the old-school way of letting the characters sing their song.
Both of these games have their own share of incredible bosses for gamers to face. Where God of War: Ragnarok has the likes of Odin, Heimdall, and Thor, Elden Ring has Morgott, Astrel, Radagon, Radahn, and, of course, Malenia. One must wonder: What happens if these bosses fight each other? Who would win? Well, someone seems to have found the answer to that.
Thor from God of War vs. Malenia from Elden Ring, who would win?...

A robot sits along a riverbank and washes his face. The action serves an obvious utility. Moments earlier space fascists (which seem in overabundance these days) bullied the automaton, knocking his face into the dirt, and kicking him while he’s down. Still, it is in how Zack Snyder stages the machine’s cleansing ritual that sticks with me. Voiced by the endlessly regal Anthony Hopkins, our ostensible C-3Po appears to have the soul of Lear—or at least Odin given Rebel Moon’s visual lexicon.
The android waxes nostalgic about a slain king and tells a young girl who watches him bathe that her countenance provides him “with a feeling of warmth” and reverie as he recalls a princess who died. And when she puts literal flowers in his hair (gears?), the toaster with legs blushes. No, really, lights implanted in his face turn red. Does he feel embarrassment?...

Rick and Morty, season 7, episode 9, featuring Rick, Morty, and a prehistoric Nordic beast named Bigfoot, is another killer combo of witty comedy and a sharp commentary on animal cruelty. This episode, titled Mort: Ragnarick, is all about Rick’s bizarre experiment to experience the afterlife, for which he won’t hesitate to kill himself numerous times. But this time, Rick aims to end up in the Viking era, steal their weapons, and come back to life. Rick could have just time-traveled to that era, but well, would a Rick and Morty episode be a Rick and Morty episode if it didn’t make things more complicated than had it had to be?
Spoilers Ahead
How Did Morty Free Bigfoot?
Episode 9 opens with Jerry in his afterlife meeting his grandmother, who is getting frustrated as Jerry keeps popping by to annoy them instead of joining them in the afterlife. Before Jerry could explain it further,...

Sheriff Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) is listening to “Sixteen Tons” on the radio while he rolls up to the murder scene/gas station as FX’s Fargo season five episode three gets underway. For once, his son Gator (Joe Keery) has done the right thing by not broadcasting the fact Ole Munch killed his partner and left a menacing sign on his dead body. So far, only Roy’s aware the gas station’s upped its body count by one.
Gator praises Ole Munch’s big balls, and Roy points out Munch has altered the size of Gator’s. They’ve gotten smaller.
Roy orders Gator to dig up all the info he can on Ole Munch. And he warns his son to sleep with his gun cocked until the situation’s handled.

After an excruciating four-year wait, Ragnarök is nearly upon us. Releasing for PlayStation 4 and 5 on Nov. 9, the latest entry of the God of War franchise sees the return of demigod Kratos and his son Atreus (a.k.a. the half-giant Loki). Following the events of 2018’s God of War — something of a soft reboot for the series — the duo find themselves braving the colds of Fimbulwinter on a mission to prevent Ragnarök, the prophesied end of days at which they find themselves the center. Along the way, they face opposition...

We have huge news for all the goth girl lovers out there. With the second season of Marvel's "What If...?" slated for an early 2023 release, one of its first voice actors has been confirmed, and it's a pretty massive one. According to the Disney blog Laughing Place, show director Bryan Andrews revealed at a LightBox Expo panel that Cate Blanchett will lend her voice to the second season as Hela, the villainous half-sister of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) introduced in "Thor: Ragnarok."
No direct quotes from the panel have been given regarding this reveal. However, Andrews did seemingly tease that an episode will be dedicated to the character, showing a side of her that wasn't shown in "Ragnarok." According to Laughing Place, he also discussed how surreal it was to record the Oscar-winning actress for the episode. We certainly wish that this LightBox Expo was recorded, but...

This article contains spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok and House of the Dragon
It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Taika Waititi twirled Mjolnir and made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut with Thor: Ragnarok. While we’ve since had Thor: Love and Thunder, most agree Ragnarok is the God of Thunder’s best. More recently, we’ve become obsessed with HBO’s House of the Dragon and a fight for a more painful throne than the one in Asgard. It might be hard to connect the dots to Westeros, but on another viewing, Thor: Ragnarok is Marvel’s answer to House of the Dragon – just with fewer dragons and no Jeff Goldblum.
Succession is the name of the game in both the Nine Realms and the Seven Kingdoms, with the crux of House of the Dragon season 1 being about who will take over from King Viserys Targaryen...

Ghosts is doing a second take on the opening of Jay and Sam’s B&b in a newly released extended trailer for Season 2 of the hit CBS comedy.
Airing Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:30/7:30c, the premiere finds the husband and wife disagreeing over whether to use their ghostly pals to spy on their guests. Elsewhere in the preview, Thor compares Trevor to Odin (“if Odin’s butt check always visible every time he bend over”); Flower reveals that she slept with a very popular band; Hetty has some strong feelings about the washer; and the basement ghosts get a visitor.

Unless you’re trying to remain entirely unspoiled about God of War: Ragnarok before you play it on November 9th, I highly recommend you check out the game’s latest story trailer. Like most of the game’s promotion material thus far, it’s an enticing preview of what is to come as well as an incredibly well-done piece of work in its own right.
If you did watch that trailer, then I’m willing to bet there is a good chance you were shaken by the impact of the voice that pops in around the 40-second mark. While the dialogue that seemingly disembodied character speaks throughout the trailer is undoubtedly powerful on its own (Kratos really isn’t the kind of god that has ever inspired love), it’s the quality of the voicework that likely left you reeling. It’s not only a great performance but there’s...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Thor: Love and Thunder”
Sometimes, Marvel uses their mid- and post-credits stingers simply to poke fun at the audience. But most times, they use them to set up a little extra piece of the future of the MCU. The latter is the case for both of the “Thor: Love and Thunder” credits scenes — but the second one may have just opened up a new realm entirely.
The bad news is, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) didn’t survive the film. As it turns out, in the time since we’ve seen her in “Thor: The Dark World,” she got cancer, and it progressed very quickly. Though Mjolnir initially seems to help her keep the disease at bay — and turns her into the badass Mighty Thor — eventually, we learn that the magic hammer was actually draining the energy she had left in her body and robbing her of...

While 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok had a moderate (and amusing) number of cameos, Thor: Love and Thunder really ups the ante in terms of surprise walk-ons. Some of the unexpected appearances in this movie are from Marvel first-timers while others are from characters who previously showed up in either Ragnarok or those other movies about the God of Thunder that we don’t like to talk about anymore. Well, at least Thor: The Dark World—the first Thor is still pretty good if you ask us!)
There are also a handful of cameos from real-life family members of some of the film’s stars and, most intriguingly, there is a trio of ghost cameos as well, which is to say appearances that were filmed but did not make the final cut. Two are from characters we know already, while one remains a mystery as we write this.

Superhero films have a long, fraught history with the depiction of disability. Often, these films’ disabled characters are portrayed as villains, like Dr. Poison in “Wonder Woman” or Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Price in “Unbreakable.” Most, like DC’s Doctor Mid-Nite, haven’t yet been considered worthy of bringing into the cinematic world. And when these characters do appear in sprawling movie and TV franchises, they are often played by non-disabled actors (such is the case with “Daredevil” or Professor X in “X-Men.”)
There’s no dearth of these kinds of heroes and villains in comic books: Disabled superheroes have been around since the 1940s, with Doctor Mid-Nite — who can see in the dark but is blind at night — widely considered the first disabled superhero. Others include Oracle, otherwise known as Barbara Gordon, who became the hero after being paralyzed; the inventive Komodo, a double...

Love is a force greater than hate. That simple yet enduring message is at the heart of Thor: Love and Thunder—and to the movie’s credit, the meaning comes through in a way no one expected. Going into the theater for the fourth adventure of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Odinson, most audiences likely anticipated the new film to be a sweet romantic comedy between Thor and Natalie Portman’s returned Dr. Jane Foster, aka the Mighty Thor. The PlayStation Studios team has finally confirmed God of War Ragnarok’s release date (November 9) and even revealed an elaborate special edition of the upcoming game to celebrate the announcement. While those two updates have understandably been dominating headlines in the last 24 hours or so, it’s worth noting that the Ragnarok team also released a new trailer for the long-awaited sequel. Granted, that trailer was little more than a CG showcase designed to whet our appetites, but it happened to feature our first look at a giant wolf that has confused GoW fans and Norse mythology buffs alike.
While that giant wolf is never officially identified in the God of War Ragnarok trailer, it certainly appears to be Fenrir: the massive mythological beast who is arguably best known for biting off Týr’s hand. He also played a small role (or as small a role as he possibly could...

Thor: God of Thunder is the latest “mockbuster” from The Asylum and their second film about this hammer-wielding Norseman. There’s no connection however between this and their 2011 film Almighty Thor, thank Odin for small mercies.
This time out Loki has escaped captivity in Asgard. Who can blame him, his guards Ivar (Vadim Brunell) and Halstein are late with his meals and eat all the olives out of them. He proceeds to kill them and run Odin and heads to Earth to awaken the giant wolf god Fenrir and destroy Yggdrasil – The Tree of the Nine Realms. The usual evil diety stuff.
Odin manages to hold on until Thor arrives. He tells him the only way to stop Loki is to find the halves of The Amulet of Varga.

Though some may have recognized him from his feature film debut as George Kirk in the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot, Chris Hemsworth was a relative unknown when he landed the role of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first "Thor" movie brought in director Kenneth Branagh, seemingly in an effort to lend some Shakespearean gravitas to it. When we first meet Thor, he comes swaggering into a golden throne room, where he winks at his mother Frigga (Rene Russo) while his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) looks on disapprovingly.

Taika Waititi’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” has received thunderous Twitter praise.
The film hosted its red carpet premiere June 23 before debuting in theaters July 8, and critics took to social media to applaud the instant “classic” Marvel film.

We’re just two weeks away from the release of Marvel’s latest MCU installment, but Thor: Love and Thunder has now had its premiere in Los Angeles, so we get to read all the first reactions from those who were invited to attend! As always, we absorb these reactions with a hefty fistful of salt, but anticipation and goodwill for this movie has been high ever since it was first announced. Returning director Taika Waititi essentially reinvented the Thor franchise with his 2017 Marvel outing Thor: Ragnarok by capitalising on the more comedic side of the central character and, as a result, Chris Hemsworth is currently the only MCU star to lead four solo movies.
In Thor: Love and Thunder Hemsworth reprises his iconic role, but as a God of Thunder who is now looking to finally find some peace after losing so much that was dear to him during the events of Thor: Ragnarok,...
