The buzz around this year’s Stagecoach Festival, kicking off Friday in Indio, California, is among the loudest in the country music fest’s 16-year history. Tickets sold out in less than a month after going on sale last September — hitting that mark months before sister festival Coachella — and giving Stagecoach its biggest sales ever. Credit that to the current country music boom and to a stellar lineup put together by Stacy Vee, EVP of festival talent for Goldenvoice, the promoter behind Coachella and Stagecoach.

When Hardy dropped the Joe Diffie-themed third volume of his Hixtape series on Friday, he did so with an army of country cameos: Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Clint Black, Darius Rucker, Hailey Whitters, and Koe Wetzel all turn up on various tracks. But it’s the inclusion of Toby Keith that’s the most poignant. His appearance on “Ships That Don’t Come In,” with Luke Combs, is his final studio performance before his death in February.

Dan + Shay are kicking off their “Heartbreak on the Map” Tour in 2024.
The tour was made in support of their newest album, Bigger Houses, and will bring along Ben Rector and Hailey Whitters as opening acts on all shows.
In July, the singing duo admitted to almost breaking up after their 2021 tour.
“I was in, like, the lowest low of my entire life. Came off the road and I was like, ‘Man, I hate music. I’m ready to quit,” Dan Smyers said in a YouTube video.
“I could feel the separation, and I think there was little things between you and I that we never talked about,” Shay Mooney replied.
After going back and forth on what led to wanting to back out of their successful singing careers, Smyers said they are now “a million times the closest [they’ve] ever been.”

Instead of jumping on the tour bus and heading to his band Midland’s headlining gig at the Dreamy Draw music festival, Mark Wystrach hopped into his vehicle and took the scenic route from his home in Tucson, Arizona, to the event site two hours away in Scottsdale.
“I drove up this back road — the original old highway — through the beautiful Sonoran desert,” Wystrach tells Rolling Stone backstage. “Growing up around a bunch of remarkable music here and at my parents’ [restaurant] the Steak Out in Sonoita — there were always incredible bands playing.

Since his 2019 Double Down Tour, Eric Church has upended the traditional country music live show, doing away with opening acts and choosing instead to carry the night himself by delivering three-hour concerts split into two sets. But for this year’s Outsiders Revival Tour, he was inspired by his own playlist to curate a diverse group of legends, buzz artists, and up-and-comers to join him on the road.

Sitting backstage at a club on the outskirts of Nashville last week, 49 Winchester lead singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson took a moment to collect himself before an intimate showcase at the “Rolling Stone Writers’ Room” presented by George Dickel Bourbon.
“I grew up in a pretty poor, blue-collar Appalachian household, one where you really had to work hard for anything that was worth anything,” Gibson tells Rolling Stone. “It’s that ‘put on your hard hat and let’s get to work’ kind of thing. And we do the same thing...

The state government in Montana has passed a law that prohibits the use of TikTok, but the ban will not go on the books without a fight. Two separate lawsuits — one from TikTok itself and another from a group of creators — are challenging the new decree on First Amendment grounds.
Montana officially passed its TikTok ban on May 17. The law uses similar language to the federal government’s Restrict Act. It allows lawmakers to restrict apps with strong ties to foreign adversaries like China and Russia.
To enforce those restrictions, Montana plans to go after digital marketplaces like the App Store and Google Play Store. Starting on January 1, 2024, Apple and Google will be mandated to remove TikTok from their respective Stores in Montana. If they don’t, they could face fines of $10,000 per day.

The 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards have concluded, and the big winner from Thursday night’s ceremony is Chris Stapleton, who took home Entertainer of the Year.
It’s the first time Stapleton has won that prize, which brings the total of ACM awards he’s won over his celebrated career to 15. He’s now also qualified for the ACM Triple Crown Award, given to people who win New Female/Male Artist of the Year, Female/Male Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
But Stapleton didn’t take home the most prizes. That distinction was shared by Lainey Wilson and Hardy, who essentially teamed up to win 4 each. By herself, Wilson won Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country.” She also shared Visual Media of the Year and Music Event of the Year with Hardy, both of which were awarded...

Grammy Award-winning country music artiste Shania Twain released her new album, “Queen of Me” on Friday. The record is a limitless expression of pop that allows it to sit comfortably next to her many chart successors, enshrining it as an upbeat, playful, and joyous album.
The album is sonically inspired by ’70s and ’80s funk and rock – just like the sounds she grew up with and considered her heroes. It’s a departure from the past and a strident step into an ever-improving future.
The album consists of 12 new tracks. In the stand-out friendship anthem “Best Friend’, Shania affectionately gushes over her closest confidant as she emphasises “you always take the blame and you know I’d do the same for you. No matter what, yeah I got you, and I know that you got me.”
The LP represents a deep and dynamic creative statement from this iconic voice – from the energetic opener “Giddy Up!
