Wonder Woman is one character that has stayed constant throughout her several iterations. Serving as the equilibrium force of the Justice League, her character has become iconic for several different reasons. Being one of the first female superheroes to become prominent in mainstream media, she became a cultural icon for many. Wonder Woman has inspired several similar characters and has also brought female readers and viewers into the genre.

Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the character seems to have become just as iconic, doing an excellent job as Princess Diana. While her version of the character does stand out in more ways than one, it would seem that her story could have been a lot different had it not been for another version of her.

Climate change has become the Go To dystopia for stories these days, each with an apocalyptic feel, showing little hope for humanity. Paramount released the film adaptation of Megan Hunter’s novel The End We Start From, the latest such installment, in December. Now available for streaming rental, the film, starring Jodie Comer, explores the aftermath of such a climate incident.
Water rushes from the skies, flooding ensures, and soon towns and cut off and cities can’t cope. England is submerged (the rest of the world’s fate is left up in the air) and the Woman (Comer), finds herself giving birth without any of the usual medical support. When we first see her, she’s in a bathtub as the rains fall outside so there’s no escape. The graphic birth shows the stakes she and her partner R (Joel Fry) face in not only their survival but of the infant.

Stars of Matthew Vaughn’s new spy thriller Argylle do their best to briefly describe the film in Universal Pictures’ latest minute-long featurette. Adjectives tossed out include crazy, mindblowing, smart, and sexy, with Bryan Cranston advising that it’s not always possible to understand the madness of Matthew Vaughn – you just have to go with it.
In addition to Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), the ensemble includes Bryce Dallas Howard (the Jurassic World films), Oscar winner Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill (The Witcher), John Cena (Peacemaker), Oscar winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), and Grammy winner Dua Lipa (Barbie). Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) also star.
Alfie, the film’s adorable feline star, is near and dear to filmmaker Vaughn. The kitty is owned by his wife, Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer).

The first trailer for “Kingsman” and “X-Men: First Class” filmmaker Matthew Vaughn new spy film “Argylle” has arrived, and it’s hardly what anyone expected. The trailer begins as a standard spy thriller with Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa getting into some sexy spy shenanigans, but then the story pulls back to reveal they’re characters in a book written by a spy novel author played by Bryce Dallas Howard.
The problem? What she thinks is fiction is actually happening, and now real-life spies are after her for outing their dealings.
Sam Rockwell plays one of those real-life spies who seemingly takes Howard’s character under his wing, but then the trailer promises a jaw-dropping twist within the film by asking audiences not to spoil the secret.
There was confusion ahead of the film’s release as it was touted as an adaptation of a “soon-to-be spy novel by Elly Conway,...

There’s a misconception that the British are a stoic people who just might get quite cross in the event of a zombie apocalypse. But the truth is rather different, as was shown in 2005, when six people were hospitalized and a man stabbed when an Ikea store in North London put 500 leather sofas on sale for less than 60 bucks each and a riot ensued.
In that sense, Mahalia Belo’s intriguing debut The End We Start From is very much a British disaster movie, speculating just how quickly the country’s perceived veneer of respectability would evaporate in a crisis. But, more than that, it’s a dreamlike study of what it means to give birth, how life-changing the experience is and the strain it puts on relationships. It would make a great double bill with Children of Men.
When we first meet the Woman (Jodie Comer), she is heavily pregnant and running a bath.

Marvel Studios and DC’s film studios, along with several actors, will be sitting out of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. But the fans are not.
While it’s still early down here in America’s Finest City, attendees are already lining up, not simply for Hall H but for their Wednesday night or Thursday entrance to the trade-show floor. The outdoor tents and rails for queues are set up and remain in place outside the San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H lawn.
Despite the ratcheting down of several TV networks panels to mere screenings, one on-the-ground Csc Security staffer at the confab says the convention is preparing for enormous crowds “like any other Comic-Con.” The walkways along the Hilton side of Hall H that are fenced off to...

David Corenswet may be the first Jewish actor to play Superman, but the Man of Steel himself is as Jewish as matzo ball soup.
As you may or may not know, Superman debuted in 1938, the creation of American and Canadian Jewish teenagers, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. But that authorship is just the beginning. In fact, the entire Superman myth is an American-Jewish fantasy, lifted from numerous Jewish legends and fulfilling the dream of revenge against Hitler.

Ana de Armas was asked if she was going to take over the Wonder Woman role as Peter Safran and James Gunn reenvision the DC Universe.
“Well, I feel like Gal Gadot is doing a great job,” De Armas said in the Wired Auto Complete Interview. “I think she should keep doing that.”
Gal Gadot recently reprised her role of Diana Prince in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, the future of Gadot in the role remains uncertain after the third installment of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was scrapped.
After news that the threequel was not happening, Jenkins released a statement saying, “I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.

Humphries passed in a Sydney hospital following complications with hip surgery, his family announced in a statement.
“He was completely himself until the very end, never losing his brilliant mind, his unique wit and generosity of spirit,” the family said. “With over 70 years on the stage, he was an entertainer to his core, touring up until the last year of his life and planning more shows that will sadly never be.”
Humphries reportedly fell in February and had a hip replacement. In March, the entertainer had hip surgery, but earlier this week, he returned to the hospital due to complications and later died, according to Sydney Morning Herald.
