Actress Alexa Vega has gotten engaged to her boyfriend of one year, Carlos Pena of Big Time Rush. This marks the second engagement (and, presumably, marriage) for Vega.
Both sides of the happy couple made the news known through their Instagram accounts on Wednesday (Sept. 11). Vega, 25, was the more direct of the two. She posted a photo of Pena with a caption that read:
"Hello fiance ..."
For his part, Pena didn't explicitly talk about an engagement. It was the photo that made things clear -- Vega's engagement ring is rather obvious in the Instagram, captioned:
"My angel!!! @vegaalexa awesome road trip so far!! Now we just need to get back ..."
The engagement was later confirmed by JustJared.com.

Cutting through the Greek of a complicated system that shifts slightly with each deal, veteran producer/film financing expert Cassian Elwes (Dallas Buyers Club, Lawless, many more) drops some serious science on how film financing actually works in this video. As a bonus, Sean Covel and Doc Wyatt (Napoleon Dynamite) bolster the points, then explain why equity deals are great for newcomers and define some Yiddish gambling slang. You may have to play it twice because Elwes essentially raps a lot of numbers without a beat, but it’s a hell of a primer for how the front and backend of getting movie money operates. Alexa Vega, the former child star made famous by the "Spy Kids" franchise, has definitely grown up! The 23-year-old actress recently tweeted an instagrammed picture of herself clad in a metallic bra, displaying quite the cleavage.
With news of her recent divorce from husband of two years, Sean Covel, it's easy to mistake this picture as Vega's memorable way of reentering the single world. But rest assured. This isn't the case, and it isn't her former-child-star-gone-wrong moment either. Vega is in character, starring as Killjoy in Robert Rodriguez's latest feature project, "Machete Kills."
"Machete Kills" marks the reunion of Rodriguez and Vega as both first worked together on "Spy Kids." The film is also set to star Amber Heard, Sophia Vergara, Jessica Alba, and Vanessa Hudgens, as well as Lady Gaga, whose movie poster was released Thursday, July 26.

For our own mental health here at VH1 Celebrity, for every Macaulay Culkin and Lindsay Lohan, we like to celebrate an Anna Chlumsky and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And the celebrity breakup news continues. Former Spy Kids star Alexa Vega, 23, filed for divorce from Napoleon Dynamite producer husband Sean Covel after less than two years of marriage. The actress filed papers in L.A. Superior Court on June 28, citing irreconcilable differences. So much for her happy ending.
According to People, she and Covel already have a division of property based upon a “written agreement,” so there won't be much divorce settlement drama. Although they didn’t announce their divorce publicly, the actress alluded to the breakup on Twitter. “We come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly,” she wrote to followers Monday.
This divorce comes after the couple separated on March 5, 2012. They wed in a ceremony in South Dakota in October 2010, after a year of dating. No news on what the two are up to these days, both personally and professionally.

She played Carmen Cortez in "Spy Kids," and now she's divorced. Twenty-three-year-old Alexa Vega, who became famous in 2001's movie about young siblings who also happened to be masters of espionage, has split from Sean Covel, TMZ reports.
Covel, a film producer whose most notable work is probably "Napoleon Dynamite," is 13 years her senior. Irreconciliable differences are blamed for the unfortunate news.
Vega and Covel were married in 2010, when the actress was 21. Though she has acted regularly in film and television in the intervening decade since her breakout role, Vega has yet to find a vehicle more memorable than the Robert Rodriguez film. "Spy Kids" went on to become a franchise, and Vega reprised her role as (a much older) Carmen Cortez in last year's "Spy Kids: All The Time In the World 4D."

"From Prada to Nada" cast made a trip to Los Angeles to attend the premiere of their movie in the Live Regal Cinemas on Tuesday, January 18. Despite the chilling weather, Camilla Belle opted an open pantsuit and a ruffled raw silk bra top that bared her midriff, making it an unconventional choice of wardrobe.
Joining the 24-year-old beauty at the screening was another lead star Alexa Vega. The newlywed, who donned a red Lipsy dress, was hitting the red carpet with the companion of husband Sean Covel. She completed her look with Sophia jewels, but she was most proud of her wedding ring which she flaunted in front of cameras.
Other cast members making appearance that night were Wilmer Valderrama, April Bowlby, Nicholas D'Agosto, Adriana Barraza, Patricia De Leon and Kuno Becker. Director Angel Gracia was also present, while other stars like Carla Ortiz, Fernanda Romero and Mason Cook came as guests.

Completing its first three rounds of kaleidoscope, AceShowbiz presents the final cut. The list provided will help bringing back readers' memory of the major and significant occurrences in the lives of celebrities, be it in music, movie, TV or their personal lives over the course of October to December.
Bad news kept haunting Hollywood celebs during the last trimester of 2009. In the course of October through December, there were deaths and break-ups. Nevertheless, that didn't keep some other public figures from celebrating their lives for good things that approached them, like engagement, marriage, and the birth of their babies.
October
Stephen Gately was found dead on October 10 on a sofa at his apartment located in Majorca, Spain by his same-sex partner Andrew Cowles. At that time, the pair was enjoying a holiday in the island. His sudden death sent shock to his Boyzone bandmates as they were working on a new studio album.

Alexa Vega is engaged to be married. Breaking the news of her engagement to film producer boyfriend Sean Covel is HotSpringsStar.com, to which the pair shares details when he proposed to her. The site, moreover, reports a wedding is planned for next year.
Covel says via phone interview from his office in Hollywood that he planned to propose to Vega after he picked up a custom-designed engagement ring from his jeweler friend in Beverly Hills. "I planned to propose in a grove of Christmas trees in Los Angeles," he reveals further. "But when I realized we would be back home doing a screening in Hot Springs, I knew this was the perfect opportunity, so I scrapped the old plan and whipped up a new one."
