Jerry Seinfeld has issued an apology to his “good friend” Howard Stern after telling fellow comics Dana Carvey and David Spade that the self-proclaimed “king of all media” has been “outflanked” by other comedy podcasts, and that the two hosts of the Fly on the Wall podcast are “better than him now.”
Seinfeld, whose directorial debut Unfrosted was released on Netflix last week, was the week’s guest on the May 8 episode of the comedy podcast hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Carvey and Spade. When their topic of conversation moved to the podcast format itself, Seinfeld said longtime talk radio host Stern has been at for years — since 1975 when he started at Boston University’s Wbtu station.
“Howard Stern invented this, right?” Seinfeld said of the format. “But we’re better than him now. Howard is interesting. Howard is a great interviewer, but comedy chops, I mean, can we speak candidly?...

During a recent appearance on the Howard Stern Show, actress Kate Hudson made a stunning revelation, claiming she could see dead people. Hudson opened up about her paranormal connection after being asked about the longstanding rumors that she and her famous mom, Goldie Hawn, have psychic abilities while visiting The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, May 7.
Kate Hudson confessed she could talk to dead people when she was younger, but the link has supposedly faded over the years. When Stern quipped if the spirit of his late father was hovering around the studio, Hundson revealed she hadn’t seen a dead person since she was younger, noting she was “a little bit” like Haley Joel Osment in “The Sixth Sense” as a kid.
Kate Hudson explained, “It’s like you get these sort of messages. When I was a little girl,...

Jerry Seinfeld has apologized to Howard Stern for comments he made about the radio personality in a recent podcast interview, including that Stern lacked “comedy chops.”
“I really feel bad for what I said about my friend Howard Stern in a conversation with David Spade and Dana Carvey, talking about the glut of comedy podcasts,” he told TMZ, referring to his appearance on Carvey and Spade’s “Fly on the Wall” podcast.
While discussing the popularity of podcast culture with Carvey and Spade, Seinfeld asked the two fellow comedians, “Howard Stern invented this, right?”
“But we’re better than him now,” Seinfeld continued. “Howard is interesting. Howard is a great interviewer, but comedy chops, I mean, can we speak candidly?”
Spade said “Sure,” while Carvey said, “No!” as they both laughed. “Well, he got Robin, and Robin is a big part of how he’s funny,” Carvey said of Stern’s co-host Robin Quivers.

John Wick has infiltrated the world of video games and television, and now it’s time to conquer the pinball world. Lionsgate has teamed with Stern Pinball (the same folks behind the Jaws pinball machine) to release a new series of pinball machines inspired by the series of films.
Available now at retailers in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models, players will step into the role of the world’s greatest assassin as he fights to escape his past. Players can also open John Wick’s weapons crate to reveal a hidden shot target path to retrieve an array of weapons. You must use the sculpted Blood Oath Marker carefully – or risk the consequences.

Today on Howard Stern, comedian Nikki Glaser revealed the jokes she held back on during Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time last weekend.
“Tom, I love your work — that you’ve done on your face,” said Glaser reading one of her cut jokes to Stern.
“Seriously, slow down,” she said, referencing gossip that Brady has had work done. “What is happening with your cheeks? You look like a Ken doll that was microwaved. You love deflating things, so stop.”
The comedian also had a joke about the NFL and Cte at the ready, alleging a massive coverup all “for the sake of men hugging each other in a Buffalo Wild Wings.”

Glaser did go at Brady on his divorce and ex-wife Giselle Bundchen’s current jiu-jitsu-trainer boyfriend.

Emily Blunt got candid during a recent appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” (via People) about how she’s had to fake chemistry over the years with certain co-stars she just struggled to connect with on set. Blunt has acted opposite many high-profile leading men throughout her career, from Matt Damon (“The Adjustment Bureau”) to Tom Cruise (“Edge of Tomorrow”), Dwayne Johnson (“Jungle Cruise”), Ryan Gosling (“The Fall Guy”) and Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”).
“Have you wanted to throw up?” Stern asked Blunt about kissing some of her male co-stars during filming. The Oscar-nominated actor responded: “Absolutely. Absolutely.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s sort of extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it,” Blunt added.
Blunt declined to name any co-star she couldn’t generate chemistry with, but she did say: “I have had chemistry with people who… I have not had a good time working with them.

The Daily Mail reports that when Stern asked her if she’d ever wanted to throw up after kissing an actor, she replied:
“Absolutely, absolutely…I wouldn’t say it’s extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it.
“I think my feeling is I’ve got to find something I love about everybody. I have to find something – even if it’s one thing. It might be like they have a nice laugh or I like how they speak to people, they’re polite. I mean, it might be something random.

Blunt recalled that in that moment, she thought Hazel “was going to faint.” “It was the best thing anyone’s ever done for my child,” she said.

Of President Joe Biden’s myriad quips and Dad joke-level zingers at Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner — including around the thorny issue of his age and aimed at former President Donald Trump — one joke, in particular, referenced a notable, recent move by his campaign.
Speaking to a crowd of media figures, A-list celebrities and Beltway power brokers who’d just wrapped up their dinner, Biden started serving up one punchline after another. About halfway through his tight 15, the president referred to his recent sitdown with talk radio host Howard Stern.
“I have higher standards,” Biden said from the podium. “I do interviews with strong independent journalists who millions of people actually listen to…like Howard Stern.”
Goofing on Stern’s journalistic credibility landed with the audience, which, despite the spectacle of the star-studded event, is meant to honor the bravery, tenacity and grit of some of the best reporters in the nation.

Audio entertainment giant SiriusXM, the home of Howard Stern, reported on Tuesday that it lost 359,000 self-pay subscribers in its satellite radio unit in the first quarter.
The decline from a year-earlier loss of 347,000 self-pay subs resulted from fewer trial starts in late 2023 and higher first-quarter churn. Paid promotional subscribers during the latest quarter fell by 86,000 customers, compared to a gain of 66,000 subscribers in the category last year.
This added up to an overall first-quarter subscriber drop of 445,000, compared with 281,000 in the same quarter of 2023. SiriusXM, led by CEO Jennifer Witz, also reported self-pay subscribers of its Pandora Plus and Pandora Premium services fell by 64,000 during the first quarter, compared to a year-earlier loss of 7,000 subscribers.
During a morning analyst call, Witz conceded the launch of the new SiriusXM streaming app for some longtime customers had been “disruptive,” but added innovation to reach younger subscribers beyond cars was growing. “Our early...

President Joe Biden revealed his willingness to debate with Donald Trump in a recent interview with radio host Howard Stern.
Although he did not provide a specific timeline for the potential debate, it marks the first time in this election cycle that Biden indicated his openness to such an event. When asked about debating his 2024 opponent, Biden responded, “I am somewhere… I’m happy to debate him.”
Following this remark on Stern’s Sirius/Xm show, Trump’s campaign manager, Chris Lacivita, responded on social media, “Ok, let’s set it up!”
While Trump chose not to participate in any of the four Republican National Committee-sanctioned primary election debates in 2024 and withdrew from one of the three debates with Biden in 2020, he has advocated for Biden’s involvement in the three general debates scheduled for this autumn.

After the death of former NFL star and actor O.J. Simpson from prostate cancer this week, an interview with former President Donald Trump and Howard Stern from July 2008 has resurfaced.
In 2008, Simpson had long been known for his infamous trial for the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of the murders despite physical evidence linking him to the scene.
By the time Stern interviewed Trump, Simpson had also been arrested for robbery and kidnapping and later sentenced to nine years in prison.
“NBC went totally crazy when I wanted to put Oj on The Apprentice,” Trump told Stern.
When Stern asked why he wanted Simpson, Trump responded, “Well, you know, in your business, there’s a thing called ratings. I know this: If I put Oj on, I get huge ratings.”
When Stern asked if Trump spoke to Simpson about the idea, Trump’s answer was unclear.

Considering how many serious injuries the Jackass cast members have suffered over the years, one would think that even before Jackass Forever, they had reached the limit of their willingness to pull off dangerous stunts. Jackass Forever is the fourth movie in Jeff Tremaine’s reality comedy film series, which came after Jackass 3D (2010).
However, the filming process was interrupted by some of the ludicrous, and risky stunts that resulted in injuries to the main character of the franchise. Indeed, Johnny Knoxville earlier talked about the major bull stunt that caused him to suffer brain damage and has revealed whether or not he regrets being a part of such a risky act.

Despite the mixed reviews for Road House, the viewers and critics unanimously loved Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance in the bouncer role. It’s no wonder that the actor has such a good portfolio and even his rejected roles speak volumes of his skills. Gyllenhaal was in the running to play Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. While the role eventually went to Christian Bale, Gyllenhaal was not bummed out by the rejection.

The Donnie Darko actor’s positive mindset was influenced by the fact that Nolan personally called him to tell him that he did not get the role. Gyllenhaal went on to land roles in critically acclaimed films like Brokeback Mountain and Jarhead, following his Batman rejection.

Howard Stern said on Monday that he’d love to have exercise guru Richard Simmons on his show to “get to the bottom” of why he dropped out of sight. But so far, Simmons has turned down his invites.
The “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” star, who hasn’t made a public appearance since 2013, alarmed fans last week when a tweet of his implied he was dying. The 75-year-old later clarified that his tweet was not to be taken literally and that he was in good health (since everyone is technically always one day closer to their inevitable death).
After Stern discussed the incident, his producer Gary Dell’Abate said he’d been corresponding with Simmons, who is a friend.
“I wrote to Richard, not for airtime for the radio, and I’m not gonna talk about what we discussed, but I did confirm that I was corresponding with him. Because, you know,...

Ben Stiller puts a major part of his time into his career as a director these days and he has some amazing projects in his portfolio. Stiller directed acclaimed films like Tropic Thunder and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. He also served as the director and executive producer of the AppleTV+ series, Severance. However, there were a few scripts he had to turn down for reaching such height in his filmmaking career and some of them turned out to be huge successes.
Tropic Thunder director Ben Stiller turned down a script that turned out to be a massive success
Out of these films, one film could’ve won him his much-deserved Oscar back in the ’90s itself. Stiller was just two feature films into his directorial career when the Oscar-winning script of Good Will Hunting was sent to him. The more one studies the making of 1972's "The Godfather," the more two things become abundantly clear. One: Francis Ford Coppola was hellbent on adapting Mario Puzo's novel to the screen with a strong eye toward character and theme, an approach that Robert Evans and the regime of Paramount Pictures at the time did not understand nor believe in. And two: Coppola was incredibly miserable while making the film given all of the hurdles he had to get over and enemies he had to outwit, and was just barely able to complete the movie in the way he wanted to.
While there are many examples that illustrate this struggle, one of the most illuminating concerns the scene in which the Godfather, Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), dies peacefully yet ignominiously (especially for a once powerful and feared man) in a tomato patch at his home, suffering a heart attack while playing with his grandson,...

Peak intellectual property doesn’t have the same ring to it as peak TV. Drama based on tried-and-true ideas, however, removes risk for commissioners in challenging international markets and is in vogue. But producers be warned: the best ideas don’t come cheap.
The volume of TV drama ordered will increase in 2024 according to analysts, but it will remain way off the Golden Era highs. The well of money for scripted TV hasn’t run dry, but it’s no longer overflowing.
The Series Mania Forum is engineered for market shifts with its international co-production strand feeling more relevant than ever. Laurence Herszberg, Founder and General Director of Series Mania, said the industry element of the Festival is a toolbox for professionals. One tool it will add this year is a new IP market. The dedicated space will allow IP owners to press the flesh with the 4,000 TV folk expected in Lilles in March.

When I was a younger man, Conan O'Brien was the king of late night. I'm not talking in terms of ratings; I'm talking in terms of popularity among my peers. Jay Leno was boring and unfunny, Letterman was once great but had lost a step, and Conan was the absolute best. His style of humor, which leaned into the absurd, made his late-night talk show "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" worth staying up for.
While Conan flourished on his own talk show on NBC, in a timeslot that once belonged to Letterman before Letterman moved to CBS, there was one gig he coveted: hosting "The Tonight Show." Despite the presence of the hacky Jay Leno, "The Tonight Show" remained a storied institution; it was legendary, and Conan O'Brien very badly wanted to host it someday. And he did! You might have memory-holed this, or never learned it, but there was...

Pay deals in the U.S. and the streamer reset’s impact on international TV development were among the topics at the opening panel of the Berlinale Series Market this morning in Europe.
During the panel at the EFM event, Gersh partner Roy Ashton described that while production costs have gone up significantly over recent years, writer pay had not kept up with the inflation. He suggested indie producers, writers and agents should collaborate more to ensure packages lead to better financial deals when they approach streamers or studios.
Ashton noted that the model behind Netflix’s hit action series The Night Agent, which has been viewed tens of millions of times on the service, meant its writing team did not receive more than originals shows launched at the same time that performed far worse. Creator Shawn Ryan last year gave an interview in which he said anyone assuming he...

While chatting with Howard Stern this week, Billy Joel revealed one major bucket list item he has yet to achieve: forming a supergroup with some of his favorite fellow musicians.
Currently in the midst of an ongoing tour, Joel explained, “I thought about putting together a band: Me, Don Henley, and Sting, and maybe John Mayer on guitar.” When asked by Stern if he’d consider inviting his good friend Paul McCartney into the mix, Joel shut down the suggestion. “He was in the super-est group of all-time. However, Ringo Starr is still fair game to him. “He’s a great drummer,” noted Joel. “He doesn’t get the credit he deserves.” Watch the full segment below.

Jailed rap star Kodak Black scored a legal victory Friday when a Florida judge dismissed his drug charge linked to his Dec. 7 arrest for possession of a substance deemed “cocaine” at the scene but was actually oxycodone through subsequent lab testing. Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, submitted a prescription for the oxycodone to the court prior to the ruling. Howard Stern has been one of the most controversial – and revered – figures in the history of modern media. With a passion for the field as a child, Stern’s climb to the top of the radio world truly began in the ‘80s. And he did it off of his unique, button-pressing, FCC-clashing brand and humor: the boobs, the prank calls, the Wack Pack, all of it all made Howard Stern one of the most recognizable figures in all of media. And so as his markets grew and his written word topped the charts – but long before his first $500 million contract with Sirius – it was time for Stern to enter the movie business…with something a little more commercially viable than Butt Bongo Fiesta.

No one can play Buffy Summers, the girl chosen by fate to be a vampire Slayer, better than Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's not the only one who's tried though.
For starters, Gellar is actually the sophomore Slayer — Buffy was first played by Kristy Swanson in the original "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" movie from 1992 (that's been soundly displaced by the TV series in pop culture). For the TV series, Charisma Carpenter originally auditioned for Buffy, but ultimately played Queen Bee Cordelia Chase instead, the part that Gellar turned down. The whole point of Cordelia is that she's what Buffy was before she became the Slayer (an acerbic popular girl), so casting Gellar and Carpenter made sense. In another world, they could pull off each others' parts.
Carpenter wasn't the only runner-up to play Miss Summers. Back in 2001, when "Buffy" was still ongoing and sensation, Natasha Lyonne appeared on "The Howard Stern Show...

Jim Carrey asked this to radio shock-jock Howard Stern in 1994 shortly after the actor's movie opened unexpectedly atop the box office. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong has shared the story of meeting one of his heroes, Eddie Van Halen, revealing that the guitar legend “started crying” during their backstage encounter.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday (January 17th), Stern brought up the fact that the first concert Armstrong attended was a Van Halen show. “When I saw Van Halen in ’84, I was 12, and they were my favorite band, and I cried,” began the Green Day singer-guitarist. “It’s like his guitar playing came from a different place. Created by Stern, the official Jaw pinball machine features a shark, chum bucket, and pictures of Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw. It looks magnificent.
It’s almost 50 years since Jaws first terrorised a generation of would-be swimmers, but incredibly, there’s never been an officially licenced pinball machine based on Steven Spielberg’s killer shark thriller.
That is, until now. As reported by IGN, the Chicago-based manufacturer Stern has unveiled a toothsome and entirely official Jaws pinball table.
Its features include a video screen that shows clips from the 1975 movie alongside helpful hints (“Shoot the fin!!”), airbrushed likenesses of actors Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss, a motorised shark fin, and a chum bucket that tips over when struck by your silver ball.
It also includes newly-recorded soundbites from Dreyfuss himself, as well as samples of John Williams’ unforgettable durr-durr-dunnnn score.

Charlie Puth and Adam Levine were both guest stars on the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday and spent some time palling around after their interviews.
Puth last visited the show back in 2022 and shared that since then he has gotten engaged to Brooke Sansone.
“I looked back at the footage, and I was smiling because … I knew I was going to ask her soon and it was like right after your show,” Puth shared with Howard Stern.
Before proposing, Puth made sure to get her parents blessing “out of respect.”
He shared the details of the proposal, explaining that although he was confident in his decision, he was also anxious. Hours before, he decided to buy some pizza after he picked up the ring. He recalled, “I had a Sicilian slice, had tons of heartburn, had to take a lot of Pepcid, and watched the longest episode of Suits ever.
