Michael Ball has revealed the one thing that he will never do on stage.
The 60-year-old singer was discussing his life and career alongside his long-term collaborator Alfie Boe on the High Performance Podcast.
While discussing his mental health struggles, the singer revealed that he would never let his personal life bleed into his performance.
“No matter what’s been happening off stage in our own lives, you never take it on stage, never” the singer told hosts Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes.
The star also offered up his advice for dealing with mental health for those who might be struggling.
“My advice has always been to share, to open up when you need to have somebody that you can talk to,” he said.
Ball also explained how he often takes comfort in a famous William Shakespeare quote from Hamlet.
“And the greatest, the answer to the greatest philosophy in the world.

Sarah Silverman, Haley Williams, Snow Patrol and members of Franz Ferdinand, The National and others have taken to social media to mourn the death of Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison after the singer-guitarist’s body was discovered Thursday in Port Edgar, Queensferry, just west of Edinburgh, the Scottish capital.
Police Scotland issued a statement Friday from Hutchison’s family that said the Hutchison had been struggling with mental health problems. Authorities have not confirmed the cause of death.
Frightened Rabbit’s collective Instagram account shared a statement Friday morning honoring their bandmate. “There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort,” the note reads. “Reading messages of support and hope from those he has helped through his art has helped immensely, and we encourage you all to continue doing this.

Gary Lineker will reportedly sign a new non-exclusive contract with the BBC, after agreeing terms allowing him to front BT Sport's Champions League coverage.
The Match of the Day host's future with the public broadcaster had been the subject of some speculation, with reports earlier this year that he was having serious discussions with BT Sport.
A BT spokesperson told Digital Spy: "BT doesn't comment on rumour and speculation."
However, the Daily Telegraph says that Lineker has now agreed to take a pay-cut in his new deal with the BBC, where he is expected to continue fronting football coverage.
BT Sport is scheduled to unveil its talent line-up for the 2015/16 season next week, but earlier today confirmed that Jake Humphrey has signed a new four-year deal.
As part of the new contract, Humphrey's role has been expanded to include anchoring the pay-tv channel's coverage of UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League games.

Top Gear's future is up in the air following Jeremy Clarkson's suspension over a "fracas" with a producer.
Three of the current series' episodes have been pulled from the schedules, and it is currently not clear if the show will return, with or without Clarkson.
Hundreds of thousands of fans have already called for Clarkson to be reinstated, and Top Gear remains a hugely popular programme around the world. But would it be anywhere near as successful without Clarkson front and centre?
James May and Richard Hammond are also integral to its popularity, but could the show remain as popular with just the two of them or perhaps a new presenter?
Bookmakers have already picked the likes of Chris Evans, Jake Humphrey, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Eddie Irvine as potential replacements, but would they have the same impact? Or is it time for the show to come to an abrupt end?...

A review has found that the BBC has spent 15% less on talent over the past five years.
Salaries for stars on TV and radio have dropped from £221m to £188m since the last review from Oliver & Ohlbaum was released in 2008.
The BBC has also spent 29% less on stars earning over £100,000 a year.
The review stated that the BBC had made "vast improvements" in managing salaries, and that the corporation had paid less and allowed more stars to leave.
It also showed how stars including Susanna Reid, Chris Moyles and Jake Humphrey had left the BBC, but that it had still "maintained the quality of output for licence fee payers".
Former employee Jonathan Ross - whose salary was thought to have been around £6m - has also left since the Trust's last review.
The report added that the BBC must keep in check "what it gets for the money it pays...

F1 presenter Suzi Perry has said that turning down the opportunity to present Top Gear was a "bad decision".
Perry, who is the first permanent female presenter of F1 on British TV, spoke to producers about joining hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Jason Dawe and Richard Hammond before the show's relaunch in 2002.
However, she insisted that she has no regrets about the way her career has unfolded.
Asked by The Daily Telegraph about her worst business decision, she said: "Years ago, when TV was about to bring Top Gear back and rebrand it with Jeremy, James [May] and Richard, I sat down and talked to Andy Wilman, the series producer, about joining them.
"I remember thinking, 'I might be out of my depth and it might not be a good idea', instead of grabbing the opportunity.
"Looking back, I may have made a large error, but it's not like I didn't work for the next 15 years.

Objective's chief on why the magician's Channel 4 special this week had to be different and the return of Peep Show
Andrew Newman, an executive producer on illusionist Derren Brown's latest Channel 4 show, in which he coaches pensioners to steal a Chapman brothers painting from an art exhibition, is no stranger to brazen stunts. Early in his TV career, Newman worked with Sacha Baron Cohen in his Ali G phase and Chris Morris on Brass Eye, so he should have a natural affinity with Brown's high concept pranks.
As chief executive of Objective, the independent producer behind Brown's TV output, Newman oversees a programming slate that mirrors his own background working on offbeat, sometimes spiky series. The likes of Peep Show, Fresh Meat and Toast of London – recommissioned for a second Channel 4 series last week – attract critical plaudits and industry awards, but not always large audiences.

Laserbeams, a Roachford CD and massive dancing Alans illuminate an East Anglian crowd for 'the biggest turning-on of lights since the end of the three-day week'
A giant image of Alan Partridge's face that shoots 25m dancing Alans into the sky is the highlight of this year's Norwich Christmas lights display.
Hundreds of people – a crowd that might have rather disappointed Steve Coogan's famously egocentric radio jock, sport presenter and chat show host – turned out to see the festive display switched on by BT Sport frontman Jake Humphrey last night. Christmas Alan also "performs" a version of the song Cuddly Toy by 90s pop-funk band Roachford, in a nod to his lip-synch scene at the beginning of Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, in which he drives to his hometown of Norwich.

BT Sport and Sky Sports finally went head-to-head on the opening day of the Premier League season, officially kicking off their fight for ratings and subscribers.
BT is the latest challenger to Sky's football coverage dominance, and has snagged an impressive 38 matches across the season, including a number of 'first picks'.
Jake Humphrey launched the broadcaster's Premier League coverage on Saturday, anchoring the opening game of the season, Liverpool v Stoke.
The match brought BT its biggest ratings so far, pulling in 764k (7.7%) for the lunchtime kick-off. It matches up to recent opening day fixtures for Espn, who pulled in 713k and 806k for Newcastle v Tottenham and Newcastle v Arsenal in 2012 and 2011.
BT's Simon Green insisted that the broadcaster was "pleased" with the figures and argued that the stats didn't tell the whole story as a number of viewers watched the game via platforms, not included by the independent monitor of viewing figures Barb.

Why, despite reducing Norwich to a caricature of a cheesy Travel Tavern, Steve Coogan is loved by us Norfolk folk
Whenever I confess that I grew up in Norfolk and, even worse, have now returned to live in Norwich, a half-smile plays around the lips of the listener. "Ah-ha," they smirk. "Home of Alan Partridge."
Norfolkians have good cause to hate Steve Coogan. Our complex and curious county is the home of Stephen Fry, Elizabeth "fiver" Fry, Tom "Rights of Man" Paine and mystic-feminist Julian of Norwich. And yet it is embodied by the acme of narrow-minded, middle-of-the-road, sports-jacketed, Lexus-driving, middle-England broadcasting non-entities with delusions of grandeur.
Norwich is a fine city, England's first Unesco city of literature, and a genuine equal to more feted tourist spots such as York or Cambridge. And yet it is reduced in popular consciousness to the home of a Travel Tavern, East Anglia Polytechnic and,...

Rick Edwards has replaced Jake Humphrey as the host of BBC Three's politics and current affairs show Free Speech. Humphrey departed the BBC at the end of 2012 to work on BT's Premier League football coverage. Free Speech returns for a new episode on February 13. "It's hugely exciting to be joining the Free Speech team - it's clearly a very important show, and unique in the way that it engages with an often under-represented younger audience. I'm looking forward to hearing their take on the issues that matter to them, and occasionally sticking my oar in," said Edwards. "As for stepping into Jake's (more)...

Jake Humphrey has opened up about his experiences of being bullied as a child. The BBC Sport presenter said in an interview with The Mirror that he "just didn't fit in" at secondary school and described the period of bullying as "probably the worst two years of my life". Humphrey said: "People always assume the weak and the useless get bullied and I am perfectly happy to talk about how I was bullied so badly I had to change schools. It was a horrible time. "When I started at high school I just didn't fit in. The teacher even said I was too sensitive for my age." Humphrey recalled an incident at his scout group where he was put into a canvas tent bag by bullies, saying: "I remember the Scoutmaster opening it up and saying, 'No more bullying Jake nights'." BBC Sport presenter Jake Humphrey has claimed that his new live debate show Free Speech is filling a gap in the schedules because not enough political TV caters for young people. Humphrey's new series, which will feature BAFTA-winner Adam Deacon and Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney on the panel, is intended to create a talking shop for issues directly affecting young people. "There are loads of issues directly impacting on young people at the moment, the riots, work experience schemes, rising unemployment, so why not have a show for young people with young people?" Humphrey told Digital Spy. "Young kids are very well catered for TV-wise in this country and also again when you get to your mid-30s. But I think there is a real need for something that caters for and is controlled by young people. "We want young people to develop and decide how (more)...

BBC Sport presenter Jake Humphrey has revealed that he's excited about competing with Sky's coverage of Formula One this year. Sky will share the rights with the BBC for the first time this year and the broadcaster has already announced plans for a dedicated channel to the coverage. They have also poached the BBC's lead commentator Martin Brundle to front their shows. Speaking to Digital Spy about the battle for viewers between the BBC and Sky, Humphrey said: "I'd love to have every F1 race on the BBC, but that isn't the case and we have to make the best of what we have. "I think there are some benefits to the changes. In terms of our talent lineup, I think it's the best we've ever had. We've got Gary Anderson who has actually designed a Formula One car, we've got David Coulthard stepping into the commentary box, we've (more...
