Wes Anderson’s Roald Dahl short story adaptations continue to grace us, and the third one is The Rat Catcher. This film is twisted, and Wes uses some brilliant lighting and zoom techniques to really bring out the horrifying nature of this story. Of course, all the actors are marvelous, and although this story is quite slow at the beginning, it quickly picks up pace in the third act with a remarkable twist. This is horror in Wes’s style. A sinister tale with a dark twist. The story comes from Dalh’s collection, Claud’s Dog. The Rat Catcher is brought to life through the narration of Richard Ayodae and is acted out by Ralph Fiennes and Rupert Friend. Ayodae is the realistic driving force of this story as he pushes us to see the more ethical side of thnigs.

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor: Honor United 2019 – Newport, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and…this show sucked. Yeah. The London show rocked and this one sucked. You’ll get it in a minute.
Match #1: Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll and Flip Gordon) defeated Tracy Williams and Flamita
My Opinion: 3.5 out of 5 – Fortunately, this show did start off with a lovely match. I used lovely. I can do that. Suck it, Donald Trump. This was a fantastic way to start the show, as it was a longer match with plenty of action that was properly paced and fought with heart and passion. The sucking hasn’t quite started, yet.
Match #2: Shane Taylor defeated Danny Jones – Ring Of Honor World Television Title Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:

Soccer Aid for Unicef 2019, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV and Stv this week, has raised a record-breaking £6,774,764 so far – over £1m more than last year’s on the night total – for Unicef’s vital work keeping children around the world happy, healthy and safe to play.
This amount was raised thanks to the generous support of the UK public, ITV and Stv viewers, and the UK government who have matched all donations so far, doubling the difference made to children’s lives. This figure has smashed all previous records for money raised on the night.
The eagerly anticipated match took place in London for the first time in over a decade, packing out Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge Stadium with a whopping 39,836 in attendance. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, leading to a nail-biting penalty shoot-out for the second year in a row, with the Soccer Aid World XI...

This week, actor David Harewood met members of parliament at a Soccer Aid for Unicef event at the Houses of Parliament to support the Great Big Kickabout.
MPs attended the afternoon reception, which was hosted by Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon Jon Bercow, in the State Rooms. David Harewood told MPs about his recent trip to Sierra Leone, where he saw first-hand how Unicef programmes are improving child health, early childhood development and education in vulnerable communities.
David Harewood said: "I recently travelled to Sierra Leone with Unicef saw with my own eyes some of the incredible work done to help children around the world.
“I visited a baby care unit where there were babies no bigger than my hand, fighting for breath and fighting for life. The lifesaving work doctors and staff were doing there reminded me of why I play for Soccer Aid for Unicef.

It’s a huge bummer when a movie wastes incredible talent. Any film that boasts a cast like this, with Michael Caine at the top in a starring role, teaming up with Jim Broadbent, Tom Courtenay, Charlie Cox, Michael Gambon, and Ray Winstone, the final product should be way better. Throw in a quality director like James Marsh at the helm and this sounds like the talents behind an Oscar contender. Well, opening this week, King of Thieves is not that. This heist tale is slowly paced, dull, and a shall of what it could have been. Alas, this was a big time letdown. The film is a “based on a true story” crime drama. Centered on infamous true events in England, we follow a famous thief named Brian Reader (Caine) as he gets back in the game. Mourning the loss of his wife, he begins to pull together a...

Nobody has as much energy as they used to in “King of Thieves,” which is partly the point. James Marsh’s true-crime heist movie is built around two remarkably high figures: first, the £14 million value of the loot, making the burglary in question the largest in British legal history, and more crucially, the average age of the culprits, almost all of whom were veteran criminals well into retirement.
The Hatton Garden jewelry heist made international headlines in 2015, but could have been a story dreamed up in Ealing Studios’ midcentury prime: A Vanity Fair article on which this film is based was even titled “The Over-the-Hill Mob.” Small wonder, then, that British film producers have been swift to jump on it. Yet this proficiently polished thriller (the second big-screen treatment of the story in two years) seems to feel a creak in its own joints: Torn between jaunty genre hijinks and a bleaker streak of realism,...

Lovable British rogues have enthralled cinema goers for the better part of a century in classic London crime capers like Brighton Rock, The Lavender Hill Mob, The Italian Job and The Long Good Friday, through to McVicar, Lock Stock, Sexy Beast and Legend (2015). Even when brandishing knuckle dusters, plotting to off little old ladies, threatening to shit the Ira or taking their shirts off (cas they’re “sweating like a c*%t”), these antiheroes have made a massive mark in cinema over the decades. Despite being synonymous with heist movies they are arguably a genre unto themselves yet, but while the widespread affection remains, there hasn’t been a truly memorable cockney/ London crime film or character for quite some time.
In 2015, the infamous Hatton Garden robbery, in which £200 million’s worth of cash and jewels were stolen from safety deposit boxes, provided film producers with the basis for a fresh and relevant take.

Courtney Hadwin is the clear frontrunner to win “America’s Got Talent” this year. She wowed the “Agt” judges with her scorching rendition of the Otis Redding classic “Hard to Handle” on the June 12 audition episode. That inspired Howie Mandel to press the Golden Buzzer and send her straight through to the live shows. This talented teen is now tipped to win season 13 of this American reality competition series.
That will be sweet revenge for this English rose who lost the first season of “The Voice Kids UK” in 2017. She had first won over Danny Jones with her sizzling version of Tina Turner‘s “Nutbush City Limits.” That got her into the competition and she made it all the way to the finals where she performed “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from the musical “Dreamgirls.”
See When will Courtney Hadwin sing on ‘America’s Got Talent’ again?...

We're experiencing a sense of déjà vu here at Digital Spy Towers, as a mere 11 days after Jessie J announced her departure from The Voice UK, everyone's favourite knee-sliding Irishman Danny O'Donoghue has also decided to step down as a coach.
We've barely finished musing about which popstars could fill Jessie's chair, and now we've got to do it all over again, as the search begins for a replacement for the man we affectionately came to know as 'O'Donodouche'.
Although in our opinion nobody will truly be able to fist-pump, chant their own name and coo to "gorgeous-looking girls" in the same way as Danny, Digital Spy has come up with a shortlist of artists who we can picture taking over The Script frontman's seat.

McFly have revealed plans to follow in the footsteps of One Direction and The Wanted and play a series of "small shows" for their fans in America. The group hope to record their sixth studio album in June and head to the Us in September for a few targeted concerts, Billboard reports. McFly have never toured America in the seven years they have been together and have released one American album Just My Luck, which coincided with the film of the same name in which they starred with Lindsay Lohan. Singer Tom Fletcher said: "We have some fans in America that have been fans for like eight or nine years - right from the beginning - so much so that they fly over to see us in the UK. "It's amazing that they are so dedicated. So I think we owe it to them to come over." McFly - featuring Fletcher,...

She said: “Lots of the women liked Gavin. When he took his top off, people didn’t know where to look. See, I’ve never had a partner below the age of 35. I’d like a really hunky young man so that my husband can get jealous!
“I danced with Harry Judd from McFly for Children in Need and that was brilliant. He was young and fit!”
Ola also confessed she would love to partner singer Peter Andre or young British royal Prince Harry on the dancefloor.
She added: “I’d love to get Peter Andre.

Would millionaire Bruce Wayne feel the impact of an economic downturn? How would a recession affect the Ghostbusters team? Simon has the answers...
In years gone by, many great scriptwriters speculated as to what this world's future would hold. Inevitably, the majority of their imaginations featured bleak dystopias with mankind on the brink of annihilation. Yet, ironically, none of these creative masterminds envisaged our small planet would face anything quite so desperate as the economic climate we're currently in.
After briefly musing upon such irony, I found myself faced with an intriguing question. Which of yesteryear's film characters could have survived under the merciless grip of the credit crunch, and which ones would have disintegrated quicker than that Nazi guy who chose the wrong grail in The Last Crusade?
Marty McFly - Back To The Future
There can be no doubt whatsoever that young Mr McFly would have excelled in these dark fiscal times.

Meat Loaf has implied that Simon Cowell doesn’t have the credentials to judge performers on his talent shows. Simon currently judges hopefuls on his shows The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol.
“I wanna talk to him really bad and say, ‘You have really good instincts but you’ve never walked a stage in your life’,” Meat Loaf told The Daily Record.
“Before you start telling somebody what to do, you have to understand the principles of stage. Simon has been really lucky to be in the right place at the right time.”
Though he recently acted as a judge on ITV1’s contest Popstar To Operastar, Meat Loaf claims that he isn’t a fan of the reality TV talent genre.
“I hate watching pop reality shows,” he said. “I switch off.”

Sources are reporting that ITV are planning to axe new series Popstar To Operastar after only one series.
Ptos ended last Friday night after Darius Campbell (previously Danesh) scooped the winners title from pop singer Bernie Nolan. It attracted just 4.6 million viewers for it’s final show.
An insider told The Sun:
“Ratings did pick up towards the end but the reality is it just didn’t capture the public’s interest.
“We thought it would be like Soapstar Superstar, which bagged seven million. But it just proved that people weren’t fussed about it.”
The source also revealed that ITV had originally hoped for bigger stars to front the show.
They added: “Last year there was talk of getting massive names like Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud as a contestant and Charlotte Church as a judge. But in the end the ’stars’ were of a much lower calibre.”

For his first number Darius Campbell sang ‘Non Piu Andrai’. He performed this song a few weeks back but on his decision to sing it again tonight he told Myleene Klass:
‘I wanted to see if I could get through this performance with my flies up!’
Judges Comments:
Katherine: When you came into this comp you had the heart of a tenor. It settled much more in your bass baritone voice this time. Your usual standard, brilliant.

Darius Campbell has revealed that he asked the Popstar To Operastar wardrobe team to sew up the flies on all future outfits.
The former Pop Idol star was left blushing last week, after Meatloaf pointed out that his flies were undone and that he was unwittingly exposing himself.
Darius told The Sun:
“I thought Meat Loaf was playing a joke on me when he said it in front of millions of viewers. But as soon as I reached down, I realised I hadn’t done my flies up.
“It was a nightmare and I couldn’t believe I had done it on national TV!
“About 20 minutes before I sang I realised my trousers were tight and tried them on without boxers. But I put them back on, thank goodness.”
