Albie Hecht continues his march through Hln, today whacking Showbiz Tonight in the midst of trophy season. The entire staff — about a dozen strong — is out, excluding host A.J. As with Leno’s team, laid-off Showbiz Tonight staffers are being encouraged to apply for other jobs at their network. “I want to thank the entire Showbiz Tonight crew for their many years of tireless dedication and work,” writes Hecht in a note to staff, obtained by TVNewser, which first reported the whacking that happened just shy of the show’s ninth anniversary on Hln. Gold Derby polled 17 Emmy experts, and the majority of them have come to the conclusion that Claire Danes ("Homeland") will win her second consecutive trophy as Best Drama Actress. Danes is backed by 11 individual experts, giving her overall odds of 2/3, or just about 60% of the vote. Besides her "Homeland" win last year, Danes also prevailed in 2010 as Best Movie/Miniseries Actress for "Temple Grandin." A win on Sunday night would be her third career Emmy, an impressive tally for an actor who is only 34-years-old. The 11 Emmy gurus favoring Danes are Robert Bianco (USA Today), Debra Birnbaum (TV Guide Magazine), Scott Feinberg (Hollywood Reporter), A.J. Hammer (CNN Hln Showbiz Tonight), Daniel Manu (TelevisionWithoutPity), Melanie McFarland (IMDb), Tom O'Neil (Gold Derby), Steve Pond (TheWrap), Matt Roush (TV Guide Magazine), Piya Sinha-Roy (Reuters) and Anne Thompson (Thompson on Hollywood). Experts' Emmy predictions: Bryan Cranston ('Breaking Bad') will tie record for Best Drama Actor wins
If our experts are correct, Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") will be "the one who knocks" on Emmy's door this Sunday in the highly competitve race for Best Drama Actor. This would be Cranston's fourth win in this category, tying him with current record-holder Dennis Franz who took home four trophies in the 90s for "NYPD Blue." Cranston has impressive odds of 2/3, or just under 60% of the vote from our vast array of Emmy experts. Eleven out of 17 gurus are betting on Cranston: Robert Bianco (USA Today), Debra Birnbaum (TV Guide Magazine), Mike Cidoni (Associated Press), A.J. Hammer (CNN Hln Showbiz Tonight), Melanie McFarland (IMDb), Steve Pond (TheWrap), Lynette Rice (Entertainment Weekly), Matt Roush (TV Guide Magazine), Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby), Piya Sinha-Roy (Reuters), Glenn Whipp (L.A. As she remains involuntarily committed to a hospital on a psychiatric hold, an old interview of Amanda Bynes' reminds us of the days when she was focused on keeping it together and avoiding the temptations of fame.
Back in 2007 during a "Showbiz Tonight" interview, the former Nickelodeon star responded to a question about how she managed to avoid jail, rehab, and other places young actresses like Lindsay Lohan may find themselves, saying, "I'm very lucky I have a great family and I have my eye on the prize which for me is a long career and I just don't want to blow what I've worked so hard to achieve."

Beverly Hills, Calif. — "Days of Our Lives" won drama series honors for just the second time in 40 years at the Daytime Emmys in a rough-hewn ceremony that included more upsets and an envelope mix-up on Sunday night.
The NBC soap opera that began in 1965 beat out defending champion "General Hospital" and former three-time winner "The Bold and the Beautiful," among others.
The category included the only four remaining soaps still airing on the broadcast networks in addition to "One Life to Live," which has found new life on the Internet after being canceled.
"Days" only other drama series win was in 1978.
The show claimed one other trophy: Chandler Massey as outstanding younger actor.
Doug Davidson of "The Young and the Restless" and Heather Tom of "The Bold and the Beautiful" won lead acting honors.

Both All My Children and One Life to Live will halt production 11 days earlier than planned, as a result of unresolved labor issues between the online soaps’ producer Prospect Park and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 52.
Prospect Park says the premature pause won’t affect viewers, that 40 episodes of each serial are already in the can, to air through September. Producers hope to have smoothed out any labor wrinkles by the hiatus’ planned end date of August 12.
