On Wednesday, we presented part one of our exclusive interview with choreographer Nakul Dev Mahajan as he talked about working with Miss America Nina Davuluri. In our fabulous conversation Nakul also indulged me and chatted even more about dance and his work on So You Think You Can Dance (Sytycd). Check out what he had to say about working on season 10 of the fabulous dance reality show and more in part 2 of our exclusive interview!
It was a great season this year for Bollywood on Sytycd…
You know, it was a little later than normal when they contacted me for this season. I never take anything for granted. That is just who I am. Anything that comes to me I embrace it I just feel a sense of gratitude, even if it is something that happens every year for me, I never, ever feel that it is going to happen no matter what.

Who: Judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, choreographers/guest judges Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, host Cat Deeley, plus performances by Phillip Chbeeb, Jason Glover, Caitlin Kinney, Ade Obayomi, and Melissa Sandvig. Predictions: Questions about when (not if) Paula Abdul will join the judging panel. 9:01 am/Pst: Interesting that Fox slotted this panel before the exec session. Maybe they thought we'd get all the Paula Abdul questions out of our systems here and have nothing left for entertainment prez Kevin Reilly. As if! 9:04 am: Fox is once again trying to butter us up with free DVDs, coffee table books, and fattening snacks. Lots of fattening snacks. 9:18 am: With the live performance portion of the session out of the way, the panelists take to the stage and the Abdul question kicks things off. Lythgoe says he would "absolutely" be interested in having Abdul join Dance. "I don't know anybody who...

Here's an admission: I have written Jason Glover off my list over the week.
I've been doing So You Think You Can Dance for five weeks now, and I've been pretty frustrated with him. Although, sure, he wasn't really that lucky during that five weeks. With his partner, the since-eliminated Caitlin Kinney, he kept on picking dances that didn't really fit them. Not everybody was amazed either, and those bottom three trips became the norm. When Caitlin got tossed, I knew Jason had to be next, puppy looks and all.
Sound the huge buzzer, folks. The stars finally aligned for him.

Last week I had the pleasure of sitting and chatting with Caitlin Kinney, the latest girl to be eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance.
From the moment she stepped on stage during try-outs, Caitlin made an impression on the judges and America with her expressive dance and explosive tumbling passes. After starting the season strong with a precise and passionate Bollywood routine, Caitlin and her partner Jason were plagued by the "dance hat of death." The couple only danced one routine, their last, in their genre--though Caitlin proved week after week that she could dance just about whatever genre was thrown at her.
During our interview (complete with a few technical difficulties and a goodbye to her family) Caitlin and I discussed the kinship she feels with former So You Think You Can Dance contestants, how hard it was to hear the judges comment on the lack of chemistry with her partner,...

The Tabitha- and Napoleon-choreographed "Seven Nation Army" group dance that kicked off tonight's So You Think You Can Dance top 12 elimination show was enough to make a girl pledge allegiance to the White Stripes. (Wow!) Sadly, it wasn't all zippy numbers—we also lost two well-regarded dancers. Who went home and why? We've got the scoop, straight from the set... Caitlin Kinney and Phillip Chbeeb were eliminated tonight. The other bottom-six dancers were Jason Glover, Jeanine Mason, Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obayomi. So why did Caitlin and Phillip go home? "So You Think You Can Dance" narrows it down to Top 10 with the elimination of Phillip Chbeeb and Caitlin Kinney on Thursday, July 9. The two dancers, who were not a pair on Wednesday show, got the boot after the judges went unanimous on the decision.
The good news is, Philip and Caitlin will still be touring nationally with the Top 10 starting this September. "I have secured with the producers that you - and Caitlin - will be on the tour," Head Judge Nigel Lythgoe announced after cutting Phillip.
Los Angeles Times has unleashed the list of dates and cities which the Top 12 will visit this fall. It will begin September 20 at Manchester's Verizon Wireless Arena and conclude November 21 at Everett's Comcast Arena. Tickets will go on sale July 25.
Phillip and his dancing partner Jeanine Mason brought Jive and Russian folk to the dance floor on Wednesday. Caitlin, partnering with Jason Glover,...

Two more dancers got the axe on 'So You Think You Can Dance,' narrowly missing a coveted spot in the Top 10. But Caitlin Kinney and Phillip Chbeeb got some good news from head judge Nigel Lythgoe -- despite missing the cut, they'll still go on tour this summer with the Top 10. Next week, all contestants will get new partners, including Caitlin and Phillip's, Jason Glover and Jeanine Mason. The other couple in danger, for the first time, were Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obayomi. ...Read more

On the July 9,2009 "So You Think You Can Dance" elimination show, the contestants started of with a performance to a song called "Seven Nation Army" choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon. The song had a really nice beat too. They talked about how this is the last week that the judges have a final say on the results because after this week they're down to the final 10 contestants. Then they got right to business, reviewing the couples performances. Jason Glover & Caitlin Kinney were the first to be revealed to be in the bottom three before the first break.

Full disclosure: I'm a rabid So You Think You Can Dance fan. Every summer for the past four years the talent on display on this show simply blows every other reality competition out of the water. So much so, that one can even overlook the nagging, hetero-cheerleading presence of producer Nigel Lythgoe on the judging panel.
Nigel's peculiar obsession with the masculinity of male dancers aside, Sytycd raises your standards when it comes to dance. I mean, once you start watching this show it is awfully hard to sit through an episode of Dancing with the Stars.
Sytycd is now in its fifth season, and every year we wonder if they can assemble dancers talented enough to stack up against previous season standouts such as Travis Wall, Danny Tidwell, Neil Haskell, and a host of others.
Well, last week the show announced its finalists for the new season, and the...
