Cult sketch group Whitest Kids U’ Know has had countless collaborations, most notably a five-season run of their eponymous IFC series. Their most recently announced project is an animated film named “Mars,” which was in development before the 2021 death of member Trevor Moore.
During the press cycle of his latest directorial effort, “Barbarian,” Wkuk member Zach Cregger gave an update on the project.
“We had written a movie called ‘Mars’ and the plan was always for it to be an animated feature,” Cregger said. “Before Trevor died, we recorded all of his dialogue, and we’ve crowdfunded the budget for this movie. It’s like 300,000, a little more. And we’re currently making it, I think we’re going to wrap it up in about a month or so and I think it’s great.”

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has ruled the death earlier this year of comedian, actor, producer and sketch-comedy group The Whitest Kids U Know co-founder Trevor Moore an accident.
Moore died August 6 after a fall from a second-story balcony at his Los Angeles home. He was 41.
The cororner said in its report that the accident occurred in Moore’ backyard, where he was found on the patio. He died of blunt force head trauma. The report also found that Moore’s blood alcohol content was well over the legal limit.
The report said it viewed security camera footage that showed Moore exit the residence and “jump over the railing.”
In addition to being a founding member of The Whitest Kids U Know, Moore wrote and directed on the Disney Xd series Walk the Prank, about a group of kids who pull off real pranks on unsuspecting people. Most recently, he...

Another classic film from the 80s is getting a series adaptation! This time, CBS is developing a show based on Bill Murray and Harold Ramis' comedy Stripes. I love that movie! I just recently watched it again last month and it's one of those movies that still makes me laugh! Variety offers the following details:
Like the film, the series will follow a perennial rebellious outsider who finally finds his purpose in life when he joins the Us military and must unite a group of ragtag eccentrics. The original 1981 film starred Bill Murray in the lead role with Harold Ramis playing his best friend and Ivan Reitman directing. It grossed over $85 million during its theatrical run.
You won't see any of the original cast come back for the series, but the director of the original film, Ivan Reitman, will helm and produce it, so that's pretty cool! The series...

Stripes, the Bill Murray comedy classic, is getting a single-camera sitcom on CBS...
In the race to create more content for television and film that echoes back to nostalgic properties, it was inevitable that one day it would be Stripes’ turn. CBS announced late Thursday that the comedy classic from Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis, and the irreplaceable Bill Murray at the top of his lethargic disinterest is getting a television series.
Indeed, as revealed via Deadline, Stripes will be a single-camera comedy for CBS (so more Young Sheldon and less Big Bang) and will of course be a workplace comedy of sorts about the United States military. The project is being developed by the production company Whitest Kids U’Know, with Trevor Moore, Sam Brown, and Zach Creggar writing the script. Meanwhile Reitman, fresh off producing the Ghostbusters remake last year, will both be an...

What’s that, you say? Yet another TV series adaptation of a movie?!
Lighten up, Francis.
CBS has put in development a single-camera comedy series based on Stripes, the 1981 Ivan Reitman film starring Bill Murray and Harold Ramis (and P.J. Soles, if teenage Matt has any say in this).
Per our sister site Deadline, Reitman would direct and exec-produce the adaptation, to be penned by the Whitest Kids U’Know’s Trevor Moore, Sam Brown and Zach Cregger and again follow a rebellious outsider who finds his purpose by enlisting with the Army, where he joins a ragtag unit of misfits.

As some 4,500 employees awake to news of HMV’s continuing financial problems, the company’s boss has said he is confident of finding a solution to the popular retailers problems.
In a statement to the press, Trevor Moore said that the company had sought help from administrators Deloitte but remained convinced they would find a successful business outcome.
The news of HMV’s woes came to light last night when it was announced they intended to appoint an administrator claiming online competition had dealt a serious blow financially, especially after a slow Christmas.
