“We had a lot of fun in Istanbul because it was the opening of the season” declares Oscar-nominated cinematographer Danny Cohen (“The King’s Speech”) about the acclaimed third season of the Apple TV+ spy drama “Slow Horses.” It opens in the Turkish city, but then soon finds itself back in the decidedly unglamorous Slough House, the MI5 office reserved for the outcasts and misfits of the British intelligence agency. For our recent webchat he adds with a smile, “you instantly have the idea to sell the audience a complete red herring that they’re going on some sort of ‘James Bond’ travelogue. See the world, travel the globe, beaches, interesting cities, and then to use that as a hook to then drag everybody back to the well-worn interiors of Slough House.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

The third season of “Slow Horses,” easily TV’s best spy thriller and one of the best shows of the year, comes to a close this week in the game-changing finale “Footprints.” In the 45-minute episode, which is now streaming on Apple TV+, the various members of Slough House find themselves with their backs up against a wall only to defy all possible expectations once more.
As Lamb (Golden Globe nominee Gary Oldman) and Ho (Christopher Chung) attempt to rescue Standish (Saskia Reeves) and evade capture, River (Jack Lowden), Louisa (Rosalind Eleazar), Marcus (Kadiff Kirwan) and Shirley (Aimee-Ffion Edwards) must fight off the Dogs sicced on them by Tearney (Sophie Okonedo) in order to cover her ass and keep Mi-5’s dirty little secrets under lock and key. Slow Horses is finally back with a whole new season filled with espionage, institutional failure, corruption, dark jokes, and deadly farts. The Apple TV+ series recently came out with its much anticipated third season and once again it revolves around the MI5 failures who are occupying Slough House. In the new season, we see a member of the Slow Horses getting kidnapped and how the rest of the team fights with everything they have to get them back.
As always Slow Horses isn’t your typical spy thriller because its characters and stories are as far from James Bond as they could be, and in my opinion, that’s what made Slow Horses one of the best espionage thriller ever made.

Jobs can suck. If you’re past 25, you’ve probably had one that left you feeling like a three-legged whippet abandoned at the pound. Maybe everything was grand, and then there was a regime change, and the new boss won’t talk to you. Then you get demoted after getting blamed for something that was really Dilbert No. 8’s fault. Your sense of self-worth nosedives, and you must seek out a therapist who is not in your network. You wander the streets looking up “gaslighting” on your phone and wondering if it is you who sucks.
This is pretty much the setup for Apple TV+’s “Slow Horses” which begins its delightfully grim third season on Wednesday. Ok, there’s a lot of intrigue and gunfire, but at its core it is the tale of precariously employed worker drones making their way through a broken workplace led by a flatulent...

In theory, Slow Horses should not work as an ongoing series, whether in the books by Mick Herron or the Apple TV+ show that returns for its third season today. The stories involve a group of disgraced British spies, consigned to a dingy office where they’re not meant to do any important work, but who keep stumbling into major cases, and acquit themselves well doing so. Once seems like a fine idea for a story. But two? Three? Or, in the case of the books, eight? At a certain point,...

Slow Horses is back with its much-awaited third season, and I am happy to say that it is even better than what came before. The Gary Oldman dark comedy-drama has to be one of the best TV shows in the entire world, but sadly it is still not getting the attention it deserves.
Based on the third novel of the Slough House book series titled Real Tigers by Mick Herron, the new season starts in Istanbul with Alison Dunn (Katherine Waterston), an MI5 agent, and Sean Donovan (Sope Dirisu), head of security. The relationship between these two sets up the events for the upcoming episodes and while we don’t see the Slow Horses in the opening scene, they get caught up in this new mess pretty soon.

Apple TV+ is shifting up its rollout strategy for Slow Horses Season 3, and it means we'll be getting new episodes sooner.
As revealed Tuesday morning, the highly-anticipated next chapter of the Gary Oldman drama will now premiere on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
It was previously revealed that new episodes would air beginning December 1, 2023, so we're getting them two days earlier.
Apple TV+ has been experimenting with rolling out shows earlier in the week, and it worked very well for Ted Lasso Season 3, so we're inclined to believe this will be a good thing for this hit drama series.
We also got our first look at Slow Horses Season 3 today, with Apple TV+ sharing the official trailer.
If there's one thing we know about Slow Horses, it's that the series features a lot of talented individuals, and that will continue.

Later in the clip, River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) calls from a besieged warehouse to tell Lamb, “There are men outside with guns. Some backup might be handy.”
Lamb’s nonchalant reply, “Well, I’m busy.”
Responds a frustrated Cartwright, “Ok, thanks, I’m sure the situation will resolve itself.”

Ozzy Osbourne, the Godfather of Metal, may be most famous for his legendary contributions to the music genre, but the Prince of Darkness has also acted in a handful of movies. He's far from the first rock star to do so, but his choice of roles prove his sense of humor and knack for camp. Folks may recognize him from his cameos in comedies like "Austin Powers in Goldmember" and "Little Nicky," or voice cameos in "Gnomeo & Juliet" and "Trolls 2: World Tour," but earlier on he appeared in the lesser-known 1986 heavy metal horror film "Trick or Treat."
Not to be confused with the 2007 Halloween-themed anthology "Trick 'r Treat," "Trick or Treat" is a tongue-in-cheek relic of a time when conservative commentators were denouncing metal music as a serious threat to the public order. The story follows high school metalhead Eddie Weinbauer, played by Marc Price, and his quest...

In the wake of a young Jewish girl’s disappearance, the son of a Hasidic funeral director returns home with his pregnant wife in hopes of reconciling with his father. The truth is, if Slow Horses aired on the BBC, it would be all anyone talked about. It’s that good. Frankly, it’s a higher calibre offering than many dramas on prime time TV, but, because it airs on Apple TV+, a streaming service currently with fewer than two million UK subscribers, it’s yet to get the popularity it deserves.
If you haven’t yet watched the first two series of this spy thriller, let us catch you up on why you absolutely should before Slow Horses Series 3 comes out, hopefully later this year.
Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House novel series, the show centres on a team of haphazard MI5 agents who have variously disgraced themselves on the job. While their offences aren’t quite P45-worthy, it’s enough to get them exiled from MI5 HQ to a supposedly boring admin role at the depressingly dingy Slough House,...

“Gangs of London” star Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù has joined the third season of Apple TV+’s British spy series “Slow Horses” as an ex-security boss, Variety can reveal.
Dìrísù is set to play Sean Donovan, the former head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul, in the show, which is based on best-selling author Mick Herron’s “Slow Horses” books.
“Slow Horses” sees Gary Oldman bring to life Herron’s slobby anti-hero Jackson Lamb, who leads a gang of misfit MI5 operatives demoted to Slough House after making career-ending mistakes. Season 3 will see the team having to overcome their differences and work together when one of their members if kidnapped by a rogue agent.
In the third instalment of Herron’s literary series, titled “Real Tigers,” Donovan is also revealed to have a romantic link to one of the main ensemble, although it’s unknown how closely the screen adaptation will follow the books.

Exclusive: Gary Oldman has found “great joy” in playing the Falstaffian, flatulent-sharing, British espionage operative Jackson Lamb in Apple TV+’s Slow Horses, which has just launched season two. Meanwhile, the Harry Potter star confirmed he will play Harry Truman in one scene in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Lank-haired Lamb plays the operative in charge of a host of lost causes exiled out of harms way to Slough House where they wind up defending the realm from harm.
Lamb looks shambolic in shabby raincoat, weather-proofed by beer stains and slops of Kung-pao chicken, and yet you can never underestimate him.

Note: The following contains spoilers for “Slow Horses” Season 2 Episode 3
The death of a former MI5 agent set in motion a plot involving Russian sleeper agents in “Slow Horses” Season 2, and in Episode 3, “Drinking Games,” Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) learns that one of his own agents has also been killed.
Slow Horses Min Harper (Dustin Demri-Burns) and Louisa Guy (Rosalind Eleazar), who are also in a romantic relationship, were asked by James “Spider” Web (Freddie Fox) to run security on an upcoming meeting with an elusive Russian. After a fight, Min tailed their Russian contacts on his own, who quickly spotted him and pulled a gun on him… before inviting him in for several shots of vodka.
A wobbly and inebriated Min headed home on his bicycle, only to be hit by a car and killed in a tunnel. When Lamb and Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves) arrived on scene, the...

Despite the heroism and quick thinking shown by disgraced MI5 agent River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) in Season 1 of “Slow Horses,” he’s back at Slough House under the disapproving eye of boss Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman). And, Lowden told TheWrap, Lamb still doesn’t have that much faith in River as “Slow Horses” returns for Season 2 to Apple TV+.
“It doesn’t matter what they do. They’ve got to do something really special to get back to where they want to be, I think,” said Lowden of his fellow “horses,” who include Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves), Louisa Guy (Rosalind Eleazar), Min Harper (Dustin Demri-Burns), and tech whiz Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung).
As it turns out, saving a high-profile kidnap victim from decapitation wasn’t quite enough to get them reinstated with MI5.

In Apple TV+ hit “Slow Horses,” Christopher Chung stars as the obnoxious (yet endearing) hacker Roddy Ho.

Review: Espionage is such a great concept that has factored into countless films and series over the years. Spies and secret agents make for thrilling storytelling that never lacks intensity or a deep well of material to make for entertaining tales. Plot: When brilliant scientist Amber Chesborough vanishes along the Colombia-Venezuela border, her brother and her husband—both elite U.S. Army commandos—struggle to find her amid a guerilla war, discovering that the woman they love might have a secret.
Review: Mark Boal has made a career out of telling military stories. From those grounded in true stories (Zero Dark Thirty) to those inspired by reality (The Hurt Locker), Boal has also transitioned to action-oriented blockbusters like Triple Frontier. His latest project is Echo 3, an international espionage thriller full of gritty action and military tactics that attempts to tell a sociopolitical drama full of heavy stuntwork and complicated storytelling. Despite some truly pulse-pounding firefights that rival any of his big-screen efforts, Mark Boal’s characters cannot rise to the same level of complexity as the action sequences. Echo 3 is decent but far from as good as it should, or could, be.

Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for the much anticipated second season of ‘Slow Horses,’ the globally acclaimed espionage series starring Academy Award-winner Gary Oldman.
In the six-episode season two, long-buried Cold War secrets emerge which threaten to bring carnage to the streets of London. When a liaison with Russian villains takes a fatal turn, our hapless heroes must overcome their individual failings and raise their spy game in a race to prevent a catastrophic incident.
The darkly humorous espionage drama follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Oldman stars as ‘Jackson Lamb,’ the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.
Starring alongside Oldman in the ensemble cast are Academy Award-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas,...

“Slow Horses” is back and better than ever for its second season, though things are not as simple as they seem when the Slough House takes on a case that leader Jackson Lamb feels is “too suspicious.”
