Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon tested the limits of NBC’s Password on Tuesday night (April 30) when he gave a clue that some viewers felt should have seen him disqualified. The game show sees two teams, each consisting of one celebrity player and one civilian player, competing to guess the “password” based on clues from their teammates. However, the players are not allowed to use the actual word itself when giving their clues. In Tuesday’s episode, Fallon’s team faced off against Howie Mandel‘s team, and things got a little dicey during the “Passwords You Can Do An Impression Of” round. According to The Sun U.S., the first clue “Yoda” was left unanswered after Mandel’s partner couldn’t figure out his interpretation. However, they nailed the second password, which was “Elmo.” However, the third password, “Godfather,” led to controversy. Fallon gave the first clue of “family,...

Jerry Seinfeld is in full support of Larry David’s infamous Elmo attack. The comedian said Wednesday that he “enjoyed” watching his friend shove the beloved puppet off his balance in a February altercation that took the Internet by storm.
Seinfeld spoke about the incident during an appearance on the Today show, after host Jenna Bush Hager asked him, “Did you see when Larry David was here and he attacked Elmo?”
As co-host Hoda Kotb said it was “sad,” Seinfeld responded, “No, I liked it. I enjoyed that!”
On Feb. 1, David walked onstage at the Today show while the group was taping a segment about mental health with Elmo and physically attacked the Sesame Street puppet. The incident took the hosts by surprise, and later caused great discussion on the Internet, with many speaking out against David.

"Because he's the hero Los Angeles deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll laugh at him because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a likable antihero, an outspoken curmudgeon. He is a social justice knight."
After 12 seasons and 24 years, Larry David has finished kvetching.
Whereas most people can only see Larry David as the real-life George Constanza, the antisocial miscreant who creates conflict wherever he goes, I will always see Larry David as the penultimate social justice warrior.
A man who not only stands up for conversational injustice but a man who also foresees the future of American civil liberties in ways we're just not supposed to foresee yet.

The list of people that bug Larry David could fill a phone book, but one target of his general disdain for humanity isn’t one we would have expected: Elmo – and he’s not even human! The same week that Elmo began trending for doing a wellness check on his followers, Larry David did what so many wanted to do when Tickle Me Elmo came out. Yes, Larry David assaulted Elmo…and he’d do it again if he had the chance.
When asked about the incident not too long ago on Today – in which Larry David grabbed Elmo’s face and swatted at his father, Louie – David told Seth Meyers, “Elmo was talking. I was waiting to be interviewed, and Elmo was going on about mental health and I had to listen to every word. And I was going, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, I don’t think...

Puppeteers working to bring Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock to life are speaking out about that moment when, on the Today show in February, comic actor Larry David physically attacked beloved Sesame Street favorite Elmo live on-air.
At a press event for the release of Apple TV’s Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock this week, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with puppeteers John Tartaglia (puppeteer for Gobo Fraggle) and Dan Garza (puppeteer for Junior Gorg), who said they were taken aback by David’s unplanned attack on the puppet, which they said could be potentially dangerous for puppeteers.
“You know, there was a person’s hand inside of there and that wasn’t a pretty planned thing. And so the puppeteer in me was like, ‘Oh my god, that’s super dangerous. Like, you just grabbed someone’s hand and twisted it,’” Tartaglia said, confirming that ultimately the puppeteer was Ok.

Bill Maher tapes his show, which means news that breaks on Friday is usually not mentioned.
Such was the case on Friday’s Real Time, as earlier in the day, stories broke that Maher has fired his longtime agents at CAA, allegedly over not being invited to agency head Bryan Lourd’s A-list house party during Oscars week.
Ironically, Maher’s “New Rules” editorial was about the trend toward whining about the small stuff in life.
“Being obsessed with your mental heath is bad for your mental heath,” he proclaimed. He tied it to why President Joe Biden’s approval rating is so low “when things are pretty good.” He cited the modern blessings of next day shopping, stuffed crust pizza, and porn on your phone. So “cheer the f**k up,” he advised.
“Yes, you are on the spectrum,” Maher said. “So’s everyone alive. That’s why they call it a spectrum.

Wil Wheaton has unloaded on Larry David for the Curb Your Enthusiasm star’s on-air Elmo attack.
The Star Trek: The Next Generation actor posted an intense 900-word essay on Facebook about the purportedly unscripted viral stunt, where David throttled the ever-cheerful and child-like Sesame Street icon live on NBC’s Today during a segment on mental health, and then told viewers “somebody had to do it.” David was prodded into apologizing for the incident, but he did so seemingly reluctantly and with a smile.
Wheaton had a strong reaction to the footage and revealed he was abused in a similar way growing up. His rant has made some reexamine last week’s incident — which was largely greeted with amusement online — while others are mocking the actor as “profanely oversensitive.”

Savannah Guthrie called out Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David over his furious attack on lovable Sesame Street star Elmo.
The moment occurred on live television as Larry and Elmo were guests on NBC’s Today earlier this week.
Elmo appeared on the show with his dad, Louie, to discuss mental health and other topics.
They stood behind a couch on the set with Craig Melvin, Hoda Kotb, and Savannah seated there.
Savannah tried to send it over to Al Roker to give an update on the weather, but Al and Hoda interrupted her.
Al appeared on camera and said, “Not yet,” as he looked off-camera.

“Wait, wait, wait,” Hoda was heard saying, and the camera returned to a shot of the set as a loud commotion started.

This week, the morning talk show circuit saw a good bit of violence when Larry David hit Elmo, the muppet, live on The Today Show.
It started with a viral tweet where the muppet asked how everyone was doing. Then, during a segment on The Today Show with Elmo and Larry David crossing paths, Larry David acted outrageously.
Live on The Today Show, Larry did a bit where he accosted Elmo, and people got mad. Larry was made to apologize for the actions.
It isn’t known if this skit was planned or just something impromptu that Larry did to gain attention for his show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
It gained enough attention that the ladies on The View covered the heated topic. This even caused division amongst the ladies as Joy Behar defended Larry David.
Then all this violence ended with Sara Haines yelling at Joy Behar live on The View,...

The incomparable Larry David has never been one to shy away from a bit of self-promotion. And this week’s run-up to the 12th and (allegedly) final season of his long-running HBO comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, has been no exception. In fact, from throttling a beloved Muppet to tanking a cringe-inducing interview at his own premiere event, you might say that this time, L.D. has outdone himself. Here’s a look at his wild media appearances ahead of season 12 of the Emmy-winning hit.
Larry vs. Elmo

But, well, here we are, after David just couldn’t take Elmo’s take on the importance of maintaining mental health anymore. A defiant Larry David told Seth Meyers on Thursday night that he just couldn’t take any more of Elmo’s treacly sentiments, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. Literally.
David was asked by Meyers during an appearance on NBC’s Late Night about his infamous moment earlier that day on the Today show. That’s when David pulled an unexpected move after Elmo’s speech about mental health and checking in on people, walking onto the set and throttling the furry red Sesame Street icon in an effort to shut him up.
“Somebody had to do it!” David said at the time, though he later gave a coerced apology after prompting by the Today co-hosts.
Asked by Meyers last night what happened, David initially declined comment. “I don’t think I want to talk about it,” he said.

Larry David is walking back the on-air apology he issued to Sesame Street’s Elmo Monster after the comic actor throttled and beat the Muppet on NBC’s Today earlier Thursday.
Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star explained what motivated his attack on the beloved furry little monster, who was appearing before David on the morning show, alongside his father, Louie, to discuss well-being resources offered by Sesame Street. But in a shocking and — given the camera cuts and surprised looks of hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb — seemingly unplanned moment, the high-pitched, 3 1/2-year-old Muppet’s segment was interrupted by David, who had apparently had enough of Elmo’s disquisition.
“Elmo was talking. I was waiting to be interviewed,” David explained to Meyers. “And Elmo was (in Elmo voice) going on about mental health. And I had to listen to every word.

“Someone had to do it.”
That was the explanation given by Larry David after throttling Elmo on live television, an apparent response to the treacly sentiments of the Sesame Street character. Elmo has been much in the news for asking via X how everyone was doing. This time, he got his answer directly.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm star and Elmo were guests on the Today show Thursday when the confrontation broke out just before an Al Roker weather segment. David walked on and began vigorously choking Elmo.
Elmo was just wrapping up a segment about his viral mental health tweet when David showed him what’s up.
Hosts Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin were stunned, but defended the furry red character. Guthrie told Larry he’d gone too far, and Roker said he wasn’t surprised by David’s actions.
David apologized before his segment on the upcoming Curb Your Enthusiasm season.

We humans know that when someone asks us in passing, “How are you?” we are to say “I’m well, thanks, how are you?” And then we go about our day, miserable or not. But Muppets not so smart. Sometimes Muppets not understand human psyche or how to read room. And that’s just the situation Elmo found himself in this week, making the mistake of asking people who probably spend a good chunk of their day on social media how they’re doing.
In his Monday morning check into his 525,000 followers’ well being, the beloved Muppet asked, “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?” Any guesses as to how the majority of the 16,000+ responses went?

Elmo’s having a rough week.
First the internet trauma dumped on the Sesame Street icon after his viral post on X (formerly known as Twitter), and on Thursday morning, Larry David attacked the cheerful red puppet on live TV.
The famously curmudgeonly Curb Your Enthusiasm star was waiting for his upcoming segment to promote his HBO comedy’s final season on NBC’s Today when he seemingly surprised everyone by walking onto an unrelated live segment featuring Elmo, grabbing the puppet’s face and mock pummeling it.
“Somebody had to do it!” David cried.
The moment was purportedly unscripted, with sudden camera cuts to catch up with the action and looks on the faces of hosts Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
Elmo squeaked out something in reaction that sounded like, “Mr. Larry, Elmo liked you before.”
“Larry, you’ve gone too far this time,” Guthrie chastised.

Larry David was forced to issue an apology on “Today” after he spontaneously attacked Elmo live on camera. The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator and the “Sesame Street” icon were separate interview guests on the NBC morning show, but they had a brief crossover moment when David crashed the set and groped Elmo’s face, much to the horror of the “Today” hosts.
