Jessie James Decker has taken the Grand Ole Opry stage before, but every time is more and more special.
During her most recent performance at the iconic Nashville, Tennessee, theatre this past October, Decker sang “Didn’t You Cry” with co-writer Alyssa Bonagura.
“One of my favorite things about country music is our ability to tell stories, and the other great thing about country music is when you tell your story, it doesn’t always have to be yours — that’s the beauty of it,” Decker told the audience. “Sometimes you want to tell somebody else’s story.”

Great news for fans of filmmaker Jeff Lipsky, her controversial and critically acclaimed sixth feature “Mad Women” is now available digitally, for rent or download, on Amazon and Vimeo-on-Demand.
The official synopsis reads: "'Mad Women' is a dark satire about Harper Smith, a middle-aged mom who, following a one-year prison sentence for having committed an act of conscience, becomes a local hero and folk legend in her small community of Iris Glen, NY. She runs for local office but has much grander aspirations up her sleeve. She is a woman accustomed to personal challenges: She lost her third child at the age of three to cancer, her first-born daughter, a pediatrician, is in Ukraine having joined Doctors Without Borders, her own mother lost an eye in her youth in an archery mishap, and her husband, a successful and beloved dentist, commits statutory rape under the influence of LSD at a rock concert. It’s up to Harper and her middle daughter, Nevada, to persevere, and they do, as a most unlikely mother/daughter bond emerges."
About the genesis of “Mad Women” Lipsky explains: “I began writing 'Mad Women' in early 2013, just after President Obama’s second inaugural, moments after a season of political drivel came to an end, and seemingly seconds before cable outlets began their non-stop palaver about the 2016 election. So I set out to conjure up my personal candidate, one whose idealism can’t be blunted, even as the world would be playing whack-a-mole with her. When I finished the script I knew there could never be a ‘Harper Smith.’ But now that Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are front-runners, well, now I’m not so sure anymore!”
“Mad Women” marks the third consecutive collaboration between Lipsky and co-star Reed Birney (“House of Cards,” 2014 Tony Award nominee “Casa Valentina”). It also spotlights three extraordinary actresses – Kelsey Lynn Stokes, Christina Starbuck, and Sharon Van Ivan (John Cassavetes’ “Opening Night”) and marks a reunion for Lipsky with Jamie Harrold who co-starred in “Flannel Pajamas.” Lipsky’s previous films include “Twelve Thirty,” “Molly’s Theory of Relativity,” and “Once More With Feeling,” which along with “Flannel Pajamas,” have starred Justin Kirk, Julianne Nicholson, Jonathan Groff, Mamie Gummer, Chazz Palminteri, Drea deMatteo, Linda Fiorentino, Cady Huffman, Rebecca Schull, Halley Feiffer and Barbara Barrie.

The 21-year-old “Runaways” actress donned faux fur with sunglasses and boots as she posed for photographer Harper Smith. And it sounds like she’s enjoying her life in Manhattan these days-
“There’s a man on my corner who thinks I’m an Olsen. He’ll yell, ‘Hey Olsen!’ at me. It’s really funny.”
Of her decision to ditch social media, Dakota explained, “I feel like if I did it, I’d start to measure my experiences by how good of an Instagram it’s going to turn into. And I don’t want to be living my life trying to see it all in a square, trying to get a photo.” Fanning also commented on...

On acting in the Us:
"Americans really appreciate an English approach to acting. I don't think my English approach came from studying - it came from living there for 12 years. English people are serious about their work but they don't take themselves seriously. That is a really good asset to have when you are an actor. There are a huge volume of auditions in America - that is such good practice.

On Saturday in the shadow of Westminster Abbey, amidst the power-hungry elite of Whitehall and Downing Street, gathered an even more sinister and corrupting influence. Darth Vader rubbed shoulders with evil twins, corrupted children, vampires, zombies and even Jack the Ripper. Overseeing this evil conclave were directors whose films were so depraved that sometimes sick bags were supplied to the audience.
Horror film buffs were of course overjoyed at the fantastic selection of stars at this Hammer and Horror Film event. Representing the Bond girls were Caroline Munro, Caron Gardner, Martine Beswick and Madeline Smith.

When Big Love debuted on HBO back in 2006, it was with no small amount of controversy. Some criticized the show for potentially making polygamists look sympathetic, while also possibly sensationalizing the subject of group marriage. Meanwhile, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints voiced concerns over how the show would depict Mormons. In 2009, church leaders accused the show’s writers and producers of being insensitive toward their religion, as well as blurring the line between the Lds Church and the show’s fictional characters.
Then there was the fact that some viewed the show, created by two gay men, Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer (partners in real life), as a thinly veiled allegory for gay marriage. Additionally, some gay viewers were troubled by the fact that the show also made one of the series’ central villains the “pathologically closeted” Alby Grant (Matt Ross), who wasn’t only amoral and ruthless,...

In two seasons Community has built a loyal following of pop culture aficionados who play along each week trying to decipher to references and meta-humor buried in every episode. Oftentimes the iconic imagery is pulled from movies and TV shows made before some of the stars of the show were even born. In a recent conference call interview actors Danny Pudi (who plays Abed) and Alison Brie (who plays Annie) discussed being too young to get some of the jokes, who gets the most laughs on set and how the series has evolved.

When Community premiered last year, we expected Chevy Chase and Joel McHale to carry show. After all, Chase is a comedy legend and Joel is our pop culture hero on The Soup. Our hopes were pinned on them for a good hearty laugh every Thursday night. What we did not expect was that the majority of the humor would come from the rest of the supporting ensemble—in particular Danny Pudi (Abed), Ken Jeong (Senor Chang), and Jim Rash (Dean Pelton).
The three have also taken on bigger roles on the show's webisodes. In the past Abed and Chang have starred in a web series involving Spanish assignments, space travel, action, and adventure. This season the featured web series is Dean Pelton’s Office Hours. Jim Rash takes us inside the inner sanctum of Greendale's fearless leader as he tackles the problems of some of...

NBC's new sitcom Outsourced premiered on September 23 to mixed reviews. Apparently the network has high hopes for the show, adding it to its what use to be known as the "Must See TV" Thursday night line-up. The traditional hit-making comedy block was the Peacock's plume in the '90s with shows like Friends, The Cosby Show, Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace.
So Outsourced has big shoes to fill, wedged between current tried and true NBC ratings-winners like Community, 30 Rock, The Office, and The Apprentice. It should get a built in audience, but the jury is still out on whether they will become loyal fans or just bide their time until Parks and Recreation returns in January.
We think Outsourced is worth a shot. It definitely has a new spin on the workplace sitcom—a company that has moved its call center to Mumbai, India.

Chicago – The broadcast network rookie class of 2009 was one of the best of all time with “Community,” “Glee,” “Modern Family,” “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “The Middle,” and “Cougar Town” finding loyal fans. Even relative (and mostly canceled) missteps like “FlashForward,” “V,” “Mercy,” and “Melrose Place” were interesting disasters. Will the upcoming season continue the pattern or drop the broadcast nets back into the misery of being unable to find a new hit?
Don’t get your hopes up. Having seen at least rough cuts of all of the new programs except for the still-in-production “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” we can say without a doubt that this upcoming freshmen class will not produce the same number of all-stars as last year. Even the majority of the ten shows below are going to require some tinkering to stand out. It should be noted that most of what we’ve seen...
