The new rock band The Effect, featuring the sons of Genesis’ Phil Collins and Toto’s Steve Lukather, have teamed up with Steve Perry himself for a cover of the Journey song “It Could Have Been You.”
Alongside drummer Nic Collins and guitarist Trev Lukather, The Effect are fronted by singer Emmett Stang. On the band’s version of “It Could Have Been You,” Stang’s lead vocals take center stage, with Perry contributing backing vocals and ad libs throughout the track.
An accompanying music video shows The Effect performing the song in silhouette. While Perry doesn’t appear in the video, he did issue a statement expressing his excitement over The Effect covering the 1986 song by his former band:
“In 1986, the Journey Raised on Radio record was released and in it was a song I’ve always felt was a diamond in the ruff. I’ve known Trev Lukather since he was 9 years old,...

Michael Jackson‘s Thriller had more classic hits than just about any other album. However, most of those hits did not reach No. 1. Even when the King of Pop made an epic music video, a chart-topper was not guaranteed.
1. ‘Thriller’
The fact that “Thriller” didn’t hit No. 1 feels bizarre. No other music video mattered so much to American culture and yet the tune only peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. If Billboard counted sales of the video’s VHS as single sales, “Thriller” definitely would have hit No. 1.
Jackson (and Vincent Price) got the last laugh on this one. Everybody loves “Thriller.” It’s not just a popular Halloween song, it’s the Halloween song. It certainly held up a lot better than “Monster Mash.” The song’s classic video has been spoofed by everyone from Britney Spears to “Weird Al” Yankovic.
2. ‘The Girl Is Mine’
Not every song deserves to hit No.

“The Return of the Projectionist,” which is running in the main competition at Swiss doc fest Visions du Réel, where it will have its world premiere, has been picked up by Paris-based doc specialist Cat&Docs.
The feature debut of Orkhan Aghazadeh, it tells the story of Samid, a former projectionist in Azerbaijan’s remote Talysh mountains, who is determined to bring cinema back to life in his village using his old Soviet film projector.
He encounters a number of hurdles along the way but he also finds an unexpected ally in 16-year-old Ayaz, a film fan who experiments with animation clips on his smartphone and is eager to learn from Samid.
Aghazadeh chanced upon the story when shooting his graduation short film “The Chairs.” Samid was to be the film’s main character but the relationship with Ayaz emerged as shooting started.

The Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox is home to a variety of unique horror content, from originals and exclusives to cult classics and documentaries. With such a rapidly-growing library, there are many hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary
If bustin’ makes you feel good, Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary should be at the top of your queue. Imagine Sam Raimi remaking Ghostbusters from a Kevin Williamson script, and you have a pretty good idea of what this Brazilian horror-comedy is like: gory, self-aware, irreverent, and wildly entertaining.
When a local high school summons Bloody Mary, the Ghoulbusters — a team of local YouTubers with a cheesy ghost hunting show — are called in to take out the vengeful spirit. In addition to possessing people to the point of cranial combustion, the ghost exploits the high school setting by haunting inanimate objects,...

The Effect — a new rock band featuring drummer Nic Collins (son of Genesis’ Phil Collins) and guitarist Trev Lukather (son of Toto’s Steve Lukather) — have unveiled the single “Toxic Envy.” The song is the opening track to their self-titled album, set for release later this year.
The Los Angeles-based band, which is rounded out by newcomer singer Emmett Stang and keyboardist Steve Maggiora (a current touring member of Toto), previously introduced itself last year with the songs “Unwanted” and “Something Wrong.”
“Toxic Envy” is a hard-rocking tune with a soaring chorus that calls to mind ’80s arena rock. “’Toxic Envy’ is probably the most hard-rock tune on the record,” said Nic Collins. “And it’s definitely my favorite drum song on the record too. Trev’s riffs and arrangement ideas made it a field day for me when writing the parts and I wanted to match that energy with...

The new episode of The Masked Singer saw four new competitors take the stage. One unmasking occurred as Afghan Hound was unmasked as Savannah Chrisley after losing the Smackdown to Gumball. However, the two competitors didn’t need to worry about that final round. In reality, it was three, as Beets is this season’s first duo competitor.
Here is a look at Beets and who we think this duo is on The Masked Singer.
Beets On The Masked Singer
The Beets came out as a duo and sang the song, “Home” by Michael Buble. Their performance was well-received and they moved on to the next rounds without worrying about being unmasked this week. When Nick Cannon asked them who they liked from The Wizard of Oz, they said Dorothy and Toto, thanks to their loyalty and friendship.
As for their clue package, they said “Home for us has been wherever we’re together.

In 1993, Billy Baldwin and Sharon Stone co-starred in the erotic thriller Sliver, which is renowned for its powerful and thought-provoking plot. Their performances and on-screen chemistry added to the film’s appeal and popularity.
However, Stone has caused quite a stir since she recently alleged that she felt compelled to have s*x with Baldwin in order to improve his performance. After reading the comments, the latter went on a lengthy rant on X about his memories of working with Stone, confusing both supporters and critics.
Baldwin refuted Stone’s accusations in a number of ways, citing his own experiences working on the 1993 flick. He said that he asked the producer, Robert Evans, to choreograph a “final s*x scene” so he would not have to kiss his Sliver co-star.

The terror beneath the evil spirits and unexplained phenomena in Family is based on a cruel reality: a young girl’s well-founded dread of her father dying. In his self-assured first film, writer and director Benjamin Finkel wraps this fear in horror tropes, taking us inside the mind of a child imagining the worst. The film becomes increasingly tense and emotionally wrenching, even as Finkel ramps up genre touches that come to feel superfluous.
Johanna (Cameron Dawson Gray) is a lonely 11-year-old whose family has moved to another part of the country so her father can receive better cancer treatment. Finkel’s director’s statement makes it clear that this is a personal story, inspired by what he felt when his father suffered from cancer for much of Finkel’s childhood. Echoing that experience, the film is almost entirely from Johanna’s point of view. From the start we are in her nightmares and imagination,...

When Joe Keery first moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University’s Theatre School, he had no idea what direction his life would take. After graduating in 2014, the Massachusetts native stuck around for three more years, working at a restaurant, getting small acting gigs, playing in his former band Post Animal, and moving from neighborhood to neighborhood.
“It was kind of whatever would hit first,” he recalls over coffee in the West Village. These days, Keery has settled down in downtown New York between shooting shows like Stranger Things and Fargo.

After a very complicated first two years, Sony and the PlayStation 5 have finally resolved the manufacturing issue, and the consoles can be obtained everywhere. Preparing for the release of GTA 6 in 2025, Sony could be releasing a PS5 Pro, according to some very important industry analysts. Sony admits that the PS5 is entering its final stage in its life cycle.
The console has more than three years on the market; the average duration for a console generation is about 7 years, so this is half of the life expectancy for this product. The PS4 Pro was launched in 2016, three years after the release of the PS4.

This year marks the 85th anniversary of the colorful classic "The Wizard of Oz." Featuring a masterful use of Technicolor, the film offers some of the most vibrant hues ever seen in a motion picture, creating a stunning contrast between the fantastic world of Oz with the sepia-toned, mundane real world of teenager Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland). Over the 85 years since the film's theatrical debut, it's been re-released in theaters over and over again, and it's always ranked as one of the greatest films ever made. Even now, the film is still being celebrated, and this time the milestone 85th anniversary is bringing a new collection of Funko POPs to the table.

It’s been 40 years since David Lynch’s Dune first brought Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel to the silver screen, and to mark the occasion, the epic space opera will return to theaters once again.
Presented by Fathom Events, the two-day 40th anniversary celebration will land on February 18th and 19th, with many theaters across the country offering a number of showtimes. Tickets for the event are on-sale now, and can be purchased here.
Though modern audiences may sooner think of the 2021 Denis Villeneuve-directed and Timothée Chalamet-starring adaptation of Dune, Lynch’s 1984 version has earned a place in the annals of cinematic history. A controversial subject to some — including Lynch himself, who disavowed the film as a “total failure” after its release — it’s become a cult favorite over the past four decades for its transportive atmosphere, soundtrack by Toto and Brian Eno, and ensemble cast, which included Kyle MacLachlan,...

The first "Aquaman" was a huge surprise, a movie that made Aquaman gritty and serious but also goofy and funny. Sure, the movie had a very generic plot, but it shined when it went full bonkers, like when Julie Andrews voiced a sea monster, or when the film played a Pitbull cover of Toto's "Africa" during a scene where Aquaman heads to the Sahara desert.
"Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom" has glimpses of that greatness when its core adventure finally gets going, but we have to slog through some stuff before that. The opening minutes in particular don't do a good job of selling this movie, with a montage of Arthur Curry taking care of his newborn son while also kicking ass as Aquaman, while at the same time also being rather bored at his job as King of Atlantis. It is a montage that screams last-minute reshoot, with...

Right after the huge success of "Wonder Woman" but also the horrible, awful, franchise-ending "Justice League," the first "Aquaman" was a pleasant surprise. James Wan's second superhero movie ("Furious 7" features as many if not more acts of superheroism) felt like a fresh jolt of energy, featuring an octopus that plays drums, Julie Andrews as a monster, and the masterpiece that is Pitbull's cover of Toto's "Africa." This is a pure James Wan joint, one that features a terrifying horror scene with deep-sea monsters. And it was a bonafide hit, becoming the highest-grossing Dceu movie.
Before the Dceu officially ends with the release of "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," /Film's own Jacob Hall talked to director James Wan about the making of the film, and why Wan was never interested in making a realistic take on the character. "I had to embrace the quirkiest side of this world,...

From the hidden depths of the sea, to the farthest corners of the globe, legendary monsters lie in wait. These colossal and fabled creatures, broadly referred to as kaijū, remain dormant or lurk in the shadows until there is no mistaking their existence. During the course of their travels, they often menace civilizations or battle other beasts of a similar size. Their legacies are formidable and their powers are devastating.
Yet despite their sheer enormity and astonishing abilities, audiences today may find it difficult to imagine the likes of Godzilla being genuinely scary. Their destruction can be shocking, but the monsters themselves don’t always strike fear in mankind’s heart. Even so, there are those instances in the course of Japanese kaijū cinema — from Godzilla, Gamera, or otherwise — where viewers are genuinely unnerved by what they see on screen.

Aquaman is back, baby! And he actually has a baby with him now! With the brand new DC Universe fast approaching, "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom" serves as the very last remaining project of the old DC Expanded Universe that started with "Man of Steel" back in 2013.
It is fitting, then, that the honor of closing out this version of a DC cinematic universe will fall on the single best character of this universe — Jason Momoa's Aquaman. The first "Aquaman" was an incredibly fun movie, one that presented a huge, visually rich world, lots of dumb fun, an octopus that plays drums, and the cinematic gift that is the scene where Aquaman heads to the Sahara Desert while a cover of Toto's "Africa" by Pitbull plays in the background. Halloween has arrived, and celebrities have gone all out to dress up as other pop cultural icons. The SAG-AFTRA guidelines for Halloween this year advised members to not post photos of costumes inspired by struck work on social media, to choose costumes inspired by generalized Halloween tropes or to dress up as characters from non-struck content like cartoons or other animated TV shows.
“SAG-AFTRA issued Halloween guidance in response to questions from content creators and members about how to support the strike during this festive season. This was meant to help them avoid promoting struck work, and it is the latest in a series of guidelines we have issued,” the guild said in a statement.
But not all actors complied.

George Harrison was less interested in guitars and more interested in another instrument when he wrote The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” He revealed another rock star helped him create the song. Prince gifted the world with an awe-inspiring cover of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
Why people love The Beatles’ ‘Why My Guitar Gently Weeps’
“While My Guitar Gently Weeps” has interesting lyrics. However, it’s most beloved for its guitar riffs. That’s ironic, given George’s mindset at the time.
The book George Harrison on George Harrison: Interviews and Encounters includes an interview from 1977. In that interview, George discussed the composition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” “Well, for eight studio dates, and then I’d get the guitar out and just play, you know, learn a part and play for the record.” he said. “But I’d really lost a lot of interest in the guitar.

I have seen the future of cinema, and it is “Aggro Dr1ft,” a neon-hued outlaw eyegasm from the director of ”Spring Breakers.” There will likely never be another film like it. Even so, it’s clear that Harmony Korine’s immersive iridescent plunge into the world and psyche of a serial killer points the way down fresh avenues for the medium to explore.
This is the first movie I’ve seen that doesn’t feel like it was meant to be watched; instead, it was designed to wash over you — or maybe just to unspool on one of the many screens illuminated in your field of vision, while your focus ricochets between it and whatever else is competing for your attention. As Brian De Palma’s “Scarface” became a touchstone cultural reference for the immigrant and hip-hop communities, so too could “Aggro Dr1ft” connect with audiences who see themselves (or...

San Francisco, Aug 1 (Ians) Japanese gaming giant Nintendo will reportedly launch its next-generation console in the second half of next year.
The company will make sure that it has ample stock available on day one to prevent the kind of shortages faced by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, reports Vgc, citing sources.
Even though the specifics of the device are being highly guarded, some people hinted that it would be possible to utilise the next-gen console in the portable mode, similar to the Nintendo Switch.
According to other two sources, the new Nintendo console could launch with an LCD screen, instead of the more premium Oled, to reduce costs.
Like its predecessor, the upcoming console will also accept physical games via a cartridge slot, the sources said.
It is still unclear whether the new product would come with backwards compatibility support for Switch games (physical and digital).

A version of this story about Juliette Lewis and “Yellowjackets” first ran in the Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Every time Juliette Lewis finishes a project, she is reminded of Dorothy waking up from her dream in “The Wizard of Oz” and trying to explain the profound experience she just went through. “You have this magical journey. I always think of, ‘And the Tin Man was there and Toto and the lion!’” Lewis said, paraphrasing Dorothy. Waking up from her “Yellowjackets” dream at the end of Season 2 was particularly emotional. “The crew, our A.D. department, that cast — you could be weeping about it,” she said. (Spoilers ahead!)
For two seasons on Showtime’s addictive thriller, Lewis’ Natalie Scatorccio wore her trauma on her sleeve, grappling with survivor’s guilt and memories of the horror she and her soccer teammates lived through as teenagers stranded in the wilderness.

Toto, we’re not in “Carol” anymore. Despite the major shift in LGBTQ representation over the last decade, reality television has been slow on the uptick. Sure, we have the twin crown jewels of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Queer Eye,” which both came to define the gold standard of reality competition and makeover shows, respectively. But when it comes to the reality dating show — that pinnacle of heteronormative culture that’s singlehandedly keeping antiquated beliefs about relationships alive — nobody knows what to do with the queers. That’s a real oversight, especially considering that pass-around party bottoms and U-hauling lesbians know a thing or two about high-stakes drama.
While recent LGBTQ reality shows like MTV’s “The Real Friends of WeHo” and Prime’s “Tampa Baes” attempted to start their own thing, launching a new franchise is hard work, and it often doesn’t have the fanbase to sustain interest.

Listen, we're all on the same page here. Betty White was, is, and always will be a national treasure. Whether you were weaned on "The Golden Girls" like me or found her through her later career work, mostly as the sweet yet foul-mouthed old lady in a raucous comedy of some sort, Betty White holds a special place in your heart.
One of her last handful of projects was a guest stint on "Community," Dan Harmon's under-appreciated pre-"Rick and Morty" show that has been thriving in streaming syndication lately where she played Anthropology Professor June Bauer, a character that played to all of Betty's strengths as a comic performer. She'd go from expertly lecturing to using a blow dart on a student or attacking Joel McHale's Jeff Winger with a complicated weapon to earn his respect and prove a larger point that we're stronger together than apart.

It’s time for Universal Pictures to shine at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas, where the studio teased many of their upcoming projects.
Now that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is breaking records, Chris Meledandri of Illumination was on hand for a victory lap. He said you have to keep making original products not based on existing characters. He showed us a sneak peek at Migration, written by The White Lotus’ Mike White. It’s a classic family road movie, except they’re ducks. He says this will feature the “subversive humour” people know from their movies.
Meledandri offered a sneak peek at Migration, which follows a family of ducks who try to convince their overprotective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime. Kumail Nanjiani and Elizabeth Banks voice the parents, with Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Carol Kane, Keegan-Michael Key, and David Mitchell also starring.

As a fan of Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel "Dune," I've always been perplexed by the hostility to David Lynch's 1984 filmed adaptation. It is a wildly truncated take on the book, one that makes a couple of key alterations to the text, but I don't go to movies for slavish takes on great novels. I've already had that experience.
Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," Curtis Hanson's "L.A. Confidential" and George Stevens' "A Place in the Sun" (based on Theodore Dreiser's "An American Tragedy") are distinctly different from their source material, and, thus, illuminating and thrilling in exciting new ways. It's akin to listening to the Cowboy Junkies' cover of the Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" -- I'm hearing a brilliant song for the first time.
While Lynch was able to place his singularly perverse stamp on Herbert's universe -- he was, unsurprisingly, quite fond of the twisted...

“Air” music supervisor Andrea von Foerster received a music playlist from Ben Affleck titled 1984. “It was literally my childhood,” she says of the song collection that featured classic ’80s hits including “Africa” by Toto, “Candy Girl” by New Edition and “Jump” by Van Halen.
The Affleck-helmed film, set in that same year, navigates Nike’s bid to land NBA player Michael Jordan and explores his groundbreaking sponsorship deal with the company.
That playlist from the director and star of the film was the springboard for the 23 needle drops and 18 score cues “Air” features. In curating the film’s needle drops, von Foerster wasn’t just using music to play against what was on screen — “the music was used as a showcase to tell a story,” she says.
Her goal was to use music from the year authentically, visually and musically where the lyrics would often match what was being seen on-screen.

What do you want from the movies this year?
Cheaper tickets? Smarter superheroes? A love story and five watchable Oscar films?
Personally, I would settle for one great line.
You know, the kind that immediately transcends whatever picture gave it birth. It is echoed, referenced, repeated, misquoted, and, finally, embedded so deeply in our brains that we can barely communicate without it. “Show me the money!” “Make my day.” “Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.”
That memorable lines have evaporated from film is hardly a revelation. When the American Film Institute compiled its list of the 100 best movie quotes in 2005, only one 21st Century quote made the list. That would be the words “My precious,” from The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, released in 2002.
Film hasn’t gotten more eloquent since. Just last week, The Wall Street Journal noted that Keanu Reeves speaks...

A family of anthropomorphised eggs land themselves in hot water in a dismal film full of garish visuals and unfunny gags
With this family animation, Mexican film-making brothers Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatriste put young and old alike through a gruelling ordeal of headachey hyperactive visuals and flatlining gags. This 2021 film is the latest instalment of their Little Eggs franchise, getting a UK release presumably to cash in on the Easter school holidays. Though to be honest, I’d take two weeks locked inside a soft-play centre with a class of Year Ones over sitting through it again.
The story begins on a farm in Mexico where rooster Toto has become the proud dad of two adorable eggs: a boy and a girl who pop out with legs and arms, wearing matching sneakers and talking. I was puzzled by the egg aspect of the film: is it weird that...

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has some hit singles under her belt, and not all are with her group members Xscape. She co-wrote several songs for Destiny’s Child before the group members embarked on solo careers. Burruss says it was evident from her time working with Beyoncé that she’d be the breakout star.

The Final Girl trope defined characteristics of the last character left alive to confront the killer in horror films, particularly in slasher films. The rise of feminism in the 1970s became a milestone in the genre as the damsel in distress did not need a man to rescue her anymore. Sally Hardesty (Marilyn Burns) from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) in the Alien franchise and Jess Bradford (Olivia Hussey) from Black Christmas all portrayed strong female characters who all fought back against their assailant.

Two years into a global pandemic, the 2022 Oscars initially appeared intent on becoming the Grammys tonight.
Kicking off with an introduction by the legendary Venus and Serena Williams and leaping immediately into a lime-drenched performance of the Oscar-nominated King Richard theme song by Beyoncé from the tennis courts of Compton, the 94th Academy Awards on ABC looked like a ceremony in search of an identity.
Hollywood Reacts To The Oscar Slap: Physical Assault, Say Many; “How We Do It”, Says Jaden Smith
Of course, amidst all the winners and performers, there is one shocking and disturbing moment that will define this year’s show and permanently stain the already struggling Academy Awards. That moment was a very unscripted, very real, and only-on-live-television moment when Will Smith went up onstage and hit Chris Rock hard for going off script and mocking Jada Pinkett Smith as he got ready to hand out the Documentary Feature Award.

Jerry Maren, the last surviving munchkin from The Wizard of Oz – he represented the Lollipop Guild, memorably presenting Judy Garland’s Dorothy with a large, red and white swirled lollipop just before she and Toto headed off to see the Wizard – has died. Maren was 98, according to reports.
Maren passed away last week at a San Diego nursing care facility, according to TMZ, which broke the story. The actor was buried last weekend at Forest Lawn in Hollywood.
Maren was one of more than 100 little people cast to populate the 1939 MGM film’s Munchkinland, and distinguished himself as one of the three grimacing, shuffling, tough-boy Lollipop Guild Munchkins. In one of the film’s most charming moments, he shyly handed Dorothy the giant candy to thank her for dropping a house on a witch.

If Frank Pavich's wonderful Jodorowsky's Dune exposes even one person to the director's legacy of work then I consider it a success. Whether anyone thinks that Jodorowsky's version of Dune would have been the transcendent experience that he believes it would have been, I think we can all agree that it would have been something unique indeed and the world is kind of a worse place for the lack of it. Personally, I'm a fan of Lynch's Dune, warts and all. Not so much the Toto soundtrack, but that's another story.

David Lynch knows exactly when he started transcendental meditation: "On July 1st, 1973, at about 11 am." Although Lynch is most famous as a director of delightfully twisted movies from Eraserhead to Inland Empire, he is also a painter, an actor (most recently on Louie), a coffee seller, and the founder of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace. The foundation is dedicated to spreading transcendental meditation (the practice developed by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who famously taught it to the Beatles)—particularly to groups at risk, such as the homeless,...

Chuck vs. the Music: Five Seasons of Great Tracks
The final episode of Chuck airs this Friday and this is an impressive achievement considering how close it came to cancellation during this period. Chuck clearly has a rabid fan base that has shown their devotion which led to this 5-year run. The Subway campaign was a good way to prove that despite low audience figures this show was worth keeping on the air and I definitely bought a sandwich or two.
For me though it would be far easier to measure my love for this show by the amount of tracks on iTunes that I have purchased after hearing them first on Chuck and I’m sure I’m not the only one. For some it is the pop culture references that made Chuck the charming show it is, for others it is the characters and while these two factors are incredibly important,...

MacGruber Blu-RayUNIVERSAL Home ENTERTAINMENT2010/Rated R & Unrated/Running Time 91 & 95minsAvailable September 7 – List Price $39.98Just because it makes a hilarious series of SNL skits, doesn't mean it would make a good movie. MacGruber is one of those films I watched in a theater and constantly muttered to myself “What the f*** is this?” I don't mind the idea behind the story, which basically takes elements from TV's MacGuyer and adds them to a ridiculous mullet-headed fool, but the film gets sooo asinine and stupid by tripping on its own ambitions. Star and writer Will Forte along with director/co-writer Jorma Taccone try too damn hard. Their attempt to expand upon their original material with extreme vulgarity and bathroom humor is so over-the-top, its no wonder that Paramount Pictures, the studio which produces and distributes most of the SNL movie adaptions, passed on the project. Makes me miss the days of Jake and Elwood.

MacGruber is a movie adaptation of the short comedy sketches that featured on Saturday Night Live that was itself a parody of the awesome MacGyver TV series (Now getting its own movie) but with MacGruber being completely inept at what he does. The feature length film builds on the SNL sketches successfully and creates one of the most entertaining comedy characters I have seen in a long while.
Will Forte stars as MacGruber, a well decorated solider with 16 purple hearts to his name and the only American to be a member of the Green Berets, Navy SEALs and Army Rangers. MacGruber, who’s presumed dead, gets called out of his self-imposed exile in South America to hunt his nemesis Dieter Von Cunth (Val Kilmer), who killed his bride on their wedding day, and has stolen a nuclear missile which he has pointed at Washington DC. But after assembling his crack...

Romance couldn't ask for a better wingman than the rain. That's what the movies have taught us anyway.
Forget candlelight, holding your boombox aloft or penning a sonnet. Nothing sets the mood for love better than a good dose of rain. Think of it as Mother Nature playing matchmaker. Unvoiced emotions, like raindrops, gather until they become overwhelming and release in a deluge of kisses or romantic declarations.
In "Dear John," based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum) is on leave when he meets and falls for college student Savannah Lynn Curtis (Amanda Seyfried). They share their first kiss in the rain.
"Dear John" isn't the only film that has taken advantage of rain's mysterious properties. This romantic device has been bringing couples together throughout cinematic history.
Here's some of the top cinematic kisses in the rain:
