*full disclosure: a quote written by this reviewer is featured on the rear box cover of this film (seen left and top, first panel.
Director: John Bonito.
Writers: Michael Compton and Sherry Compton.
Cast: Maria Bello, Stephen Dorff and Joanna Cassidy.
Carjacked is an interesting film to this reviewer mainly because this is the first release to feature a quote from 28Dla on the cover. The quote taken by Anchor Bay Films is a sum up of some of the early promotional material. However, the film itself is very mediocre despite some great acting from Maria Bello and Stephen Dorff. Slow pacing in the early frames and a ridiculous character transformation in the finale sank this film's chances of becoming anything special or believable.
Golden Globe nominee Maria Bello plays Lorraine, a meek single mother of one boy. She attends a woman's support group at night while scrounging for gas money on her own.

Previously titled Carjacked, Jacked has a menacing new film poster, which shows Stephen Dorff as Roy, menacing actress Maria Bello (Lorraine) and her young son (Connor Hill).
Actor Stephen Dorff has shown a resurgence in his career with dramatic central roles in Felon (2008) and Sofia Coppola's Somewhere (2010). Jacked looks like a continuation of this streak. In the picture, Dorff plays Roy a man on the run from a recent robbery and he uses his ex-wife and son to get over the Mexican border. But, the tagline reminds viewers that "vengeance is hers!" Enjoy an update on one of the more exciting thrillers to come out in 2011. An updated synopsis and release date are below.
The synopsis for Jacked is here:
"Lorraine is a working single mom with an abusive ex-husband who, even after separation, continuously creates problems for her and her 8-year-old son, Chad. On a seemingly normal evening,...

On just about every Friday night, when I was a kid, back in the days before Netflix (or illegal BitTorrents for all you criminals out there, you know who you are), my parents used to take me to the video store (this being their idea of active recreation, far be it from me to complain). No sooner would we get through the entrance way before I found myself in the horror and sci-fi/fantasy sections, face-to-face with a slew of low budget titles, never advertised on television, performed by actors who seldom (if ever) broke into major motion pictures, and helmed by directors who proved, time and time again, that creativity cannot be bought, but rather cultivated, with ambition and a fervent imagination.
