*spoiler alert Director: Guy Norman Bee. Writer: Ben Edlund. Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Ty Olsson, Liane Balaban, Athena Karkanis and Patrick Stafford. By definition, a blood brother is an individual with an unyielding loyalty to another. That is sometimes concentrated in a blood pact or in how a team survived against all odds in a do-or-die situation. "Supernatural's" fifth episode, "Blood Brother," encompasses that definition plus more, namely a kinship between man (Dean) and beast (Benny). This episode also explores what can separate a band of brothers too. Through a series of flashbacks, Dean's (Jensen Ackles) life in Purgatory is explored some more, Sam's relationship with Amelia (Liane Balaban) finally gets some meat, and Benny's place in the vampire hierachy is examined. At the episode's start, this resurrected vamp explores his old haunts perhaps to tie up loose ends. Fellow vampires recognize him as a changed man.

Episode 8.05 - "Blood Brother" (airs 10/31/12, 9-10 pm)
Benny Calls Dean For Help — After Benny (Ty Olsson) gets brutally beaten up by some vampires, he calls Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help. Dean abruptly packs up and tells a confused Sam (Jared Padalecki) that he’s taking a “personal day.”
Benny confesses that he’s going after his Maker (guest star Patrick Stafford) so Dean offers to help, flashing back on the many times Benny helped him and Castiel (Misha Collins) in Purgatory. Meanwhile Sam (Jared Padalecki) uses his solo time to reflect on the life he left behind with Amelia (guest star Liane Balaban). However, when things go bad for Dean and Benny,...

This morning we have for you a look into the Supernatural season 8 future with these promo images from “Blood Brother”, the October 31st episode of Winchester Brother badassery. Or is it? Looks like more Dean and Benny, and I know some fans get salty over any relationship getting more screen time than Sam and Dean. They were finally rid of Misha Collins’ Castiel, who we learned a bit more about this week, and now have to deal with Benny the vamp from Purgatory. Anyways, Benny and Dean have some business to take care of and things get a bit hot, and Dean needs to call in Sam, who is still thinking about Amelia.
Why? Well we are getting ahead of our selves a bit, but you can see the couple being pretty chummy in pics we have for you from next week’s episode “Heartache”. We know how Sam gets...

As we saw in last week's season premiere of "Supernatural," Dean (Jensen Ackles) and the vampire Benny (Ty Olsson), formed an extremely strong bond during their time together in Purgatory. That will grow even more evident in the show's Halloween episode, "Blood Brother" -- because in this case, "brother" definitely isn't referring to the Winchester siblings.
If you read our "Supernatural" vampire primer, you know that the only thing that can cure vampirism is blood from a vampire's sire, or "Maker." As far as we know, the cure needs to happen before a vampire has his first taste of human blood, but nonetheless, in "Blood Brother," Benny decides to go after his Maker, played by guest star Patrick Stafford.
When a pack of vampires beat the you-know-what out of Benny, he calls Dean for help. Surprisingly, Dean doesn't hesitate at all. According to The CW, he "abruptly packs up and...

A woman attempts to pay at the check out in the grocery store, hounded by a complaining customer behind her and very nervous when she looks at a gang outside in the car. Lots of potential suspects in the opening as to why she was so anxious. Shots are heard and the trolley cart boy and the same woman are shot and killed. Nick's (George Eads) first comment at the Cs is that he wanted to go grocery shopping too. Very out of character and irrelevant that two DBs could lead him to think of shopping. Sara (Jorga Fox) replies someone had the same idea. The Db boy, Hector has prison tattoos so could have been the intended target. Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) comments on the woman being an unlucky customer, meaning her shooting could have been accidental. However Nick comments on the Gs (Gun shot) wounds and one in her left eye.
