She came into our fourth annual event with nine nominations and walked away with nine victories including Artist of the Year for the fourth year in a row. Watch the announcement video above for winners in all categories, and scroll down for the complete list.
In the history of the GDMAs thus far, Swift is the only artist who has won Artist of the Year. She’s also the only artist who has won Record of the Year and Song of the Year. But her Album of the Year victory for “Midnights” is only her second in that race. She previously won in 2021 for “Folklore,” but Lana Del Rey claimed that honor in 2022 for “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” and Beyonce prevailed in 2023 for “Renaissance.”

Listen up, guys: The three members of Haim play their own instruments and any rumors to the contrary are false. In a new interview with NME, the rock band discussed the constant trolling they receive online, saying they are tired of shutting down online comments that accuse them of pretending while onstage.

Musical tag-teaming doesn’t have results much more fruitful than what came about when the showrunners of “A Small Light” picked Ariel Marx to compose the score for the limited series and Este Haim to serve as executive music producer. Neither Haim nor Marx was in a position to take anything about the job lightly, given that the eight-episode series for National Geographic and Disney+ tells the story of a Dutch woman, Miep Gies, who helped hide Anne Frank and her family from the Nazis. Yet, in their very separate roles, both found ways to bring musical light or even levity into a drama that inevitably skews toward tension.
Este Haim took on the Emp job for the first time with “A Small Light” after previously scoring or co-composing “Maid” and “Cha Cha Smooth” — on top of her day job as one-third of the rocking sister trio Haim. For “A Small Light,...

The latest covers from the series, with music executive produced by Este Haim, include Sharon Van Etten and Michael Imperioli’s take on the Ink Spots’ “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” and Angel Olsen’s rendition of “My Reverie,” originally performed by Larry Clinton & His Orchestra.

When the clock struck midnight, a new music era began for Taylor Swift as she debuted her 10th studio album, Midnights.
When announcing the album, Swift hinted that it would share more personal stories, something she moved away from with her Folklore and Evermore albums, and described it as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” Swift wrote. “The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching — hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve…we’ll meet ourselves.”
Fans have been left wondering what direction and sounds the new era would bring following Swift’s last indie folk chapter, Folklore and Evermore.

Paul Thomas Anderson has previously directed the rock trio Haim — comprised of Alana, Este, and Danielle Haim — in nine kinetic music videos that dazzlingly capture the groove of the band’s throwback, Grammy-nominated tunes. Now, after directing the sisters in his Best Picture nominee “Licorice Pizza,” Anderson turns his camera back on the trio for his 10th music video with them, “Lost Track.” Originally premiering in W Magazine, the piece imagines the triad as 1950s society girls in a dance hall. Watch below.
“I was reading the Valley News from the early 1950s, and I was fascinated by the social section of the paper,” Anderson told W regarding his inspiration. “I loved the women in the Valley doing their club activities. There were photos of the ladies at a flower show with their prized orchids. There was a group of art students who were chosen as extras for a Hollywood movie.

I simply can't get over Taylor Swift's adorable friendship with the Haim sisters. After Taylor took home album of the year at the Grammys on Sunday, Este Haim, Danielle Haim, and Alana Haim - who were also nominated in the category for their album Women in Music Pt. Following Taylor's speech, the sisters shared another sweet moment with the singer as they screamed and ran toward Taylor backstage. Paul Thomas Anderson has directed six music videos for the Haim sisters, whose 2020 rock album “Women in Music Pt. III” is nominated at the Grammys for Album of the Year later this year. But it turns out the “Phantom Thread” and “Boogie Nights” director has impacted Haim’s music far more than just from behind the camera. On this week’s episode of the “Song Exploder” podcast, the band and their collaborators revealed that Anderson played a key role in writing the bridge of the song “Summer Girl” after he sent over unused movie dialogue for the Haim members to use however they wanted.
The story begins when Anderson told the band they should all get together and film a music video for “Summer Girl,” but the problem was the song was not finished yet. As band member Este Haim said, “We were like to Paul, ‘Wait, pump the breaks.

The songwriter and producer eliminated the original recording’s introduction, which features a desperate voicemail (“Hey…what’s up…just calling to see if you’re still up…”). Instead, it kicks off with the chorus and reverb, adding a glossy finish.

As part of their ongoing Hanukkah celebration on social media, Haim have released a hilarious and very 2020 parody of the Waitresses’ 1981 holiday song “Christmas Wrapping.” It’s called “Christmas Wrapping 2020 (All I Want for Christmas Is a Vaccine).”
The cover arrives with a low-budget iPhone music video featuring the sisters, along with their pal Jeremy O. Harris, playwright and creator of Slave Play. The sisters bemoan the current state of their quarantine Hanukkah (“My menorah’s lost/I’m breaking out/Depressed from having zero sex/Dad interjects, ‘Latkes a...

So, How Was Your 2020? is a series in which our favorite entertainers answer our questionnaire about the music, culture and memorable moments that shaped their year. We’ll be rolling these pieces out throughout December.
Haim released their most daring album to date, Women in Music Pt. III, this past June, and while they weren’t able to tour the record — aside from a few deli shows at the beginning of 2020 — the sisters kept themselves busier than ever. No body, no crime—just breadsticks. Olive Garden is thrilled to be a part of the Swiftverse. On Dec. 11, Taylor Swift dropped her ninth studio album evermore, and with it, her very first collaboration with friends and tour mates Alana, Este and Danielle Haim. The track, a twisted murder tune called "no body, no crime," name-checks Este as a woman murdered by her husband, who Taylor's character then offs in an act of revenge. However, it's not just Este that Taylor names in the song: Italian chain restaurant Olive Garden also gets a shout-out, as the spot where Este is supposed to be on Tuesday nights. "Este wasn't there Tuesday night at Olive...

So here we are again…again. And honestly, we should have seen this one coming. Of course, Taylor Swift, stuck in quarantine like the rest of us, decided to release a whole new collection of 17 songs as a sequel to her outstanding Folklore, unleashing it unto the world with as little warning as the last one. Evermore may be its own album, but it’s also very much an extension of Folklore – a “sister record,” as Swift calls it. And what better way to give such a songwriting-heavy project a second life?...

Haim have revealed a new song “Feel the Thunder,” to be featured on the soundtrack for the animated children’s film The Croods: A New Age.
With hair-metal guitars and a live music sound, it’s a goofy, high-octane departure from what we usually expect from a new Haim song. But according to the sisters, that was part of the fun of recording it with co-writer and producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who is “the biggest Guns ‘n’ Roses fan,” according to Danielle Haim.

Haim have a signature look when it comes to their music videos, and it is, uh, walking. Lots of walking. For a band so heavily associated with Los Angeles, the trio ironically love ditching their cars and strolling down the boulevard in many of their visuals.
Usually, that walking comes paired with some dance moves or a little warm weather-related hijinks. But in their new video for “Don’t Wanna,” from their just-released album Women in Music Pt. III, it’s way more straightforward. At a vacant parking lot outside the Los Angeles Forum,...

Haim are the latest band to perform for NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series from home. The sisters tuned in remotely from their separate Los Angeles abodes to play three tracks from Women in Music Pt. III, their upcoming third album.
Leading off with “The Steps,” Haim jammed out on guitar, bass and bongos before performing “I Know Alone” and the Wimpiii era’s first single, “Summer Girl,” released last July. For the last song, Henry Solomon joined the trio for the song’s signature saxophone line.

Haim’s third album, the cheekily titled Women in Music Pt. III, begins like an uncapped fire hydrant spraying water on a scorching summer day. A sax solo from Henry Solomon leads into Danielle Haim begging for a miracle from their hometown on album opener “Los Angeles.” While they love L.A., it’s bringing them down and they’re mulling what to make of their disappointment and disillusionment.

Danielle Haim tears through three new songs in latest installment of Rolling Stone‘s ‘In My Room,’ a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.
Surrounded by equipment, she kicked off with “Don’t Wanna,” the latest single from the band’s upcoming LP Women in Music Pt. III. “Well, we both had nights waking up in strangers’ beds,” she sings, strumming an electric guitar. “But I don’t wanna, don’t wanna, I don’t wanna give up yet.”
She then performed “Summer Girl,” a sunny track released last summer.

Haim try to keep a rocky relationship together on their new song, “Don’t Wanna,” the latest offering from Women in Music Pt. III, out June 26th via Columbia.
The track is another slick bit of pop rock that begins with a rich guitar riff bubbling over a deep drum and bass groove, and eventually builds to a bustling peak packed with overlapping vocals and hornlike fanfare. The song chronicles a tumultuous love affair, but searches for some way to steady the ship in the chorus: “Well we both had...

Haim dropped a timely new single, “I Know Alone,” off their upcoming album Women in Music Pt. III, out June 26th.
Directed remotely by Jake Schreier, the song’s video features the sister trio on a basketball court performing a choreographed dance to the somber synth-heavy track. “Been a couple days since I’ve been out/Calling all my friends but they won’t pick up,” they lament in the first verse. “Found another room in a different place/Sleeping through the day and I dream the same.”

Haim have released a new song “Hallelujah,” and no, it’s not a Leonard Cohen cover. The sister trio dropped the song accompanied by a video directed by their frequent collaborator, Paul Thomas Anderson.
The stripped-down track was co-written by Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim. Haim are the latest music group to stop by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, and as per tradition, the trio performed a recent hit (“Summer Girl”) along with a cover of another artist – in this case, Lil Nas X’s latest single “Panini.” But Haim put a twist on the rapper’s song, mashing it up with Nirvana’s “In Bloom,” which the original “Panini” interpolates.
It’s a fun transition from programmed drums and synths into full-on grunge rock, with Danielle Haim doing her best Kurt Cobain impression.
