Has it really been that long ago?
18 July 2001
I, a child of the 70's, watched this again for the ninth or tenth time last night...but the first time in about ten years. We all change as time goes on, but this wonderful and timeless movie never fails to deliver the emotions, the angst, the misery, the horror...the horror...

Dennis Hopper--well, man, to see him again in that incredibly timeless role, man...and Marlon Brando. Every single performance in this movie exceeds anything you expect. Martin Sheen--sent off as an assassin to 'terminate with extreme prejudice'...here is a man with obvious love for humanity and his fellow soldier. A respect for his target and a belief that his target probably did nothing wrong. Will he be able to carry out his mission? Could he do it today? Was it wrong then?

Certainly among the best movies on war ever made. Not to be missed by anyone. 10/10 :-))
