Set in the time just prior to the French Revolution, this wonderful film gives a view into the secretive world of the Court of Louis XIV, and the ins and outs involved in currying favours. Strong acting, clear plot and characters, and lush cinematography give this film something to seek out for one's entertainment. The young heroine is one of the most truly beautiful heroines we've seen in a long time, and the witty repartee makes this a feast for the mind, as well.
