Flows better than part 1, but it's getting old. (SPOILERS for part 1 and 2)

Warning: Spoilers
In many ways, I wish this was the first Wishmaster film. So many things work better in the sequel than they do in the first movie. For instance, in this movie the gem the genie is trapped in gets stolen, and the person who steals the gem is the one who awakens him (why, in the first movie, was the THIRD person to handle the gem the only one to awaken him?). Also, the movie flows better from scene to scene...we see our heroine slowly realizing that something horrible is about to happen. That whole process is just more believable in this movie than in the original, in my opinion. It was also cool that the genie explains why some wishes work and some don't.

This movie isn't perfect, however. If you've seen the original wishmaster, then this movie might seem predictable to a fault (you get the sense that less energy went into this film, compared to the original). We also get to see more of the genie's power and mallace in the first movie...plus the prologue in the beginning of part 1 really sets the tone for what's to come.

If someone had made ONE wishmaster movie with just the good aspects from parts 1 and 2, then that would be a film I'd recommend to anyone.
