Magnolia (1999)
First, fire the music director.
7 June 2001
The movie starts out with about 10 minutes of bad music..."one is the loneliest number one is the loneliest number one..." You get it.

With an array of good talent and a complex story to tell...with a good budget and plenty of Fx waiting to happen, this should have been a good movie. But one after one, the characters reveal themselves to be obnoxious, sweaty, troublesome, boring, and misled by their director, who I think was pretty well drugged up for the whole shoot. Tom Cruise gave a stellar performance.

Yes, there were three plots that worked their way to the center of this l_o_n_g story, like some schitzoid spider making some deformed web. In the end, very little 'entertainment' and much malformed mentality. 3/10 stars. ;-(
