Review of Paranoid

Paranoid (I) (2000)
An exercise of your empathy--SPOILERS on content
16 May 2001
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has going for it some suffering characters in a drama, that is quite inferior to the recent MAGNOLIA, indeed, but you will still find the empathy "muscles" in your brain/mind given a bit of a workout. Since Jessica Alba is in it and the film is often advertized (in used markets) as having nudity in it, it is only fair to advise yuou that you see nothing of Ms. Alba that you would not see at a beach where people where swim suits. She disrobes and is shown naked from behind from the the top of her head to the small of her back. She is also shown sitting taking a bubble bath in a bath tub --nothing your grandma would mind you seeing. Re other characters: a man is shown naked at a distance (rear view) and some models behind the scenes at a fashion show changing area are shown topless, so briefly you might miss it. Those who advertize this movie as "Jessica Alba" and "nude" are not exactly lying, but seeing HER nude, covered in bubbles ina bathtub is not what such buyers interpret such ads as promising. Worth seeing for viewers who want to feel sorry for one or more suffering characters.
