Octopus (2000 Video)

A Serious Candidate for the List of the Worst Movies in IMDB
26 November 2003
The beginning of this movie is great: it shows a Russian nuclear submarine being sunk by an American one during the crisis of the missiles in Cuba in the Sixties. Then, the story switches to the present days, in Bulgaria, where a terrorist explodes an American embassy with no survival but our `hero' Roy Turner (Jay Harrington). If this was the end of this movie, I would say: - `Uau, this is a great movie!' Unfortunately, this is the first ten minutes (I guess), and then we have to watch another 90 minutes. The screenplay and situations are so ridiculous that a possible viewer who just reads the comment would not believe on it. The dialogs are shameful. Ham actors and actresses compose the cast, but I would like to highlight the performance and face of Jay Harrington: this `actor' seems that escaped from `Wayne's World'. His performance is very poor and his character is so laughable (in the bad sense) and ridiculous that he deserved a prize of worst actor of the year (or the decade). The direction is in the same level of this film. My vote is three.
