Review of Panic Room

Panic Room (2002)
good tense drama that keeps you watching
15 May 2002
This film reminds me of Hitchcocks 'The Rear Window' where the same tense drama is developed through the story. The film also has some feel to the classic movie ‘Wait Until Dark' where a blind woman played by Audrey Hepburn is subjected to a similar kind of ordeal. The tense drama that develops between Alton played by Jodie Foster and the three intruders is quite believable and therefore compelling to watch. Instinctive thinking in the face of adversity is well portrayed and makes this movie all that more watchable while giving it momentum. We are also shown the very dark side of people on one hand where cold-blooded killing is the norm and also the morally conscious person where protecting life is more important above anything else. Look out for the opening credits its so beautifully done!
