Review of The Wash

The Wash (2001)
7/10
cameos as far as the eye can see
17 November 2001
"The Wash" can be appreciated by anyone who has any limited knowledge of the hip-hop culture in the new Millennium. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, DJ Pooh, and their friends take the idea of album promotion to a new level. The subtle comments throughout the film to the success of the two leading rappers and their current project do not go unnoticed, and also add that little bit of irony (only on screen would multi-millionaire cultural icons be working for minimum wage at a fill service car wash). Chris is played amazingly by Eminem, who has shown promise as both an artist in the music industry and now film as well. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 18, the language and themes are a little more adult, but rest assured that everyone from any walk of life will laugh at some point.
