The passion of flying
21 March 2006
I concur with other viewers who rightly point out how well the passion of flying comes through in this documentary. The music score was fantastic and helped to accentuate the passion. I find it interesting how people who live near airports get angry about the "noise" around airports and I don't see much happening with those who add sub woofers to their cars and drive through neighbourhoods with the windows down (like it matters that the window is down or not). It is a sad day when a GA airport is trashed. Meigs field is another casualty and I hadn't seen the pictures of that butcher job before. This documentary was terrifically filmed and will appeal to young and old, pilot or non-pilot and I am honoured to add it to my library. I hope the makers will continue to bring such examples of filming quality to DVD. For me, anything aviation is usually a sure hit, but this presentation exceeded my wildest expectations.
