Does exactly what is says on the tin

I'm just back from seeing this film and the impression I'm left with is.....great fun! Clearly it's aimed mostly at slightly older kids, but there was something here for everyone. Robin Williams does a good turn as Roosevelt, although at the end of the day it is just Robin Williams that the more experienced viewers will see. Some nice cameos along the way, although Ricky Gervais...he felt a little miscast and he basically plays the same guy he does everywhere, so again it wasn't the character I saw, it was just Ricky Gervais.

Still this is a good fun movie, I love the contrasts between the human sized world and that of the little people, for example an explosion seeming large to them but really tiny to us. Some naughty innuendo is afoot, as well as one or two references to other movies like Brokeback Mountain (keep your ears peeled for that one).

All in all great fun, the actors seem to have a blast although some of them were a bit thin. Nice effects, some tender moments, some of it is a retread of old territory, but ultimately I didn't care. It's just good fun!
