Good vehicle for Barbara Carrera
7 February 2007
A quick scan of the cast list makes it apparent that the only known name is Barbara Carreras. And what then would one expect? At best a good vehicle for her screen persona. And that is what this is - that and her set against a beautiful tropical background. Barbara Carrera is no bimbo or simpering starlet. Her image is of beauty and ability to control men both by force of character and by a strong sexuality capable of keeping men in thrall. And here we find just that. Here her particular stud of the moment - not a fool, not a weak man but willing to accept the humiliation of a public slap on the face and still fairly meekly follow her to the bedroom. Not a storyline often to be seen. The scene where she backs right to the edge of a cliff is all of a part of the same character - a woman bold and brave enough to push danger to the limit. Such women are not commonplace - they are rare but they do exist. Not a great movie, not a good one but nevertheless a good vehicle for a distinctive actress with some merit.
