War (2007)
7/10
Enjoyable action thriller with Jet Li and Jason Stathom

Warning: Spoilers
War is an intense action movie. It's not a classic, but it's certainly enjoyable and pretty awesome. This is the 2nd collaboration of Jet Li and Jason Stathom. I'll say it's certainly better than many of the movies that came out at the same time.

War presents something rare as gold in 'action thriller' type movies: A fairly complex, in-depth plot that is good enough to keep you interested throughout the whole movie. Most films of this genre have simple plots and stories that are predictable and only serve for awesome action. The story of war is deep with enough plot twists to entertain you, but not so complicated that you can't follow along. The main story is the clash between the famous assassin Rogue(Jet Li), and FBI agent Jack Crawford(Stathom).

The acting is average for an action movie. Nothing to dull, but no Oscar-worthy performances either. You get what you expect from each individual, although Jet does pretty well portraying Rogue. As for the action of this action movie, it delivers. War has something for everybody. Fist fights, gun fights, car chases, and explosions are delivered. Jet Li fans may be a little agitated, however, because most of his fights don't come until the second half of the movie. I was expecting more action from him, and was slightly disappointed. His fight scenes were great. I just wish he had more in the first half. As for the final battle between Jet and Jason, it was intense but too short. A much better fight than what we got between them in 'The One', though.

I'd say this movie is renting, or even buying. A good way to spend a couple hours. I give it 7/10.
