LAME, LAMER, LAMEST! Some movies are made for Cinematic greatness while others are made for pure entertainment. Singh Is Kinng belongs to neither of the two categories. Director Anees Bazmee cooks up the most indulgent drivel ever! Okay, so one would argue that before watching this movie you are supposed to leave your brains out of the cinema hall and enjoy thereafter. BUT even with the IQ level equivalent to an embryo in the womb, S.I.K. comes across as one of the most painstaking movies you could ever torture yourselves with! It tries to entertain through some of the most excruciating set-pieces (Akki trying to catch a hen and causing an Earthquake or whatever), puerile humor, non nonsensical screenplay and pathetic acting. Dead Egyptian mummies in place of these actors might have made things better and interesting.
Even the huge huge box office superstar of today Akshay Kumar with his acclaimed funny bone cannot salvage this film. Other great actors like Ranvir Shorey and Om Puri are criminally wasted due to the screenplay which seems to have been written by a 4 year old kid. And will somebody actually bother to give Katrina Kaif a reality check for she comes across as the most dumb actress on the silver screen. Acting, Expressions, Dialog delivery --- Zilch!
A note to the director: Bhootni Ke what were you thinking when you made this?
