The thing that most impressed me about this movie (I was a lug-nut then and I'm a lug-nut, still.) were the hopped up cars the neighborhood kids were driving. There were quite a number of sweetly tricked out automobiles that were, to me anyway, as much "star" quality than was the acting and/or actors. I nearly cried when the yellow '57 Nomad was torched at the end of the movie. I had much the same reaction at the end of American Graffiti when the '55 rolled and burned near the end of that movie.
Cars like these are getting extremely rare, and because of the rarity, they are getting extremely costly. Destroying classic real steel like these two examples just pains me.
