Why did the writers have to totally ruin Kate and Angel's relationship? Kate had so much potential as a friend/romantic interest had she been used properly. Even 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through this episode you could see that Kate still mostly trusted and somewhat wanted Angel in more than a 'friend' way. That, however, was completely destroyed by the killing of her father by vampires. The fact that Trevor knew about demons and the underworld all along and Kate never knew really annoyed me. My least favorite part was Kate blaming Angel for her father's death. Yes, I understand that her emotions would be in disarray after seeing her father dead at the hands of vampires. Yes, I could see how she would need someone to lay blame on while in that state. However, she knew about the inviting the vampire in rule and that Angel had a soul. Why she chose to turn her back on someone who helped her and saved her life numerous times is something I've wanted to ask the writers about for years.
All in all, easily one of my top 10 least favorite episodes of the series. I liked Kate so much and couldn't bring myself to hate her, no matter how much I wanted to.
