A childhood love revisited
19 June 2009
It has been 14 years or so since last I watched this gem of a show

Why oh why was this awesome show cancelled after just two seasons? Blame old fashioned Ted Turner for cancelling this show. Shows how ignorant people really can be when it comes to judging children's TV viewing. I didn't see this show as "encouraging kids to kill each other" as he so arrogantly stated but it did spark my life long love for mechanics and gadgets!

I love the deep, complex characters that are still so original and leaves you wondering about their origin and wanting more. The character voices were done well and they did an awesome job with portraying the double life of the two main characters and even made it believable that those two main characters could be mechanics by day and vigilantes by night. I especially found it interesting how the story has a paramilitary police force instead of regular police which would seem illogical since MegaCat City is such a disaster zone. Yet it manages to never explain everything fully so something is left for your own imagination The animation was solid in the first season and amazing in the second; sporting the strangest hybrid style animation I have ever seen. The appearance of MegaKat City and the TurboCat are very original and capturing The musical score was original, amazing and capturing. Definitely the best and most fitting music I have ever heard in a show! The plot is always entertaining and very carefully written so each story is solid, interesting and never repeats itself from earlier episodes. The show was intense, mysterious and action packed. The show had lots of clever puns, witty dialogue and plot hints and was always good for a laugh. Yet it never degenerates into silliness or stupidity, but still manages to be cartoonish enough to be suitable for children

In conclusion: This show rocked 14 years ago and it still does!
