Dirty Deeds (2005)

Smirky deeds

Zach Harper (Milo Ventimiglia) is the school prankster, hip and cool, but also working outside the box. He has a thing for Meg Cummings (Lacey Chabert), similarly as Zach also a senior and overprotective of her little brother Kyle (Wes Robinson). Kyle is the school punch-bag constantly bullied by the highschool jocks led by Dan Lawton (Matthew Carey). School year is coming to a close and that means one thing - the temptation to indulge into the Dirty Deeds, a game with a long history, where the contestant has to do 10 nasty and mostly illegal things to win. Not sure what the reward is, apart from... well... have no idea.

Kyle is intent on getting back at Dan and his jocks, so decide to pick up the gauntlet and enter the Dirty Deeds, something that his sister wants to prevent from happening. This pushes Zach to push Kyle out of the competition - as a senior has precedence.

Milo is a relatively likable actor and really makes you want to root for him. Supporting cast all do a good job. I was basically mildly entertained, even if there was nothing special about the movie. Fortunately the movie moves away from fart jokes (at least most of the time) and really has a couple of successful jokes, that will at least make you smirk. Not "The Girl Next Door" but still not a total waste of time.

An interesting cameo may be that of Zoe Saldana, who has risen to fame in the meantime.
