Just saw this one yesterday.
It's been a long time since I enjoyed a movie in the theaters like this one. I was awaiting Avatar, but that was not as entertaining as I thought. I think the last time I really liked a movie in the theaters was "Paranormal Activity"
This movie is an intense psychological thriller, which keeps you involved right from the start to the end. The acting of the cast was very good. Some scenes were really eerie and nicely done. The background music was very good ..kinda like "The Shining". Its done nicely , like the music is there right at the start, when these guys are on the boat approaching the Shutter island.
There are some movies , where you are so unhappy with the way they end. This one has a perfect ending.
The movie is set in 1954, where an island is an institution with a fusion of law and psychiatric treatment. Violent and insane patients reside there, where there is not only a presence of doctors, but of police force as well. There are 3 wards. One for males, one for females, and Ward C for the extremely dangerous and violent patients. Two US marshals (DiCaprio and Ruffalo) are hired to investigate the disappearance of a patient from ward C. Slowly they uncover a conspiracy. I obviously can't tell you more about the movie without revealing too much.
This is a must-watch movie, not to be missed !
